Vol.3 No.2
This study attempt to analyze the effect of weir on stream flow at the Gumi Weir in Nak-Dong river for analyzing flood damage stability by conducting hydraulic experiment. Experiment`s results shows that water level in the upstream of weir depended on the hydrological operation of the Gumi weir. Flood risk was increased in 2 years frequency flood discharge with gate closed condition than 100 years frequency flood discharge with gate opened condition. So flood risk at the upstream of weir increased in gate closed condition even less flow condition than design flood plan. Before and after flooding, it is important to control the upstream water level by gate operation which is installed in movable part of weir. As the increasing the flow discharge condition in terms of maintaining upstream water level by management water level at gumi weir, the open gate height was increased and Froude Number and discharge coefficient of the weir Equation were decreased.

Prothrombin Time (PT) is used as a measure of blood coagulation time. An optical analysis of the signal generating mechanism is described here for the reflection-type arrangement. Thromboplastin added into serum or whole blood initiates the coagulation process. We added a sufficient amount of magnetic particles into the sample before adding thromboplastin and subjected the mixture to a rotating magnetic field. The laser light gets reflected in a periodically modulated fashion with respect to the magnetic field rotation. Analysis of this decaying modulation could produce a reasonable coagulation time. We also introduce a simulation model to explain the signal generating mechanism using LightTools.$^{TM}$
