Purpose: We reviewed 66 cases of the glomus tumors in the hands. The purpose of this study was to review the characteristic signs and symptoms of glomus tumors and the surgical outcomes. We made hypothesis that (1) our guideline for surgical excision are reliable and (2) our surgical technique is efficient and less harmful to the nail root. Materials and Methods: The clinical diagnosis was made with occasional radiological studies and surgical excision was performed according to our indications. Patients with electrical shock-like pain by touching (the essential symptom) and at least 2 of 4 clinical signs and symptoms (cold hypersensitivity, paroxysmal pain that radiated proximally, blue discoloration, nail deformity for dorsal tumor or a palpable nodule for pulp tumor) underwent surgical excision. Results: The duration of symptoms of the patients was about 5.3 years. No difference of prevalence was found in both hands, but the thumb and the middle finger were more affected than the other fingers. The mean follow up period was 2.4 years and none of the patients complained the same characteristic pain at the last visit. Conclusion: To the best of our knowledge, this report is the largest case series about glomus tumors in the finger tip. The clinical signs and symptoms are important to make a diagnosis of glomus tumors, and surgical excision is the treatment of choice.

The purpose of this article to evaluate the availability of the rectus femoris flap in Korean subjects. Material and Methods is that Cadaveric dissections were done on 51 femoral triangles of 26 cadevers. We measured the length of the direct head of rectus femoris from anterior superior iliac spine to patella upper pole, ASIS to lateral border of femoral nerve, and entry point of femoral nerve and vessel branches to rectus. Usually, there were three terminal branches to rectus femoris from the femoral nerve. The entry point of the first branch was at the proximal $17.5{\sim}31.4%$ portion of the rectus femoris. The second and the third branch entered at the proximal $22.5{\sim}40.7%$ and $26.3{\sim}42.3%$, respectively. The vessel entry was at $20.2{\sim}37.3%$. The length from ASIS to femoral nerve was $3.5{\sim}8.5\;cm$. Among the 51 rectus femoris muscles, 44 had one nutrient artery, and 7 had 2 nutrient arteries. The nutrient artery originated from the descending branch of the lateral femoral circumflex artery in 18(40.9%) cases, directly from the lateral femoral circumflex artery in 8(18.0%) cases, and from proximal(6 cases, 13.6%) and distal(12 cases, 27.3%) portion of the deep femoral artery. The average length of the nutrient artery was 29.8 mm and the width was 2.14 mm. The point where it meets the main feeding artery of the rectus femoris was $9.0{\sim}15.0\;cm$ from the ASIS. In all cases, the main artery's entrance was proximal to the first nerve branch. Conclusion is that rectus femoris has available data for functional flap.
진해만 북부 해역에 분포하는 부유성 난 및 자치어의 종조성 및 양적변동

Fish eggs and larvae were collected in July and November of 2013 and January and May of 2014 to determine seasonal variation in the species composition of ichtyoplankton. Samples were classified based on morphological characteristics. Fish eggs were identified as belonging to five taxa; the most dominant species of fish eggs was Engraulis japonicus (62.05%) followed by Sardinops melanostictus (21.02%) and Leiognathus nuchalis (13.71%). These three species accounted for 96.8% of the total number of fish eggs collected. Larvae of 17 species in six families, and six orders were collected. The most dominant species of fish larvae was E. japonicus (51.79%), followed by L. nuchalis (12.59%) and Omobranchus elegans (12.08%). These three species accounted for 76.46% of the total number of larvae collected. Jinhae Bay was identified as a major spawning and nursery ground for fish species inhabiting in the south coast of Korea, such as E. japonicus, L. nuchalis, S. melanostictus, and Omobranchus elegans. Therefore, management of marine fish resources in the South Sea should necessarily include the ecological management of Jinhae Bay.

Fluctuation in the abundance and species composition of fishes in the coastal waters of Heuksan-do, Shinan, Jeollanam-do, Korea were investigated from 2013 to 2015. A total of 2,044 fishes were sampled and classified into 94 species, 56 families, and 15 orders. The dominant species was Engraulis japonicus (217 individuals, 1,918 g), followed by Leiognathus nuchalis (198 individuals, 3,016 g), and Coilia nasus (121 individuals, 2,129 g). The highest number of individuals was found in 2013, while the biomass was the highest in 2015. The diversity index was the highest in 2013 (Hʹ=3.692) and the lowest in 2015 (Hʹ=3.561). The dominance index was the highest in 2015 (D=0.312) and the lowest in 2013 (D=0.220). The richness index was the highest in 2014 (RI=12.440) and the lowest in 2015 (RI=11.050). The economically important species in this area are Okamejei kenojei, Beringraja pulchra, Conger myriaster, Coelorinchus multispinulosus, Lophiomus setigerus, Sebastes schlegeli, Leiognathus nuchalis, Larimichthys polyactis, and Trichiurus lepturus.

