        영어 교과서 게임에 대한 초등학교 4학년 학생들의 인식에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to examine 4th graders` perception of games in Elementary English Textbook 4 and to make suggestions for selecting and developing games conducive to teaching and learning English. A questionnaire survey was administered with the 4th graders on their opinions about English class, interest in the games, and the effects of the games in the textbook on their English learning. One hundred ninety four 4th grade students of C Elementary School in Mokpo, Jeollanamdo participated in the survey. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The students had a relatively high interest in English instruction, and preferred playing games in English instruction; 2) their favorite types of games were bingo games, dice games, card games, board games, memory games, guessing games, drawing games, whispering games, and survey games in that order; 3) in terms of the organization of games, they preferred whole-class work to group work; 4) a majority of students regarded the games as a very effective way of learning English; 5) many students wanted the instructions of games to be demonstrated for better understanding; 6) students responded that the appropriate number of games per unit was 5; 7) games were thought to help students improve speaking skill the most, followed by listening.
