This paper described the method and the result of making a dynamic fiber optic gyrocompass measuring the heading angles of ships by processing the output signal from a constant rotating fiber optic sensor and also showed the measurement to test the performance of our system. Considerig an economical view we designed and ordered a cheap medium grade fiber densors increased not fiber length but the diameter of a fiber sensing loop. The scale factor and noise was 267mV/deg/s and 2 deg/hr/$\sqrt{Hz}(1{\sigma})$, respectively. We made the dynamic fiber optic gyrocompass by this sensor. We measured the heading angles in an arbitrary direction to evaluate the accuracy of our system and the root mean square error was $0.4^\circ$. Moreover, we measured the angles ineach direction of $45^\circ$. successive rotation to know whether this system has distoritions in a specific direction or not and the root mean square error in this case was $0.5^\circ$.
경량전철사업의 RAMS 활동을 지원하기 위한 SE전산도구 적용에 관한 연구

There have been growing demand of Light Rail Transit(LRT) which have a lot of advantages such as construction costs lower than the recent subway, reduction of operational costs, availability of line planning, operation of railway non-beneficiary region, flexible operations of trains, unmanned operation and also have eco-friendly advantages, it is now becoming urban railway systems when environmental issues have been highlighted all over the world. Therefore, RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) Process and activities for effective implementation of light rail transit projects have become a very important element, and also the utilization of computerized tools to perform these more systematically and productively is sought after these days. In this paper, we have presented a plan that can support the RAMS activities by utilizing the function of the computerized SE(Systems Engineering) tool(CORE$^{(R)}$). Through support of the computerized SE tool, it would be possible more clear and efficient railway project execution.

We report on a case of a patient with laryngo-tracheobronchial amyloidosis who complained of cough, sputum, and hoarseness. A chest X-ray showed consolidation in the right middle lobe. A chest CT scan showed diffuse, irregular narrowing of the tracheobronchial tree and atelectasis of the right middle lobe, with calcification of bronchial wall. Bronchoscopic findings were multinodular submucosal thickening of the right vocal cord, and yellowish multinodular submucosal thickening from the lower trachea through both main bronchi, as well as the lingular division of the left upper lobe, the right middle lobe, and the right lower lobe. The right middle lobe bronchus was nearly obstructed. The diagnosis of amyloidosis was made by multiple bronchoscopic biopsies on the right vocal cord and both bronchi. Pathologic findings were characteristic apple-green birefringence under polarized microscopy with Congo-red stain. The patient had no evidence of systemic amyloidosis. The patient is under conservative symptomatic treatment. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2008;65:532-536)
EM 시뮬레이션 기반 다중 포트 Y-파라미터를 이용한 변위된 인터디지털 여파기 설계

본 논문에서는 EM(Electro-Magnetic) 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻어진 Y-파라미터로부터 계산된 인버터(inverter) 파라미터와 공진기의 서셉턴스(susceptance) 기울기 파라미터를 이용한 체비셰프(Chebyshev) 5단 변위된 인터디지털(interdigital) 대역 통과 여파기를 설계하였다. 변위된 인터디지털 여파기의 공진기는 전달 영점이 중심 주파수로부터 최대로 이격되는 변위 길이를 결정한다. 여파기를 입ㆍ출력부, 외곽 및 중앙 공진기로 분해하여 개별 공진기의 EM 시뮬레이션 결과로 대역 통과 여파기의 초기 설계 치수를 결정한다. 이 여파기는 비인접 공진기간의 결합으로 인해 주파수 응답 특성이 다소 왜곡된다. 이에 대하여 여파기는 형상 파라미터를 일정한 비율로스윕(sweep)하여 EM 시뮬레이션 데이터세트(dataset)를 얻는다. 이 데이터 공간에서 최적화 과정으로 최종 치수를 결정한다. 이를 바탕으로 PCB로 제작한 여파기는 중심 주파수가 약 70 ㎒ 상향 이동한 특성을 보이는데, 이는 기판의 물성 변화와 제작 공차로 발생한 것으로 보인다. In this paper, we present a design of a 5th order Chebyshev interdigital band-pass filter using inverter and susceptance slope parameter values obtained from EM simulated multi-port Y-parameters. The shifted length of the resonator is determined when the frequency of the transmission zero is separated far away from the center frequency. For the initial dimensions of the interdigital filter, the filter is decomposed into the individual resonators, and the dimensions are obtained using EM Simulation of the decomposed resonators. However, the interdigital filter with the dimensions determined from the EM simulation of the decomposed resonators shows slightly distorted response from the desired frequency response due to the coupling between non-adjacent resonators. To obtain a EM simulation dataset, EM simulation for this filter is carried out by parameter sweep with constant ratio for the initial values. In this dataset, it is determined the final values for the filter by optimization. The fabricated filter by PCB shows an upper-shift of center frequency of about 70 ㎒, which was caused by permittivity changed and tolerance of fabrication.

A fiber optic gyrocompass for ships was made in consideration of cost, reliability and convenience. In order to reduce the cost a cheaper fiber sensor was used in this system. The accuracy was increased by replacing a 180ppr-slit disk with a 1000ppr-encoder. The reliability was also increased by improving the signal processing electronics. This system was made as a heading display type for convenience. Although more inexpensive FOG than that of the previous system was used, the accuracy of this compass was increased about 0.5˚. Moreover, it has a very fast warm-up time of about 5 minutes. Therefore, this compass can show the prospect of practical use on ships if it is installed on a stabilizer against the dynamic motion such as rolling and pitching.