N/A The 7S collagen is a large collageneous fragment of basement membrane, which was recent- ly reported to have increased activity in various liver diseases. In order to deterrnine whether 7S collagen concentrations of serum and ascites is helpful to make diagnosis of various liver diseases, we measured 7S collagen concentrations of serum and ascites in various liver diseas- es. Normal values obtained from 20 healthy controls were 3.12k0.70ng/ml for 7S collagen concentration in the serum. Serum concentrations of the 7S collagen exceeding 4.52ng/ml (Mean+2SD) was defined as positive. The mean values of 7S collagen concentration of serum were 5.65k3.20ng/ml in chronic hepatitis, 5.21+4.67ng/rnl in acute hepatitis, 12.54k5.45ng/ ml in liver cirrhosis, and 10.05k4.72ng/ml in hepatoma. The positive rate was extremely high in hepatoma (100%) and liver cirrhosis(97.1%) but low in chronic hepatitis(59.9%) and acute hepatitis(33.3%). The mean values of 7S collagen concentration in ascites were 59.05+ 18.20ng/ml in liver cirrhosis and 55.32k4.23ng/ml in hepatoma. The 7S collagen concentra- tion of ascites shows no parallel correlation to that of serum in patients with ascites.(Korean J Gastroenterol 1994; 26: 655 661)
청어(Clupea pallasii)의 난발생 및 자어의 형태

이 연구는 2004년 2월 12일에 여수시 돌산읍 하동주변해역에서 해조류에 부착되어있는 수정난과 이각망을 이용하여 채집한 어미를 전남대학교 자원생물 실험실로 운반하고 건식법으로 수정한 난의 발생과정 및 부화한 자어를 관찰하였다. 청어의 수정난은 구형의 무색투명한 침성점착난으로 난황이 벌집과 같은 형태이고, 난경은 1.31~1.43㎜(n=50)이었다. 수정 후 42분이 경과하여 배반이 형성되기 시작하였고, 수정 후 1시간 48분 후에 2세포기에 달하였다. 분화가 계속 진행되면서 수정 후 11시간 13분 후에 상실기에 달하였으며, 수정 후 21시간 46분만에 포배기에 달하였다. 수정 후 27시간 58분에 배체가 형성되기 시작하였고, 수정 후 44시간 34분에 렌즈와 이포가 형성되었으며, 수정 후 67시간 30분에는 렌즈가 착색과 가슴지느러미가 분화하였다. 수정 후 96시간 56분에 첫 부화가 시작되었다. 부화 직후 자어는 전장이 평균 6.82 ㎜로 난황을 달고 있었고, 입과 항문은 열려 있지 않았으며, 항문은 전장의 75~80%에 위치하였다. 흑색소포는 나타나지 않았고, 근절은 40~43개였으며, 지느러미는 막상 이었다. 부화 후 1일째 자어는 평균 전장이 7.15㎜로, 입과 항문이 열리기 시작하였다. 부화 후 6일째 자어는 평균전장이 8.99㎜로 난황이 완전히 흡수되었다. 부화 후 20일째 자어는 꼬리말단이 휘어지기 시작하였고, 등지느러미 부분에 5~6개의 줄기가 나타났다. In order to monitor the early developmental features of the Pacific herring, Clupea pallasii larvae and embryos, the fertilized eggs were artificially inseminated by dry method. The fertilized eggs were colorless and transparent spherical, and demersal and adhesive. The diameter of fertilized eggs was 1.31~1.43 mm (n=50). The fertilized eggs started to hatch at 96 hrs 56 min after fertilization. The total length of the hatched larvae was 6.82 mm. At hatching, the mouth and anus of the larva were not opened yet showing yolk sack and 40~43 myomeres. Yolk was completely absorbed at 6 days after hatching and the total length of post-larvae was 8.99 mm. At the 13 days after hatching, the end of tail fin became curved and the 5~6 stems were appeared at dorsal fin.
진도 연안에 출현하는 부유성 난과 자치어의 종조성 및 변동

진도 연안의 수질환경 및 군집구조의 변화를 10년 전의 연구와 비교 분석 하고자, 2011년 4월, 7월 10월과 2012년 1월까지 총 4회에 걸쳐 진도 연안에 출현하는 부유성 난 및 자치어를 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 확인된 어류는 총 8목 20과 26종 1,546.9 inds./1,000 ㎥이었으며, 우점종에 있어서 멸치가 911.4 inds./1,000 ㎥로 58.92%, 전어가 220.1 inds./1,000 ㎥로 14.23%, 준치가 89.9 inds./1,000 ㎥로 5.81% 순으로 우점하였다. 종다양도 지수와 균등도 지수 및 우점도 지수를 비교해 보았을 때, 유사한 값을 보였지만 10월에는 약간의 차이가 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 4월과 7월에 52.66%로 가장 높은 종간 유사성을 확인할 수 있었다. To determine change and species composition of fish larva and juveniles, samples were collected by RN 80Net in coastal waters of Jindo from April, 2011 to January, 2012. During the study, the collected fish eggs were identified as belonging to 8 species. The most of dominant species Engraulis kaponicus were accounted for 79.85% of the total fish eggs, followed by Leiognathus nuchalis (7.58%), Konosirus punctatus (4.85%). The collected fish larvae and juveniles were identified 26 species, 20 family, 8 order. The most of dominant species Engraulis japonicus accounted for 58.92% of the number of the total fish larvae and juveniles, Konosirus punctatus (14.23%), Ilisha elongata (5.81%).
