정보화 세계화의 영향으로 인한 자본과 노동의 이전 등으로 제주지역에도 다문화 가족이 증가하고 있다. 외국인과 혼인을 통해 이루어진 제주지역 다문화가족은 대부분 촌락내혼으로 이루어진 제주 전통가족에 비하면 다를 수밖에 없으므로 생활의례나 삶의 만족도 또한 다르다. 조사결과 제주 다문화가족의 핵가족형 비율은 제주 전통가족보다는 낮았지만 전국다문화가족보다는 높았다. 또 부부중심의 생활을 하는, 한울타리 안에서 부모와 동거하지 않는 경우가 고부갈등이 적었다. 동거가족이나 비동거 가족 모두가 시부모의 협조는 많이 받고 있었는데 아기양육, 제주 전통문화 알려주기, 경제적·물질적 도움 등이었다. 의사결정 및 경제주도권은 제주 전통가족과 달리 남편이 가지는 경우가 많았으며, 그럼에도 불구하고 배우자에 대한 만족도는 높은 편이었다. 또한 제주여성결혼이민자들은 제주생활에 대한 만족도가 높은 편이었으며, 장남분가집안이 재산균분상속 의지 비율이 높았고, 장남분가 안한 집안은 재산도 균분상속하지 않겠다는 비율이 높았다. 조사내용에 따라 지역별차이가 있었는데 눈에 띄는 것은 제주지역 다문화가족의 권역별 특징조사에서 성산읍의 경우 한울타리 동거비율이 높고 생활만족도가 낮았으며, 여성결혼이민자의 만족도는 애월읍 거주자가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 제주사회에 급증하는 다문화가족이 제주 전통가족에 비해 어떤 특징을 갖는지 살펴보는 이 연구가 제주지역 다문화가족의 이해에 긍정적이고 발전적인 도움이 되길 바란다. Due to movement of capital and labor influenced by informatization and globalization, muticultural family has been increasing. Interracial families in Jejudo have different types of family courtesy and life satisfaction compared to Jeju traditional(local) families of village endogamy. According to the research, the percentage of nuclear family of Jeju multicultural household is lower than the percentage of Jeju traditional family, but higher than the percentage of nationwide multicultural family. Also, the household which lives a couple-centered life and doesn`t live with their parents in law has less conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Both family who lives or doesn`t live with their parents in law are received financial, child care, and study about Jeju traditional culture help from their parents in law. Unlike Jeju traditional family, husband has decision making and family finance in Jeju multicultural family, and their wife showed high contentment of their husband. Also immigrant women married to Jeju showed high satisfaction on their life in Jeju, and the family which the first son doesn`t live with showed a high will of equal inheritance, and the household which the first son lives with was opposite. The results of the research were different according to the locals, and the remarkable one is that there is a high percentage of family which live with their parents in law in Seongsan and the highest percentage of immigrant women married to Jeju live in Aewol. I hope his study, which shows characteristics of increasing jeju multicultural family compared to Jeju traditional family, will help better understanding of multicultural family in Jeju.
