인공지능과 영재교육의 미래: 정보과학 영재교육의 확대 발전을 위한 코딩에서 영어 능숙도 제고의 필요성 연구

본 연구의 목적은 4차 산업혁명의 핵심 분야인 인공지능개발과 가장 밀접한 상관관계에 있는 정보과학 영재교육의 국내 현황을 문헌조사를 통해 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 인공지능 제작 역량을 갖출 수 있는 정보과학 영재교육의 확대 육성 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 또한 세계 최초의 컴퓨터를 개발하고 지속적으로 세계 최고 수준의 프로그래밍 기술과 인공지능기술을 발달시켜온 영어권 국가들의 실증적 사례들을 통하여 미래의 탁월한 프로그래머가 될 영재학생들에게 영어 능숙도 제고가 왜 필수적인지에 대하여 분석해 보았다. 기반 통계 데이터는 한국교육개발원 GED 공식자료를 활용하였다. 4차 산업혁명은 영재교육분야에도 강력한 변화를 요구하고 있다. 그럼에도 2018년도 현장에서 정보과학 영재교육을 전담 실시하고 있는 기관은 전체 2,684개 기관 중 139개로 5.1%에 불과하다. 2,430개로 90.5%라는 절대적 비중의 수학, 과학과목에 비하면 극소수이다. 그나마 각종 프로그래밍과 소프트웨어 중·고급과정은 대학부설 기관이 주도하고 있다. 이는 타 과목에 비하여 많은 예산과 시설확보, 프로그래밍 전문 인력이 필요한 정보과학 영재교육의 특성 및 대학입시의 반영 비율이 현저히 낮은 것에서 기인한 것이라 볼 수 있다. 또한 본 논문은 2018-19학년도부터 초중등과정에 코딩교육이 정규과목으로 편성되는 것을 정보과학 영재교육의 위기이자 기회로 분석하였다. 한국학술정보원(KERIS)의 일반 코딩교육 지침서의 내용을 근거로 하였다. 이에 본 논문은 이러한 위기를 타개하고 정보과학 영재교육을 확대 육성 발전시키기 위하여 영어 능숙도를 함께 높여야 하는 필요성을 구체적으로 검토하고 이에 대한 방안을 제시하였다.

Resurrection as Bakhtinian Metamorphosis: Historicizing Education in David Copperfield

This paper explores Dickens’s David Copperfield with the perspective of Bakhtinian metamorphosis. In analyzing the text, this paper depicts two different types of metamorphoses depending on the direction: first, transmogrification, a change from the position of glory down to a social death, second, resurrection, a returning change from such a social death back to the position. With interests, the significant episodes for the metamorphoses are created in relation to education of England. As the biographical work of Dickens, David Copperfield reveals the novelist’s being separated from his family at the age of ten, due to his father’s debt, and labor in a factory until he made a great success in writings. This paper portrays how such personal aspects of Dickens could be employed throughout the text in reviewing it with Bakhtin’s dialogic analysis.

This paper explores certain elements of Bakhtin’s dialogic analysis: its philosophical backgrounds in relation to Kantianism and Neo-Kantianisn, its semiotic or translinguistic aspects in comparison with Saussure’s langue and parole, its discussion of Freudian psychology in consideration of consciousness as the essentiality to identify self and other. Finally, this paper explicates how Bakhtin tried to perceive and apply heteroglossia and polyphony to analyze the novel genre. In fact, heteroglossia, as the extended and more comprehensive version of polyphony, and polyphony may be titled as the representation of dialogism in literary text. In his theoretical works of literary genre, Bakhtin considered them primary elements to analyze the nature of the novel. Bakhtin was very fascinated in studying novel, since he thought that a novel is the arena of linguistic conflicts where a variety of philosophical, linguistic, and psychological facets are depicted through the characters’ dialogic interactions. Thus, this paper considers heteroglossia and polyphony, two substantial terms delineating Bakhtin’s dialogism, based on the study of its relations to other academic fields such as philosophy, linguistics, and psychology. Bakhtin defined dialogism as the event of co-being formulated through relations to other(s).

Bakhtinian Dialogic Discourse This article examines Bakhtin's dialogic discourse and reconsiders its elements such as heteroglossia, polyphony, and carnivalism. Heteroglossia is the conflictive languages which are heard through social and cultural discourses among the characters in literary works. In contrast to heteroglossia, polyphony is the discourses, which are generated through individuals' personal issues. Nevertheless, like heteroglossia, it also allows us to hear double-or multiple-voiced language. Bakhtin developed them to analyze literary genres. Carnivalism is considered as a comprehensive being of heteroglossia and polyphony. This article explores it as the element of Bakhtin's dialogic discourse showing both aspects of heteroglossia and polyphony. In particular, in relation to socio-historical implications of the elements, Bakhtin utilized them to describe the definition of novel and its position in literature.

