        Soft Tissue Measurement Method Using Radiopaque Material on Cone-beam Computed Tomography: An Ex Vivo Validation Study

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity and reproducibility of a method based on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) technology for the visualization and measurement of gingival soft-tissue dimensions. Material and Methods: A total of 66 selected points in soft-tissue of the ex vivo head of an adult pig were investigated in this study. For the measurement of radiographic thickness (RT), wet softtissue surfaces were lightly covered with barium sulfate powder using a powder spray. CBCT was taken and DICOM files were assessed for soft-tissue thickness measurement at reference points. A periodontal probe and a rubber stop were used for the measurement of trans-gingival probing thickness (TPT). After flap elevation, actual thickness of soft-tissue (actual thickness, AT) was measured. Correlation analysis and intraclass correlation coefficients analysis (ICC) were performed for AT, TPT, and RT. Results: All variables were distributed normally. Strong significant correlations of AT with RT and TPT values were found. The two ICC values between TPT vs. AT and RT vs. AT differed significantly. Conclusion: Our results indicated that correlation of RT was stronger than that of TPT with AT. We concluded that soft tissue measurement with Ⅰ. Introduction : Previously, a noninvasive method using a radiopaque material and periapical radiography to measure the vertical length of the interdental papilla in natural teeth and implants was proposed1-3. By using radiopaque material, it was possible to demarcate soft tissue, without underexposing radiography. However, such two-dimensional information limits the assessment of the whole periodontium. The metric assessment of soft tissue dimensions around teeth and implants is of great clinical interest for the quantification and monitoring of gingival changes during therapies. Gingival soft tissue dimensions play significant roles in the assessment of whole treatment success, and thus should be monitored all through therapy. A lack of gingival thickness showed a tendency towards loss in attachment levels after traumatic, inflammatory, or surgical injuries4. Likewise, orthodontic tooth movement may adversely affect the mucogingival complex, especially at sites in which the keratinized gingiva and underlying bone appeared thin5. Acceptable methods for the accurate quantification of tissue changes when assessing new treatment modalities and materials influencing soft tissues are thus needed6. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used routinely for imaging analyses of the maxillofacial region7. This modality provides clinicians with high-quality diagnostic images and has become an important tool in dentistry. However, the inability of CBCT to distinguish overlapped soft tissues, such as mucogingival thickness on the buccal side of alveolar bone, has limited its application exclusively to the imaging of hard maxillofacial tissues8. Several studies reported using CBCT9-12 for studying soft tissue thickness. Although validation process was not reported, these studies showed us a possibility to study delicate mucogingival soft tissue by retracting overlapped soft tissue. However, one validation study reported that soft tissues less than 0.5mm was not possible to be confirmed in spiral CT, thus making the application of spiral CT in very thin mucosa questionable13. In this study, we describe a method based on CBCT technology for the visualization and measurement of soft tissue dimensions, after demarcating the soft tissue with radiopaque material. The aim of this study was to investigate the validity and reproducibility of this method. Ⅴ. Conclusion : In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that soft tissue measurement with CBCT and radiopaque material could be a reliable method, compared to the trans-gingival probing measurement method, with good validity and reproducibility.

