Non-Special Atmosphere Synthesis for MgB2

A commercial stainless-steel tube was employed to synthesize MgB2 under a non-special atmosphere. The sample was prepared by using a stoichiometric mixture of Mg and B inside a stainlesssteel tube. The specimen was sintered for 2 hours at 900 C in air. X-ray spectra showed there were no second phases like MgO. The transition temperature of the specimen was 37.5 K with a sharp transition width of less than 1 K. The specimen showed a good connection between grains, and the intergranular critical current density as calculated with the Bean model is more than 2 × 105 A/cm2 at 20 K in the zero field. .

MgB$_2$ and FeTi composites was prepared to study the effect of FeTi particles on superconductivity of MgB$_2$. The sample, which had contained magnesium, boron and FeTi particles, was synthesized by the Commercial Stainless Steel Tube Enveloping Technique(COSSET) at 92$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. The structure and properties of the sample was investigated by XRD, SEM, and SQUID magnetometer. It was found that there was a little change of T$_{c}$ compared with pure MgB$_2$ superconductor in spite of high percentage of FeTi particles, and there was no proof of structure change of MgB$_2$ superconductor due to FeTi particles. But the high porosity which was appeared in the pure MgB$_2$ was disappeared in the composites. We conclude that FeTi particles do not influence the superconductivity of MgB$_2$ and it is expected that fe-Ti material system will be a good material for a tube of the PIT process and for a substrate of the film.m.

Torque converter in automatic transmission transfers the engine power to transmission by ATF and lock-up clutch. The lock-up clutch connects the engine torque directly to transmission. At this moment, the relative rotational speed difference between engine and transmission, so the impact may occur. The hook of the driven plate can bear the impact and durability is necessary. In this study, it was checked impact force of driven plate"s hook. Load sensor was bonded in driven plate"s hook. Impact sensor was measured impact force during operating mechanical stopper.
단면 형상 및 국부 보강에 따른 직선 부재의 충돌 성능

Crash performance of the straight member was studied by FE analysis. One end of model was fixed and the other end was impacted by 1,000kg rigid mass with velocity of 16.0m/sec. The maximum and mean load were discussed to compare crash performance. The members with various section shapes were analyzed and the flange location was changed. Also, spot weld points were added in the initial buckling region to investigate its effect. Final rectangular section model which has flanges at the center and reinforcement in initial buckling region showed high enhancement in crash performance.
