본 연구는 최근 2009개정 교육과정의 적용시기에 맞추어 증등학교 국어수업시간에 이뤄지고 있는 쓰기수업에 대한 국어교사들의 인식을 살펴 본 것이다. 전국의 국어교사 188명을 선정하여 설문지 방식과 세 명의 교사를 상대로 진행된 인터뷰 내용을 함께 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 개정된 국어교육과정과 특히 쓰기영역의 교육내용에 대해 30%정도의 교사만이 대체로 이해하고 있다는 반응을 보였다. 또한 개정된 교육과정에 대해 무관심한 태도도 두드러지게 나타났다. 특히 80%에 육박하는 국어교사들이 본인의 쓰기수업에 대해 만족하지 못하고 있었다. 이에 대한 원인으로 교사들은 쓰기자체에 대한 학습자들의 무관심과 쓰기지식 및 전략 부족을 우선적으로 꼽았으며, 학생 글에 대한 개별적 첨삭지도의 어려움도 호소하였다. 쓰기관련 교수·학습 측면에서 교사들은 여전히 교과서에 크게 의존하고 개별 학생 글에 대한 피드백의 중요성을 인식하면서도 쓰기지식이나 절차에 대한 수업을 비중있게 실시하고 있었다. 그리고 쓰기평가 결과를 내신성적 산출에 우선적으로 활용하는 모습을 보였다.이는 사회적 의사소통 수단으로서 쓰기능력에 대한 교사들의 새로운 인식전환은 물론 학습자를 능동적인 평생필자로 키우기 위한 교육공동체의 관심을 촉구하였다. The purpose of this study was to show the awareness of teachers of Korean about writing lessons dealing with the Korean language in secondary school classrooms after the recent 2009 revision. 188 teachers of Korean were selected from across the whole country, and this research was analyzed with questionnaire surveys and interviews from 3 teachers. As a result of the analysis, the revised Korean curriculum, especially the writing content, 30% of teachers generally understood, which meant the teachers held indifference towards the revised curriculum. Almost 80 teachers of Korean felt unsatisfactory with their own writing lessons. In the teachers` opinions, this cause presented learners` apathy and lack of knowledge in not only writing but also strategy. They also had difficulties correcting students` individual writing. Teachers still depended on the textbook, related to methods and learning of writing. Even though the teachers recognized the importance of giving feedback on students` individual essays, they took classes about writing knowledge or processes. In addition, teachers showed that the writing assessments` results were utilized for school reports firstly. Thus, as a way of social communication, the teachers` new awareness about writing ability urged the interest of the education community to grow with learners.