Restoring the Fantasy Literature to Its Former Popularity with the Advanced Digital Technology and Norse Mythology in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

This paper explores J. R. R. Tolkien’s fantasy novel, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy in order to analogize two primary sources which enabled the fantasy literature to be restored to its former popularity in 1930’s-50’s. First source is the cinematization of the original novel, based on the advanced digital technology, and second, the adaptation of Norse mythology to the original novel. The advanced digital technology rendered a distinguished contribution to the resurrection of the fantasy novel today. Peter Jackson, the director of the film trilogy, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy gained an un-heard popularity in the history of the fantasy movie. It was practicable with the advanced digital technology. Nevertheless, it could be realized only with the fact that J. R. R. Tolkien’s original novel retains the excellence of plot. The episodes of the novel present the author’s broad knowledge of Norse mythology and his attempts to employ it to the novel, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Through such two directions, this paper describes that the advanced digital technology and the quality of the original plot are two key elements to succeed in authoring and filming the fantasy literature.

다문화가정 자녀 및 외국인 노동자 영어교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 학제간 고찰 및 연구

This article is a critical research to explore the elements with which English teachers develop an English learning program for children of the cross-cultural families and the foreign workers hired in the manufacturing companies in Korea. Such a research is conducted by a interdisciplinary method, which makes it available for the contents of this article to expand the horizon of English teaching and learning throughout research sources of English education, English literature, social sciences, and humanities. In fact, developing an English program for the second generation of cross-cultural families and foreign workers has not been foot-printed yet, none of whom did not try to study and publish an article in Korea. Thus, this article is an analytical suggestion to turn their eyes on this new area with the perspectives of globalization and cross-cultural society that the Korean society needs to widely perceive.

영미 전통 민요로서의 발라드(Ballad) 연구: 살인발라드(Murder Ballad)를 중심으로

본 논문은 영미 전통 발라드를 전통 민요의 범주 속에서 분석해 보았다. 그중에서도 살인발라드(Murder Ballad)는 영미 전통 발라드 작품들 가운데 90%를 차지할 만큼 작품 수에서 절대다수를 차지한다. 따라서 살인발라드야말로 영미 전통 발라드의 특성을 가장 선명하게 보여주고 있다. 소네트와 같은 라틴 고전 시가양식이 영국에 수입되면서 전통 로맨스 시가문학의 핵심장르인 발라드는 주로 서민들에 의하여 전통 민요로서 전승되었다. 그럼에도 전통 발라드는 낭만주의 문학과 같은 정통 문학사조의 토대가 되었다. 초서, 셰익스피어의 주요 작품들 또한 발라드에서 소재를 차용한 것이다. 이와 더불어 전통 발라드는 신대륙 발견이후 북미 대륙에도 널리 퍼져 나갔는데, 역시 절대다수는 살인발라드였다. 미국의 살인발라드는 따라서 영국의 전통 살인발라드에서 파생하였다. 여기서 영국은 당시 영국과 통합되었던 스코틀랜드와 아일랜드를 포함한다. 광활한 황무지를 개척하던 시절의 수난사와 흑인들에게 자행된 가혹한 린치와 인종차별이 주요 주제로 사용되면서 미국화 된 살인발라드가 탄생하였다. 살인발라드라는 명칭만 놓고 볼 때는 섬뜩하게 들릴 수 있으나 이미 수백 년 동안 공식적으로 사용되어져 왔다. 특히 내용이 서민들이나 하층민들의 억울한 죽음 위주로 묘사되어, 사회적 약자들 사이에 널리 구전되어 오다 현대에 이르러 민중운동 및 인권, 반전, 평화운동을 위한 저항가요로까지 사용되었다. 미국에서는 살인발라드를 널리 퍼뜨림으로써 여성이나 흑인과 같은 사회적 약자들의 억울한 희생을 막기 위해 사용되기도 하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 영미 전통 민요로서의 발라드 가운데 절대 다수를 차지하고 있는 살인발라드의 역사 및 특성을 분석해 보았다. 특히 범 대서양 차원에서 영국과 미국 양쪽의 살인발라드를 비교 분석하며, 이를 현대 모던 포크송으로 어떻게 재해석되어 세계로 널리 퍼져 나갔는지 살펴보고자 하였다. This paper explores traditional British-American ballads. It categorizes them into part of folksongs in the world. But their contribution to the development of the various fields of modern arts such as fine art, musical, modern folksongs, and movie has been uncomparable with any other world folksongs. In particular, this paper widely examines the murder ballad as a sub-genre of the traditional British-American ballads. The murder ballad has taken the absolute majority in number among them, and thus, it has exhibited their characteristics. It deserves to be told that the murder ballad represents traditional British-American ballads. The American murder ballad originated in the British murder ballad. When the immigrants from England, Scotland, and Ireland were settled down in North America, the British murder ballad was widely spread out throughout the land. Then portraying killed women and lynched Afro-Americans in its verses, the murder ballad has been Americanized. In 1960’s, American folk musicians like Bob Dylan remodified it as modern folksongs delivering issues of human right, racial and gender discrimination, and democracy in verses. This paper considers it one of the critical characteristics that only the British-American murder ballads has maintained.
