        델파이 방법을 이용한 노인전문치과위생사 핵심역량 도출

        Objectives: This study derived the core competencies for developing a curriculum for advanced practice dental hygienists in the elderly. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted thrice times with 12 subjects engaged in dental hygiene-related activities for the elderly. Results: The item with the highest average in each domain was 'understanding the elderly (mean=5.00)' in basic qualities and attitude competency, 'understanding the oral health characteristics of the elderly (mean=5.00)' in the job competency, and 'development and evaluation of oral health programs for the elderly (mean=4.75)' in job support competency. Conclusions: The core competencies of dental hygienists specializing in the elderly are divided into 3 'basic qualifications and attitude competencies', 'job competencies', and 'job support competencies' 27 sub-competencies are presented.

        Antimutagenic Effect of Insoluble Dietary Fibers from Some Green Yellow Vegatagles and Soybean by Binding the Carcinogens

        The antimutagenic effects of insoluble dietary fibers(IDF) extracted from some green-yellow vegetables(kale, carrot, spinach, broccoli and soybean sprout) and soybean by binding the carcinogens of MeIQ (2-amino-3,4- dimethyl-imidazo(4,5-f) quinoline) and Trp-P-2(3-amino-1-methyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b] indole) in Salmonella tylhimirium TA100 and TA98 were studied. All of the insoluble dietary fiber samples which binded MeIQ exhibited high antimutagenic effects by removing the mutagen. Among the samples, IDFs from kale and soybean showed strong binding capacity fo the carcinogen and revealed about 90% of the antimutagenic activity. the IDF samples showed somewhat lower binding capacity to the Trp-p-2. The lignin which extracted from kale, soybean and carrot, and the cellulose strongly removed the mutagenicity of MeIQ by the binding. Among the samples, the level of lignin in kale revealed the highest(about 10%), and it seemed that the higher content of lignin in kale is one of the reasons to increase its antimutagenic effect.

        품종별 장미꽃 메탄올 추출물의 항염증 효과

        본 연구에서는 장미꽃 methanol 추출물의 항염증 활성을 조사하기 위하여 LPS에 의해 염증이 유도된 RAW 264.7 대식세포에서 염증억제 효과를 알아보았다. 염증 억제의 지표로서는 세포가 방출하는 NO 생성량과 iNOS 및 $NF-{\kappa}B$ 발현 정도를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, RAW 264.7 대식세포에 대한 품종별 장미꽃 methanol 추출물($500{\mu}g/mL$)이 NO의 함량을 감소시키는 경향을 나타내었다. NO의 생성에 영향을 미치는 iNOS 단백질의 발현량을 측정한 결과, LPS 처리에 의해 활성화된 iNOS 단백질의 발현이 장미꽃 methanol 추출물 처리 시 유의적으로 수준으로 억제하는 경향을 보였다. Luciferase activity를 실행한 결과, LPS로 자극한 세포와 비교하였을 때 염증과 관련된 $NF-{\kappa}B$ promoter activity가 장미꽃 methanol 추출물 처리시 현저히 감소하는 경향을 나타내었고, 세포질의 $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$의 인산화를 저해함으로써 전사요소인 $NF-{\kappa}B$ p65, p50을 핵 속으로 유리시키는 과정을 억제하였다. 이 결과로 장미꽃 methanol 추출물이 전사단계에서 저해활성을 나타낸다는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과, 장미꽃 methanol 추출물은 항염증 효과를 나타냄에 따라 만성 질환 예방을 위한 기능성 식품의 원료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다. The genus Rosa (Rosaceae) is an abundant source of phenolics and is traditionally used as a food supplement and as herbal medicine. Various plant phenolics are known to have anticancer, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of rose methanolic extracts (RMEs) from four different rose cultivars (Macarena, Onnuri, Oklahoma, and Colorado) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated RAW 264.7 cells. Our results demonstrated that pretreatment of REMs ($500{\mu}g/mL$) significantly reduced NO production by suppressing iNOS protein expression in LPS-stimulated cells. Anti-inflammatory effects by RMEs were observed in the following order: Oklahoma > Colorado > Onnuri > Macarena. Consistent with this finding, RMEs inhibited the translocation of $NF-{\kappa}B$ from the cytosol to the nucleus via the suppression of $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$ phosphorylation and also inhibited LPS-stimulated $NF-{\kappa}B$ transcriptional activity. These findings suggest that RMEs exert anti-inflammatory actions and help to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the potential therapeutic values of RMEs. Therefore, RMEs could be regarded as a potential source of natural anti-inflammatory agents.

