        기능성 시작품 제작기술을 이용한 빌드업인쇄회로기판의 제조 공정기술 개발

        Rapid prototyping(RP) has been used for design verification and proto sample or mold manufacturing. Many RP systems have been introduced into the market during the past 15 years. However, until now, the systems have used mainly for external physical models (mono function), and have the basic but critical limitation of one material on one stage (mono material). To overcome the limitations of mono-material and mono-function of conventional. RP systems, the concept of Functional Phototype Development (FPD) is newly proposed in this paper FPD provides the necessary prototype functions such as mechanical, optical, chemical and electrical properties in order to meet the broad requirements of the industry. The paper illustrates the representative achievements of electronic components such as the multi-layer printed circuit board(MLB). Experimental results demonstrate that FPD has great potential applied to broad industrial uses and that It Will be a powerful tool in the neat future.

        Cedecea davisae로 잘못 동정된 Enterobacter hormaechei 감염 2예

        Enterobacteriaceae is a family of gram-negative, rod-shaped bacteria that consists of various species. Among these, members of the genus Cedecea has been reported as relatively rare causative pathogens of human infections. Commercially available automated identification systems that use biochemical reactions are known to accurately identify Enterobacteriaceae species. However, the accurate identification of some organisms with diverse biochemical profiles by these automated identification systems may be problematic. In this study, we report two cases of isolate misidentification, from patients with acute cholecystitis and deep vein thrombosis, as Cedecea davisae with VITEK II system. Both the isolates were correctly identified as Enterobacter hormaechei using gyrB gene sequence analysis. We also performed 16S rRNA sequence analyses and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry analyses; however, indeterminate results were obtained from both the assays. Therefore, the sequence analysis of alternative genes, like gyrB, might be useful for accurate identification of species that belong to the family of Enterobacteriaceae. Enterobacteriaceae는 조건무산소성 그람음성막대균으로 다양한 균종으로 이루어져 있으며, 그중 Cedecea는 임상 검체에서 매우 드물게 분리되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 생화학적 성상을 이용하는 자동화 장비를 통하여 비교적 정확하게 균종 동정이 가능하다고 알려져 있지만, 다양한 생화학적 성상을 나타내는 일부 균속은 자동화 장비에서 정확한 균종 동정에 한계가 있을 수 있다. 저자들은 급성 담낭염 환자와 심부정맥 혈전증 환자에서 분리되어 VITEK II system에서 C. davisae로 동정된 두 그람음성막대균에 대하여 gyrB 유전자 염기서열분석을 시행하였고 그 결과 두 균 모두 C. davisae가 아닌 E. hormaechei임을 확인하였다. 그뿐만 아니라 이들 균에 대하여 시행한 MALDI-TOF MS와 16S rRNA 염기서열 분석 결과에서도 정확하지 않은 동정 결과를 보여 gyrB와 같은 다른 유전자 부위에 대한 직접 염기서열 분석이 Enterobacteriaceae의 정확한 균종 동정에 유용하게 사용될 것으로 생각된다.

        Management of Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase-Positive Gram-Negative Bacterial Urologic Infections

        Extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) are enzymes that confer increased resistance to commonly used antibiotics. The prevalence rates of ESBL producing bacteria are increasing, and the associated increase in morbidity and mortality is becoming a public health concern. ESBL producers are emerging as an important cause of urinary tract infection (UTI) and empirical therapy should therefore be carefully selected for patients with UTI. Fosfomycin or nitrofurantoin would be an appropriate choice for empirical therapy of uncomplicated UTI. Ertapenem or cefepime might be recommended for initial empirical therapy patients suspected of having complicated UTI.

        Necessity of Reticulocyte Calibration for More Accurate and Precise Results

        Dear Editor, Reticulocyte count and immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) are known to be accurate indices of erythropoietic activity [1]. Apart from clinical utility, these parameters are also useful for detecting blood doping in the athletic field [2, 3]. Recently, the XN system (Sysmex, Kobe, Japan) was introduced to the market [4]. Although this new instrument uses the same analytical method for reticulocyte counting as the previous version of the XE system, the number of red blood cells (RBCs) that could be counted during reticulocyte counting was increased to improve the precision; in addition, the XN system introduced a new calibrator (XN CAL, Sysmex) to harmonize the reticulocyte count among different analyzers. Increase in the number of RBCs that can be counted and calibration of the reticulocyte count could contribute to the interchangeability of the results, not only among hospitals but also among anti-doping laboratories. The aim of this study was to demonstrate and quantify the improvement in the performance of reticulocyte parameters in the XN series with calibration.

