In this paper, both the generalization of one artificial variable technique to the general bound problem and the efficient implementation of the technique are suggested. When the steepest-edge method is used as a pricing rule in the simplex method. it is easy to update the reduced cost and the simplex multiplier every iteration. Therefore, one artificial variable technique is more effiecient than Wolfe's method in which the reduced cost and simplex multiplier must be recalculated in every iteration. When implementing the one artificial variable technique on the LP problems with the general bound restraints on the variables, an arbitrary basic solution which satisfies the bound restraints is sought first, and the artificial column which adjusts the infeasibility is introduced. The phase one of the simplex method minimizes the one artifical variable. The efficient implementation technique includes the splitting, scaling, storage of the artificial column, and the cure of infeasibility problem.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to evaluate the existence of a learning curve for procedures using ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VAB) system in terms of the cumulative sum (CUSUM). Methods: Data from a series of 54 consecutive patients who had undergone ultrasound-guided VAB were reviewed in the study. Patients’ characteristics, operative times, and complication rates were analyzed. The total operation time was analyzed by using the CUSUM method. Results: CUSUM analysis revealed three phases of the learning curve: phase 1 (the initial 15 cases), phase 2 (intermediate 23 cases), and phase 3 (subsequent cases). Operative times, including preparation time, procedure time, and total operation time, in phase 1 were significantly longer than those in phases 2 and 3. Surgical complications were the most frequent in the initial phase (26.7%); however, complication rates were not significantly different among the three groups. Conclusion: The current study showed the three different phases of the learning curve for ultrasound-guided VAB using CUSUM analysis. CUSUM analysis can be used to determine appropriate competency of various procedures in patients with breast diseases.
Solving Robust EOQ Model Using Genetic Algorithm
임성묵 한국경영과학회 2007 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.13 No.1
We consider a (worst-case) robust optimization version of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model. Order setup costs and inventory carrying costs are assumed to have uncertainty in their val-ues, and the uncertainty description of the two parameters is supposed to be given by an ellipsoidal representation. A genetic algorithm combined with Monte Carlo simulation is proposed to approxi-mate the ellipsoidal representation. The objective function of the model under ellipsoidal uncertainty description is derived, and the resulting problem is solved by another genetic algorithm. Computa-tional test results are presented to show the performance of the proposed method.
자율주행 차량통신을 위한 보안솔루션(SCMS: Security Credential Management System)과 시험방법론
임성묵,강범구,정서현,정준시 대한전자공학회 2021 대한전자공학회 학술대회 Vol.2021 No.6
As autonomous driving technology progresses, the importance of vehicle system security is increasing and the requirements for this are gradually strengthening. In this paper, we analyzed the need, advantages, and behavior of SCMS, a security solution for self-driving vehicle communication, and confirmed that SCMS can be a solution to self-driving and connected vehicle communication security because it can guarantee reliable communication between devices through vehicle communication encryption and certificates.