        태안해안국립공원 식생 현황과 공간분포 특성

        This study aims to figure out the vegetation status and characteristics of the spatial distribution in Taeanhaean National Park. As a result, vegetation communities were Pinus thunbergii community, Pinus densiflora community, Pinus thunbergii-Pinus densiflora community, Camellia japonica community, Carpinus turczaninowii community, Carpinus turczaninowii-Pinus thunbergii community, Kalopanax septemlobus community, Koelreuteria paniculata community, Robinia pseudoacacia community, and sand dune and coastal wetland vegetation including Vitex rotundifolia community, Elymus mollis community, Calamagrostis epigeios community, Ischaemum anthephoroides community, Zoysia sinica community, Suaeda maritima community, and Phragmites communis community. Landscape types in actual vegetation map were Pinus thunbergii community (3.92%), Pinus densiflora community (1.40%), Robinia pseudoacacia community (0.05%), sand dune and coastal wetland vegetation (0.11%), field (0.46%), seashore (0.24%), thinning area (0.08%), bareground (0.16%), and sea (93.58%). Area of Pinus thunbergii community among vegetation type was 14.797 km2 (3.92%) and the largest. Stratification structure and species composition of Pinus thunbergii community distributed in the seashore were different as a result of disturbance and human use. On the other hand, we assumed that succession will take place to the potential natural vegetation that is Quercus serrata and Quercus dentata in undisturbed Pinus thunbergii community. Meanwhile, Erechtites hieracifolia was occupied in understory of Pinus thunbergii community around the seashore and Diodia teres was invaded to sand dune vegetation. They may affect on natural species negatively. Therefore, monitoring and management plans are necessary.

        성인남녀의 가족건강성 관련변인

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effective variables which influence family strengths. In particular, influencing variables were analyzed according to sex, generation, and family pattern. There were 703 participants aged over 20 years in Gwangju and Seoul. All participants completed a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using SPSS. The results were as follows: 1. The average scores of family strengths were higher than the median. Regarding subdimensions, ``value system sharing`` had the lowest score. 2. Family strengths were related to its subdimension and some variables. 3. Family strengths were influenced by living condition, self-esteem, depression, the cognition of family function, and family value orientations. However, the influencing variables were different according to sex, generation, and family patterns. In conclusion, in order to improve family strengths, it is necessary to develop ``value system sharing``, enhance self-esteem, and reduce depression. Further, when we deal with family strengths, it is necessary to vary methodology.