        무역전시회 브랜드 자산과 브랜드 충성도에 관한 연구 - 지각된 참가성과의 매개효과를 중심으로

        본 연구는 전시회 브랜드 자산의 구성요인을 알아보고, 구성요인간의 영향관계 등을 살펴봄으로써 국내 전시회의 브랜드 관리에 필요한 전략적 시사점을 제시하는 것을 목 적으로 한다. 연구의 목적을 효과적으로 달성하여 위하여 무역전시회의 브랜드 자산과 관련하여 선행연구를 실시하였으며, 이를 통한 가설 설정 후 검증을 위해 빈도분석, 요 인분석, 회귀분석 등을 활용하였다. 가설검증 결과 전시 참가업체의 전시회 인지도, 이미지, 지각된 가치 등은 지각된 전 시회 참가성과 및 전시회 브랜드 충성도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 지각된 전시회 참가성과 역시 브랜드 충성도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 지각된 전시회 참가 성과라는 요인이 매개변수로서 전시회 인지도와 지각된 가치가 브랜드 충성도에 미치 는 영향관계에서 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과, 전시 주최자는 전시회 브랜드 관리를 위해서 경쟁사 대비 트렌드와 이슈 를 선점해야 하며, 전시회 전반에 걸쳐 참가업체의 성과 창출에 초점을 맞추어 전시회 브랜드 이미지 및 인지도 관리를 하여야 한다. 또한 전시회 내의 다양한 부대행사 개 최 및 전시회 홍보 등에도 노력을 기울여야 한다. The purpose of this study is to suggest the strategic implications of brand management of trade shows by examining the constituent factors of brand assets and the influence relations among the factors. In order to effectively achieve the purpose of this study, preceding studies are conducted to discover feasible factors among various variables consisting of the trade shows’ brand asset, and frequency analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis are used for verification after setting hypotheses. As a result of the hypothesis test, exhibitors’ recognition, image, and perceived quality on the trade show have significant effects to increase exhibitors’ perceived performance and brand loyalty on the show. The test also indicates that exhibitors’ perceived performance on the trade show has a significant relationship with forming and enforcing exhibitors’ brand loyalty on the show as a mediating parameter. The trade show organizer’s supporting actions increasing exhibitors’ on-site performance, such as buyers matching program, are also required to reinforce brand loyalty of the show.

      • WC-Co 초경 소지에 R.F sputtering법으로 제조한 TiB₂박막의 열처리 특성

        TiB₂ thin films were deposited by R. F sputtering process on the WC-Co cutting tool. The growth rate of as-deposited films increased with R. F power. As-deposited films were amorphous by XRD measurement. The thermal annealing was performed to crystallize as-deposited films at temperature, which was varied from 900℃ to 1100℃. TiB₂ thin films annealed at 900℃ showed TiB₂, TiB peaks. As annealing temperature increased to 1100t, the intensity of the (101) and (110) peaks of TiB2 became sharp. The morphology of as-deposited films exhibited the granular structure by SEM observations. As the R. F power increased, the spherical particles of the films were coalesced and showed the large granular structure. The films annealed at 900℃ showed a fine crystallized grain and columnar structure. Whereas, the melt phase was formed on the surface of the films above 1000℃. The results of EDS analysis of melt phase show that the melt phase was composed of W, Co elements. The hardness of the films annealed increased with increasing thermal annealing temperature. Whereas, in the case of as-deposited films above R. F power 150W, the hardness of the films annealed above 1000℃ decreased because of melt phase.

        포 발사에 따른 쉘터 구조물의 차음 및 구조안전성 연구

        This paper describes the sound insulation and structural safety of the shelter which may be used for shooters. The noise level of the shelter should be less than 100 dB on the basis of the Industrial Safety and Act, the World Health Organization and the MIL-STD. The sound insulation design was designed for the shelter structure. The designed shelter performance was verified by the real measurement after completing the construction of the shelter. The system was also designed using the finite element method with data of sound pressure measured in the test. Its response was obtained numerically. It is proved that the shelter structure is sufficiently safe considering the calculated maximum stress level with the allowable stress of structural property.

        중구경 화포용 소음기 개발을 위한 실험적 연구

        The silencer for the medium caliber gun was studied to reduce the propagation of gun-generated noise from the firing test range to the community. Three types of silencer were made to compare the reduction of sound pressure level and the effect of chamber volume and the exit angle to the reduction of sound pressure was considered. The structural analysis and measurement of pressure in the silencer showed that the structure is safe in terms of strength. The increase of recoil force to buffer must be considered in the development of silencer. The hypothesis test on the muzzle velocity for the existence of silencer showed that there are no difference at the significance level of 0.05.

        화포소음 저감을 위한 차폐재 설치에 관한 실험적 연구

        The paper represents the experimental analysis of the shock noise of medium caliber guns when a projectile is passed through the shielding material. In the study, the shielding material was constructed and tested in three separate experiments. The shielding material was not installed for medium caliber gun in Case 1. A medium caliber gun was fully covered with shielding material in Case 2, and another one was put with shielding material near muzzle in Case 3. In each experiment, the experimental data was compared with each other. Results showed the firing shielding material achieved a significant noise reduction in $90^{\circ}$ to the noise source. Case 3 is confirmed to be better effective than Case 2 in the near field. But, the noise reduction in the far field is small in quantity due to the low frequency. The paper is considered that further study is necessary for the shielding material which can absorb a low frequency noise in the future.
