        In this research, there are three independent essays on new model of graduate school in science and technology focused on The University of Science and Technology (UST). Chapter 2 and 3 are separately published on the Journal of Korea Technology Innovation Society(Vol. 8-special, June 2005; Vol. 8-3, 2005) The first paper reviews the necessity of new graduate school model and compares with UST and Japanese graduate school, The Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI). The comparison is focused on finding out differences, characteristics between UST and SOKENDAI in order to get suggestive idea for UST development. The second paper is an evaluation of UST based on survey, through which findings are as follows, the education aims and visions are highly satisfied while curriculums, apprentice and tailored education system, field training are not so high level yet. The last paper reviews four cases of existing university evaluation system, and suggests guidelines of evaluation methodology applicable to UST, through panel discussion and high-level review meeting for all evaluation. In new evaluation model for UST, two factors such as specialization and general factors for graduate school evaluation are identified. Specialization factors are such as multi-disciplinary and technology fusion education, field-oriented education, leadership education and globalization. Ratios between two factors are suggested as 5:5 or 6:4 emphasizing on specialization factors.