        당근 첨가가 채소즙(녹즙)에서 비타민 C의 안정성에 미치는 영향

        AsA 수용액 또는 당근즙액 또는 당근을 첨가한 채소즙들에서 반응시간과 온도에 따른 ascorbic acid(AsA)와 dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA)의 함량 변화를 HPLC를 이용하여 정량분석하였다. 당근즙액에 있는 AsA가 물에 있는 AsA 보다 더 안정한 것으로 나타났고, AsA 수용액과 AsA+ 당근즙액에 있는 AsA의 함량은 반응시간과 저장온도의 증가에 의해 점차로 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 냉장온도(4℃)에서 2시간, 24시간 보관된 당근즙액과 당근+채소즙액의 AsA 함량도 시간경과에 따라 점차로 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 당근즙액 또는 당근을 첨가한 채소즙의 AsA, DHAA, 총 비타민 C 함량은 냉장온도에서 2, 24시간 보관함에 따라, 모든 시료의 AsA 함량은 시간경과에 따라 점차적으로 파괴되었지만, DHAA 함량은 서서히 증가하는 것으로 나타나 총 비타민 C(AsA+DHAA)의 값은 2시간 저온에서 방치시 90~97%의 높은 비타민 C의 잔존율을 가졌으며, 24시간 방치시에도 총 비타민 C 함량에 대한 큰 변화는 없었다. 결국 저온 보관시 당근 첨가에 의한 채소 즙액의 총 비타민 C의 손실은 거의 없는 것으로 확인 되었다. The changes of ascorbic acid(AsA) and dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA) contents in distilled water, carrot juice, and carrot+vegetable juices under different incubation time and temperature were determined by using high performance liquid chromatography. AsA in carrot juice was more stable than that in distilled water. AsA contents in distilled water and carrot juice were gradually reduced in a time and temperature dependent manner. AsA contents in carrot juice and carrot+vegetable juices stored in refrigerator(4℃) for 2 and 24 hours appeared to decrease, but the DHAA contents in all samples increased. Total vitamin C(AsA+DHAA) contents in carrot juice and carrot+vegetable juices remained with the high residue values of 90~97% after incubating at 4℃ for 2 and 24 hours.

        Salmonella 실험계에서 케일즙액의 항돌연변이 효과와 활성획분

        케일즙액이 AFB₁와 MNNG의 돌연변이성을 억제하는지를 Salmonella 실험계를 이용하여 검토하였다. 케일즙액의 동결건조물은 S. typhimurium TA100균주 뿐만 아니라 TA98균주에서 AFB₁의 돌연변이성을 상당히 억제하였으며, MNNG의 경우에는 시료농도가 높아질수록 항돌연변이 활성이 감소되었다. 투석(>12,000, Mw)을 한 후, 투석 케일즙액은 AFB₁에 대해 42.3~89.5%의 돌연변이유발 억제효과를 가졌고, MNNG에 대해서는 전혀 돌연변이 저해효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 케일즙액을 가열처리한 시료는 AFB₁과 MNNG 모두에서의 돌연변이성을 억제하지 못하는 것으로 나타나, 열처리시 AFB₁에 대한 항돌연변이 활성이 소실된 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 케일즙액의 활성물질을 분리하기 위해 케일즙액의 투석물을 gel filtration하여 획분 13이 AFB₁에 대해 가장 높은 77.8%의 항돌연변이성을 가지는 것으로 관찰되었고, 획분 12~17에서 총 phenol 함량이 158~298㎍/ml로써 높은 값을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 획분 13에서 활성물질로 추정되는 물질은 분자량이 27만이며 열에 불안정한 당단백질일 것이라고 추측되어진다. Antimutagenic effects of kale juice on the mutagenicity induced by aflatoxin B₁(AFB₁) and N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG) in Salmonella assay system were studied. The freeze dried kale juice significantly reduced the mutagenicity induced by AFB₁ in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 and TA98. However, the kale juice exhibited less inhibitory effect on the mutagenicity induced by MNNG as the concentrations of the juice sample increased. Also, kale juice after dialysis (>12,000, Mw) appeared to have 42.3~89.5% of inhibitory effects against AFB₁, however, the dialyzate did not show any inhibitory effect against MNNG. After heating, the kale juice exerted no antimutagenic activities on the mutagenicity of AFB₁ and MNNG. To separate and identify the antimutagenic compounds from the kale juice, the dialyzates were further fractionated by using Sepharose CL-6B-200 gel filtration. Fraction number 13 showed the strong antimutagenic activity against AFB₁, and the fraction exhibited positive results of a characterized colour reactions of protein, carbohydrate and phenolic compound. Therefore, one of the possible active compounds from the kale juice was supposed to a glycoprotein (Mw. 270,000) which seemed unstable with heating.

