A vibration of ferrofluid is studied in a circular straight tubes, assuming that the effect of a ferrofield on a tube friction is constant. The experimental study is carried out for comparison with the theoretical values. The theoretical values are good agreement with the experimental results. The maximum amplitude of vibration increses almost linearly with ferrofluid length in tube within the experimental range. However, the maximum ferrofluid length in tube is restricted by the effective region of the magnetic field, which also restricts the maximum amplitude of vibration. This study is related to the development of ferrofluid actuators. The results abtained from this study are as follows ; 1) The lengths of the maintenace of ferrofluid are 40㎜, 45㎜, 87㎜ in each tube. 2) The maximum amplitude increases almost linealy with the increase of the ferrofluid length in tube with in the experimental range. 3) The natural frequency decreases with the increase of the ferrofluid length in each tube. 4) The maximum amplitude in the resonance shows higher at the low frequency band (3-8 Hz). 5) The maximum amplitude in the resonance being higher frequency band in the smaller tube diameter than in the large one.

The sirocco fan is used to get low noise, and it has been applied to a lot of industry field like the heat engine, the fluid instrument power plant, the food industry, environment industry etc... because there are not problems even it is mixed with a any kind of liquid, gas, and solid. The flow characteristics in sirocco fan are investigated by PIV. The experiment using PIV measurement for Test section's flow characteristics acquired velocity distribution, Condition : when sirocco fan in automobile air controller maximum 1450RPM, and a revolution is a variation (l)950RPM, (2)l100RPM, (3) 1250RPM. The agreement a experiment shows the validity of this study and the results of this study would be useful to the engineers who design for the flow systems

The velocity and pressure distributions in a bifurcated duct are investigated experiment. Physical properties such as mean velocity vectors, mean vorticity and total pressure distributions are obtained for three different Reynolds numbers(578, 620, 688) using PIV measurements and CFD analysis. Also, two different dividing duct(90°) was selected for experimental study. The results of this study would be useful to the engineer in designing the flow systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and wastewater purification plants.

In this paper an experimental investigation of characteristics of developing transitional unsteady flows in a square-sectional 180。 curved duct are presented. The experimental study using air is carried out to measure axial velocity profiles secondary flow velocity profiles and entrance length by using Laser Do ppler Velocimeter(LDV) system. The flow development is found to depend upon Dean number dimensionless angular frequency velocity amplitude ration and cur-vature ratio. Of special interest is the secondary flow generated by centrifugal effects in the plane of the cross-section of the duct. The secondary flows are strong and complicate at entrance region. The entrance length of transitional pulsating flow is obtained to 120。 of bended angle of duct in this experimental conditions.

The purpose of this study is to find out a flow characteristics required by the design of a computer case and to provide information about the preliminary data of cooling efficiency of CPU and a flow inside of a case. We examined a flow characteristic-suction a tracing particle occurred from a surge tand installed at an inlet into a computer case and moving it to a exit duct-experimentally by using PIV. The experimental device was consists of a fan inflowing and discharging the air into the computer case and a slot installed with a CPU cooling ran add-on, and analyzed the data of Re-stress distribution, velocity distribution, and kinetic energy distribution. This research will make a great contribution to improvement of the efficiency and performance of notebook, workstation, server, and all the design of electronic devices using large scale integrated(LSI) as well as usual computers.
