        낙동강 하 구언 일대의 물 참새피군락 분 포 현황

        We described a spatial distribution pattern and floral diversity on the Paspalum distichum community occurring at the ecological parks of Hwamyeong, Daejeo, Samnak, and Maekdo in the Nakdong river estuary. A total distribution area of P. distichum community was 303,462.6 m2. Its largest area was found in Samnak eco-park (185,910.1 m2). The most richness of knotgrass patches in each ecological park was determined Maekdo eco-park (87). Cover class level-5 shows the largest area (260,663.2 m2). A total of 73 taxa (34 families, 55 genus, 65 species, and 8 varieties) were listed up on the P. distichum community. A welldeveloped population of knotgrass was found predominantly at sites linked into human impacts at the riverine floodplain, the stream courses flowing through the parks, and the man-made channels and wetlands. Finally we proposed an ecological management strategy for knotgrass population in the study area.

        폐동정맥기형에 동반된 소뇌 경색

        Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) is a rare vascular anomaly. The vascular anomaly usually occurs congenitally, and enlarges progressively with aging. Although PAVM has many pulmonary manifestations, its most common symptom is known to be dyspnea on exertion. Non pulmonary complications, such as ischemic stroke, have rarely been reported. In this paper, we report a case of a patient with both cerebellar infarction and an isolated PAVM. The PAVM was diagnosed with transesophageal echocardiography, transcranial Doppler and pulmonary angiography, and treated with embolization. (Korean J Stroke 2011;13:27-30)

      • PP/PEOC 블렌드의 발포거동에 관한 연구

        Polypropylene(PP) has many beneficial properties such as low density, relative high thermal stability, resistance to chemical attack, easy processing, recycl- ability, and low material cost. However, a few research has been done on the production of polypropylene foams due to its low melt strength and melt elasticity that makes it difficult to be foamed compared to the other plastics. In this study, we focused our efforts to foam at low temperature to improve the foaming problem followed by increasing melt strength PP by blending with ethylene/1-octene copolymers(PEOC). Phase morphology of PP/PEOC blends were investigated to examine the effect of phase morphology on the foaming ratio and cell structure of foams. Phase morphology of PP/PEOC blends were affected by content of PEOC, mixing torque ratio. The higher blowing ratio and more stable cell structure was produced by continuous PP matrix with dispersed droplets of PEOC, and it seems that easiness of bubble nucleation and cell propagation at the interface between PEOC droplet and PP matrix.

        탐진강 하구역의 생물다양성과 생태적 특성 분석 연구

        본 연구는 탐진강 하구역 생물군집의 군집 동태 및 분포 조건을 통해 기수지역 생태계 관리의 기초정보를 제공하기 위해 각 분류군별 전문가들이 정밀 조사한 결과를 분석하였다. 식생을 포함한 총 11개 생물 분류군에 대한 생물종의 다양성, 풍부성, 상관관계 및 생태적 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 식생은 하천의 물리적 환경과 염도 등 서식처 환경조건에 따라 7개 상관형에 18개 단위식생의 분포가 확인 되었다. 생물종 다양성은 멸종위기야생생물 9분류군을 포함해 총 1,125개 분류군이 확인되었다. 각 분류군별 종조성과 분포 특성은 넓은 구간에 걸쳐 형성되는 자연성 높은 기수역의 하구역 특성을 잘 반영하고 있었다. 특히, 하천을 중심으로 유속과 염도, 토성 등 기반환경 차이에 따른 종다양성과 그 분포가 뚜렷하게 구분되었다. 일부구간에 분포하는 물막이보, 인공제방과 같은 인위적 교란요소에도 불구하고 현재의 환경조건 하에서 생물종의 다양성과 그 분포는 전반적으로 자연성 높은 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 물막이보, 간척, 주기적인 제방관리, 경작지 확장 등에 의한 야생생물의 서식처 소실과 축소, 생태계 연결성 단절 등은 지역 생태계의 다양성과 건강성을 위협하는 주요 요인으로 지목되었다. 탐진강 하구역의 생물 분포 현황과 그 특성을 규명하는 최초의 정밀조사로서 탐진강을 비롯한 하구역에 대한 각종 개발압력 및 훼손 위기에 대응 할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. This study was performed to analyze the dynamics and distributional condition of biological community and to support the basic information about the estuarine ecosystem management by using the intensively surveyed results by each taxon experts around Tamjin river. We analyzed the biological diversity, abundance, correlation among species, and ecological characteristics about 11 taxa groups including vegetation, fish, birds, mammals, etc. in the Tamjin river estuarine ecosystem. We classified vegetation types into 7 physiognomic types and 18 communities according to habitat conditions with the physical environments and salinity. In total, 1125 species including 9 species of endangered species were identified in research area. The species composition and distributional characteristics of each taxon were corresponded to the environmental characteristics of the estuarine ecosystem. Especially, the species diversity and distribution were clearly distinguished in the river according to the difference of the environmental factors such as flow rate, salinity, and soil. Despite the disturbance factors such as barrage and levees, the biodiversity and its distribution were evaluated to be high level under the current environmental conditions. However, loss or reduction of wildlife habitat due to reclamation, embankment, barrage installation and expansion of farmland has been identified as a major threat to the diversity and health of the local ecosystem. The results of this study can be used as a basic data to cope with various development pressure and damage crisis of the whole estuaries including Tamjin river.

        Korean traditional village forest (Ma-Eul-Soop) and potential natural vegetation: A case study on the Sachon-Ri Garo-Soop in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea

        Prediction of potential natural vegetation (PNV) requires autochthonous species distributions of a benchmark phytocoenosen. In Korea there remained unique forests or groves, i.e. a traditional Ma-Eul-Soop (MES), in the foothill zone which has influenced by the most aggressively anthropogenic activities since the Neolithic Age. Sachon-ri’s Garo-Soop (SGS) located at the southern-eastern Korean Peninsula has been reputed as the best conserved MES in Korea. We studied SGS for identifying components of the PNV. A total of 1,959 trees in the SGS were measured finescaled GPS locations and diameter at breast height (DBH). Distribution patterns of major species were interpreted by using the MES species ranking class (MSRC) framed by a matrix of phytogeographical and phytosociological autochthons. We consequently found that the SGS was composed of 29 autochthonous species. Cornus walteri, Hemiptelea davidii, Quercus aliena, Zelkova serrata, and Celtis sinensis were identified as the best matched PNV species to the floodplain behind riverbank. A lot of saplings occurring at the forest floor were the major components of PNV too. By the way many allochthonous species have been consistently introduced into the SGS in terms of a man-made forest of most previous works. We suggested that such PNV-unfriendly managements should be promptly stopped.

        Myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder caused by the expansion of cytosine-thymine -guanine (CTG) repeats in the myotonic dystrophy protein kinase (DMPK) gene. Some literatures indicated that DM1 had incidental CNS lesions such as white matter lesions and diffuse gray matter atrophy. We report a patient with DM1 whose brain magnetic resonance image (MRI) showed multifocal hyperintense lesions and cystic lesion on both frontotemporoparietal lobes.

        흉강경을 이용한 폐동정맥루의 수술

        Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula is relatively rare disease, and the most common types are congenital in origin. The clinical presentation of pulmonary arteriovenous fistula ranges from incidental finding on a chest roentgenogram to polycythemia, cyanosis, congestive heart failure, and major neurologic deficits caused by paradoxical embolism. Recently we have experienced a case of asymptomatic, well-localized pulmonary arteriovenous fistula In a 13 years-old female patient, which was successfully treated by thoracoscopic lobectomy.