        시민성 관점에서 본 자원활동

        The dualism between altruistic volunteering and citizen participation based on ideal of citizenship rights begins to dissolve. The aim of this study is to discuss the value of volunteering from the perspective of citizenship theory and to classify diverse volunteer activities according to its function in enhancing the citizenship. At first, based on the conceptual assumption that citizenship includes both citizenship rights and civility (or civic virtue), it is argued for the careful balance between universal citizenship rights and civility in Korean context where the importance of civility for realizing inclusive citizenship had been somewhat neglected: fostering civility must be a part of realizing citizenship rights. It needs, however, a critical approach on the widely accepted usage of civility among Koreans, in order to avoid the risk of misuse: the word has often been used in terms of national ethics for the authoritarian governments to mobilize the people toward its one single goal of development. Therefore, it should be noted three things: at first, fostering civility must be balanced with the concern in rights of individuals; at second, “the public sphere” or the political sphere is not the only field in which citizenship with self-esteem and self-fulfillment can be trained and enhanced. But it must expand to include every part of life, which needs to rethink the traditional approach to private-public divide. At last, civility should not appeal to member s sense of belonging based on homogeneity. Next, the author explores the distinction between “Dutiful Citizenship(DC) and “Actualizing Citizenship(AC)” suggested by Bennett. While DC is characterized by the sense of belonging and commitment to a political community which determines moral virtue of the citizens in a territorial boundary, new media and globalization triggered a new type of citizenship which features interactive and expressive participation and flexible identity (re)constructed with the everyday experiences of transgression across borders. Eventually, the author classifies diverse volunteering with 2 dimensions: kinds of citizenship in DC and AC which corresponds to demand-oriented approach and supply-oriented approach respectively in the voluntary sector theory; expressive-instrumental rationale. Emerging new patters of volunteering such as volunteering in social enterprise, pro bono volunteering, and episodic volunteering, volunteering in “community building project” and apartment volunteer team are examined from the perspective of Actualizing Citizenship. 선한 사람의 자원봉사활동과 보편적 권리 의식에 기반을 둔 시민참여라는 기존의 이분법이 급속히 깨어지고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 배경에서 자원활동의 의의를 시민성 이론의 관점에서 정립하고, 시민성 강화를 위한 기능을 중심으로 다양한 자원활동을 유형화 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저, ‘시티즌십(citizenship)’ 개념이 시민권과 시민성을 포괄한다는 것에서 출발하여, 한국적 상황에서 보편적 권리로서 시민권과 시민에게 요구되는 바람직한 덕목으로서 시민성 사이에 균형이 필요하다는 인식이 확산되고 있음을 지적한다. 단, 애국주의적 전체주의로 빠질 위험을 방지하기 위해, 시민성에 대한 강조는 다음과 같은 조건을 필요로 한다. 첫째, 개인의 권리 인식과의 균형이 중요하다. 둘째, 자긍심과 자기충족감을 가지고 시민성을 발현하는 것이 정치적 영역 혹은 공적인 영역에 국한되지 않고 일상생활 전반으로 확대되어야 한다. 마지막으로, 시민성은 동질성에 기초한 소속감에 호소해서는 안 된다. 이러한 기초 위에서 베넷의 “의무적 시민성(DC)”과 “실현적 시민성(AC)”의 구분을 소개하 면서, 새로운 미디어 환경의 확산, 글로벌라이제이션의 진전 등의 결과로 등장하는 새로운 유형의 시민, 즉 상호적이며 표현적인 참여와, 경계 이동의 일상문화적 경험을 통해 재구성되는 유연한 정체성을 특징으로 하는 새로운 시민에 부합하는 새로운 시민성 요구를 제안한다. 자원활동의 유형 구분과 관련하여, 의무적 시민성에 기초한 자원활동이 수요중심적 접근이라고 한다면, 실현적 시민성을 지향하는 자원활동은 공급중심적 접근에 해당한다. 자원활동에 대한 공급중심적 접근으로서 사회적 기업, 재능기부형 자원활동, 일화적 자원활동(episodic volunteering), 마을만들기 및 아파트봉사단 등을 예로 들고, 이를 실현적 시민성의 관점에서 해석한다.
