탈냉전과 지구화 맥락의 현대일본에서 국가의식과 애국심을 고양시키려는 보수의 정 치화가 현저해지고 있다. 개인의 삶과 자유를 중시하는 일상적 보수는 퇴조한 듯 보인 다. 하지만 전후일본의 보수주의는 일본인들의 일상적 보수를 알아야 제대로 이해될 수 있다. 월간문예지 『고코로』(1948~1981)에 참여한 보수지식인들의 활동과 사상에서 전후일본에서 영위된 일상적 보수의 모습을 읽어 낼 수 있다. 아베 요시시게, 무샤노코지 사네아쓰, 시가 나오야 등 다이쇼 교양주의와 자유주의를 사상적 기조로 삼았던 ‘올드 리버럴리스트’들은 전후에 『고코로』를 매개로 유연한 지 식인 클러스터를 이루면서 언설 활동을 주도했다. 고코로 보수주의자들은 패전 직후 와 냉전 초기에 전후일본의 지식사회를 주도한 『세계』 지식인들의 진보주의와도 거리 를 두었고, 『사상의 과학』 지식인들의 과학주의에도 대항하면서, 자유주의와 교양주의 에 기초한 문화적 보수주의를 표방했다. 고코로 보수주의자들은 투쟁과 정치와 이론보다는 교양과 문화와 체험을 중시했다. 진보지식인들의 정치적 민주국가보다는 개인의 자유와 교양과 문화를 중시하는 문화 국가를 선호했으며, 추상적 이념에 의거한 혁신보다는 생의 의지가 반영된 구체적 체 험에 기초한 변화를 추구했다. 공동체의 질서를 전제로 개인의 자유를 용인했으며, 진 보지식인들의 이념적 절대평화론을 부정하고 생의 의지와 투쟁에 의해 구성되는 평 화를 상정했다. 고코로 보수주의는 경제성장과 지구화의 경쟁적 맥락에서 교양주의와 문화주의가 설 땅을 잃으면서 투쟁적 보수로 대체될 수밖에 없었다. In the context of the post-Cold War and globalization Japanese conservatives’ activities to promote national identity and patriotism have become prominent. Accordingly it seems dailylife conservatism respecting the life and freedom of the individual is decreasing. Japanese conservatism, however, cannot be properly explained without investigating into the Japanese way of acting and thinking in their life. Dailylife conservatism in postwar Japan can be grasped by probing into conservative intellectuals’ activities and writings in the monthly literature magazine Gokoro (1948~1981). “Old liberalists” including Yoshishige Abe, Saneatsu Mushanokoji and Naoya Shiga, who had conveyed cultural liberalism in Daisho period, reappeared as liberal conservatives, forming a flexible cluster of conservative intellectuals to cope with the post-war intellectual change. Gokoro intellectuals expressed their conservatism based on cultural liberalism while keeping a considerable distance from Sekai intellectuals’ progressivism and being antaganistic to Shisono Kagaku intellectuals’ scientism. Gokoro conservatives respected liberal culture and experience rather than politics and theory. They believed Japan must make a cultural liberal state, not a political democratic state Japanese progressivists tried to realize. They favored Japan’s change inducing by people’s concrete experience where the will to life worked, not its radical innovation deducing from theorists’ abstract ideas. While respecting individuals’ freedom they thought it must not harm the order of the community. They assumed the real peace can be constructed with the will to life and struggle, criticizing the progressivists’ abstract ideas of absolute peace. Gokoro conservatism had to see the rise of militant conservatism when cultural liberalism had faced the competitive context of economic growth and globalization.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 도시도로망에서의 첨단 여행자 정보시스템(ATIS) 운영계획

본 연구에서는 좌회전 금지 및 U-turn과 같이 회전제한이 있는 기하구조적 특성과 통행을 위한 시간창과 같이 특정 시간대에만 통행이 허용되는 가변적 특성이 부여된 도시도로망에서 기종점을 잇는 합리적인 최단경로를 탐색하는 문제를 다룬다. 본 연구의 동기는 지능형 교통시스템(ITS)의 응용분야인 첨단 여행자 정보시스템(ATIS)의 운영을 위해 필수적으로 요구되는 최단여행시간 경로를 탐색하고자 하는 문제에 의해서 유발되었다. 기하구조적 특성과 가변적 특성이 부여된 교통망은 도시도로망의 현실성을 보다 더 사실적으로 표현하지만 전통적인 알고리즘과 지금까지 개발된 알고리즘들은 가변적 특성이 반영된 최단경로를 탐색하는데 실패한다. 본 논문은 ATIS를 도시도로망에서 운영하는데 필요한 합리적인 최단경로 정보를 실시간으로 탐색할 수 있는 최단경로 알고리즘을 제안한다. 최단경로 알고리즘은 유전자 알고리즘 접근법을 이용하여 개발되었으며 모의실험에 의해 제안된 알고리즘의 우수성을 입증하였다. This paper discusses the problem of finding the Origin-Destination(O-D) shortest path in urban road networks that have variable special qualifies such as time windows for passing as well as geometrical special qualities such as U-turn and left-turn prohibition. The focus of this paper is motivated by the problem of finding minimum travel time paths for an advanced traveler information system (ATIS) in the context of intelligent transportation system(ITS) application. The transportation network with variable and geometrical special qualities is a more realistic representation of the urban road network in the real word. But, the traditional and existing shortest path algorithms can not search practical shortest path that variable special quality is reflected. This paper presents a shortest path algorithm which can search reasonable shortest path information for the urban ATIS application within a real time. The algorithm is based on genetic algorithm(GA). The high performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulations.

Mystery of the Most Isolated Globular Cluster in the Local Universe

We present a discovery of two new globular clusters in the Hubble Space Telescope archive images of the M81 group. They are located much farther from both M81 and M82 in the sky, compared with previously known star clusters in these galaxies. Both clusters show that higher luminosity and larger effective radius than typical globular clusters in Milky Way and M81. Using the available spectroscopic data provided by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, we derive a low metallicity with [Fe/H] ${\approx}$ -2.3 and an old age ~14 Gyr for GC-2. The I-band magnitude of the tip of the RGB for GC-1 is consistent with that of the halo stars in the GC-1 and GC-2 field. However, that of GC-2 is 0.26 mag fainter than its field. It shows that GC-2 is about 400 kpc behind the M81 halo along our line of sight. The deprojected distance to GC-2 from M81 is much larger than any other known globular clusters in the local universe. We discuss the possible scenarios to explain the existence of globular cluster in such an extremely isolated environment.
