          Muscular power and fatigue are directly related to safety of worker and productivity, especially in manual material handing (MMH) work. EMG (electromyograph) analysis is an engineering approach to represent the muscular power and fatigue. This paper aimed to develop an on-line experiment and analysis method to abstract muscles recruited and to conjecture a threshold level of exertion of each muscle in human movement. To achieve this goal, a EMG multiplexor and data analysis packages were built.

          Design of High-efficiency Soft-switching Converters for High-power Microwave Generation

          In this paper, the design of three types of power supplies for 30 kW and 60 kW industrial magnetron drives, high voltage power supply, filament power supply and magnet power supply, are studied. The high voltage power supply was designed based on series resonant converter discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) to take advantage of a clean current source that can cover the nonlinear characteristic of a magnetron, such as a zener diode. The maximum output specification of a high voltage power supply is 42.5 kW for a 30 kW industrial magnetron drive. This can also be used for a 60 kW magnetron with a parallel operation of two power supplies. The design considerations and feasibility tests of a resonant converter for an industrial magnetron are given. Additionally, the design of two auxiliary power supplies (a filament power supply: 15 V, 120 A and a magnet power supply: 75V, 5A) is also provided. These were designed based on the series resonant converter continuous conduction mode (CCM), above resonance operation for higher efficiency. Finally, the developed power supplies were tested using both a 30 kW magnetron and a 60kW magnetron. The results prove the design procedure and reliability of the proposed scheme.

          선진국 안전보건교육제도 분석을 통한 우리나라 안전보건교육 정책방안

          This study is plan to show what kinds of problems we have and how we can overcome problems about occupational safety and health education and training system in Korea, Some features which advanced countries had were found and characterized as follows; First, advanced countries realized the importance of safety and health education on the role of preventing accident and they had varieties of training and education programs on the industrial safety and health for employer and worker. Second, there were many safety and health education programs and grants which especially focused to the small businesses. Third, they had also several programs to induce employer and worker's concerning about the safety and health education voluntarily, In conclusion, we introduced some inducing models, and proposed to revise contents of the education programs and to increase participation of other parties in safety and health education market so that could vitalize our safety and health education and training.

          This study aimed to investigate the human-related causes of aircraft accidents and present the basic data for developing human-error prevention program. Peterson's model of accident causation and Cooper's model of safety culture were applied to analyze the severe causes of aircraft accidents for last 10 years. For analyzing the causes of aircraft accidents, expert's opinion method was adopted. The analyses showed that the overload and decision error were major causes of aircraft accidents. The causes and backgrounds of human error were found with respect to human, tasks, organization.

        • 광주 소태동 지역의 백악기 퇴적암류의 조직특성

          Considered depositional environments on the Cretaceous sedimentary rocks of Mesozoic distributed in the Sotaedong area of Gwangju City, the rocks were studied in the aspects of sedimentological textures. A sedimentary columnar section in the area was analyzed in sedimentary facies changes and size analyses to brecciated conglomerates. From the study, It is inferred that the sedimentary facies indicates volcaniclastic environments composed of pyroclastic flows and surges and transitional ones from volcaniclastic delta to lacutrine margin. Based on textural analyses on sandstones in the study area, the sandstones were mainly corresponded to graywackes and lithic sandstones. In the sandstones, quartz crystals are straight and wavy in optical extinction, and they are very angular to subrounded in roundness. From above results, sedimentary rocks in the study area might be originated from metarnorphic rocks including gneisses, granites and relatively later andesites of surrounding areas. To synthesize above result, it is considered that the Jangdong formations in the study area were deposited in unstable tectonic basins located within mobile zone which had active volcanoes, and sediments by stream also flew into the basins. In particular, the sediments went through rapid changes in environments where its basement was unstable. 우리나라 전남북 지역의 중생대 백악기퇴적분지들은 중생대 쥐라기 말에 일어난 대 보조산 운동(Daebo Orogeny)과 관계된 산지성 구조분지(mountainous tectonic basin) 들로 알려지고 있다.(장기홍, 1982; 문병찬,1998; 유환수 외, 1998; 최현일, 1999). 이 구조적 분지들에는 능주분지 를 비롯하여 마이산 분지, 내장산 분지 등 여러 소분지 들이 포함된다. 그 중, 능주분지(Neungju Basin)는 가장 분포 면적이 넓은 분지로 주로 응회암 등의 화산 쇄설성 퇴적암류를 비롯한 역암, 사암, 세일 등 쇄설성 퇴적암 류와 안산암을 주로 하는 화산암류들이 다수 포함된다. 이 분지에 속하며 화산성 쇄설암류를 포함하는 퇴적암류 중 일부가 광주광역시 소태동 부근에 매우 협소한 분포를 보이고 있다. 이 지역의 퇴적암류에 대한 연구들로는 김규봉 외(1990)에 의한 광주도폭 지질 보고서(1: 50,000)와 이병주 외(1997)에 의한 광주도폭 지질보고서(1:250,000)에서 개관적 인 층서와 암상 기재 등의 연구가 수행되었을 뿐이다. 광주광역시 소태동 인근의 쇄설성 퇴적암류는 장동층에 해당하는 건으로 알려지며 층후가 단지 수십 m 정도로 매우 소규모로 노출되고 있다. 이 퇴적암류는 각력질역암, 사암, 흑색 셰일 등으로 구성되며 협소한 지 역임에도 암상과 퇴적구조의 변화가 매우 심해 당시 퇴적환경이 불안정한 상태 였음을 지적 하고 있다.

          POWER SURGE TOOL LINE 의 인간공학적 평가에 관한 연구

          본 연구의 목적은 수공구 손잡이의 재질과 형태가 작업 성능과 소비자 만족도에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하는데 있다. 본 연구는 삽, 써래, 괭이 등 수공구의 손잡이에 기존의 목재를 사용한 것과 fiberglass를 사용한 것을 인간공학적 척도를 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과 fiberglass 재질의 흠이파진 손잡이를 사용한 수공구가 기존의 목재 손잡이를 사용한 수공구보다 약 12% 효율적이며, 소비자의 만족도 면에서도 우수한 것으로 나타났다. The objective of this study was to evaluate quantitatively the effects of handle types of garden tools on the ergonomic effectiveness, user satisfaction in terms of work performance, and subjective judgment of tactile feel and control. The approach was to compare garden tools with conventional wood handle and newly developed fiberglass handle, and to utilize three different tools: shovel, rake, and hoe. The hollow fiberglass handle was 12% more efficient than either the wood or solid fiberglass handle. The next important measure was the subjective ratings of the perceived exertion averaged across three different tools. The average ratings for the hollow fiberglass handle were the smallest. In conclusion, the hollow fiberglass handle showed better efficiency and better subjective acceptability for comfort, tactile feel, and especially decreased slipperiness.

        • EMG multiplexor를 이용한 팔꿈치관절 굽힘동작의 생체역학적 분석

          There are four flexor muscles at the elbow-biceps brachii, brachialis, brachioradialis, pronator teres. The objectives of this study are to investigate the variations of the recruitment patterns of the four muscles, and to analyze bionechanically the changes of the role assigned to each muscle during elbow flexion. The transition point of type f motor unit of each muscle is inferred by analyzing the electromyogram at the initial stage of exertion. Also, for predetermined exertion levels, the re cruitment pattern and changes of the role asigned are iedntified. It shoud be noted that an EMG multiplexor is developed and the four elbow flexors have been simultaneously measured with it.