        쾌속금형제작을 위한 진공주형과 동용침 분말주조기술에 관한 연구

        With the emergence of the 3D CAD, it is possible to create a physical part directly from a digital model by accumulating layers of a given material. The technology is being widely used for checking designs, to create master models for rapid tooling, and for reverse engineering. However, in general, a model created by rapid prototyping technology is made of soft material that cannot be used as mass prouduction hard tool. Newly developed powder casting is suitable for rapid-manufacturing metallic tools. Powder casting can serve as a promising rapid tooling method because of high density characteristics and low dimensional shrinkage below 0.1% during sintering and infiltration. Through this process, we have realized significant time and cost savings eliminating the expense of conventional prototype tooling process.

        Proposal of Modified HIL-indices for Determining Hemolysis, Icterus and Lipemia Interference on the Beckman Coulter AU5800 Automated Platform

        Background: The amount of interference due to hemolysis, bilirubin, and lipemia can be measured on the AU5800 autoanalyzer (Beckman Coulter, USA) by spectrophotometry. This is reported as semi-quantitative indices, specifically H-index, I-index, and L-index, respectively. In this study, we evaluated the impact of interference using chemistry assays and established the concentration of interfering substances and HIL-index above which analytically significant interference exists, according to CLSI guidelines C56-A and EP7-A2. Methods: Pooled sera including different concentrations of analytes were prepared and mixed with hemoglobin, bilirubin, or Intralipid. These samples were then tested for 35 clinical chemistry analytes by AU5800 and the bias based on interferent concentrations was computed. The interferent concentration above which significant interference exists was calculated from the 50% within-subject biological variation (desirable analytic goal), and the corresponding index was assigned. Results: Among 35 items evaluated, interference was detected for 12 analytes by hemoglobin, 7 analytes by bilirubin, and 12 analytes by Intralipid. We proposed HIL-index1 and HIL-index2 for each analyte according to 2 different medical decision levels. HIL-index1 and HIL-index2 were considered more reasonable criteria than the HIL-index from the manufacturer’s technical document (HIL-indexTD). This is because HIL-indexTD was empirically set to 5% or 10%, and had a wide tolerance range, which was not sufficient to reflect the presence of interference, compared to HIL-index1 and HIL-index2. Conclusions: We have demonstrated hemoglobin, bilirubin, and Intralipid interferences according to CLSI guidelines using the desirable analytic goal. Our results provide applicable information for Beckman Coulter automated chemistry analyzers.

        Clostridium ramosum에 의해 발생한 균혈증 2예

        Clostridium ramosum은 그람 양성 절대무산소성 간균으로 비병원성 세균이며 사람의 위장관에 정상 상재균으로 존재한다. 이 균은 Clostridum 균종에서도 비정형적인 특징을 갖는 RIC 그룹에 속하며, 소아에서 중이염, 면역이 저하된 성인 환자에서 다양한 감염을 일으킬 수 있다고 드물게 보고되어 왔다. 하지만 아직까지 국내에는 이 균에 의한 인체감염이 보고된 바가 없어, 저자들은 압박궤양 및 결장암 환자에서 발생한 C. ramosum에 의한 균혈증 2예를 보고하는 바이다.         멀티미디어에 대한 사회적 욕구가 한층 커져감에 따라, 보다 고용량 고효율의 매체에 대한 연구도 활기차게 진행되어 왔다. 그리고 그 미디어에 적합한 파일시스템을 개발 하는 일 또한 꾸준히 진행되어 온 일이다. 여러 파일 시스템 중 하나인 UDF 는 DVD 매체를 위한 파일 시스템으로 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DVD 플레이어에 탑재하기 위해 삼성전자에서 개발한 ARM920T 마이크로 프로세서 코어를 사용하는 임베디드 시스템에 탑재될 실시간 운영체제를 위한 UDF 파일 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 UDF 파일 시스템은 가상 시스템과 연동한다.
