3D Printing and Its Implication to Patent Law

3D printing and cloud computing are good examples to explore technological changesand patent law. Some commentators and 3D enthusiasts argue that 3D printing is one of the new general purpose technologies that would be pervasive in terms of its applicability, improve and lower costs over time and would incite new inventive potential. Both of these technologies are further instances of computer programming technology, where industry is currently defining its own field, and where the copying of the expression merge with the exploitation of ideas. If technologies need to prosper without hindrance of the law, policy makers should carefully consider how the exclusive right of patent may apply to these new technologies. This paper explores to what extent and manner should the future patent norm take the principle of neutrality of protection into consideration, considering these new emerging technologies and explore if these technologies merit exceptional treatments topreserve a freedom to tinker.

Multiple symmetric lipomatosis (MSL) is a rare disease characterized by the presence of diffuse, non-tender, symmetric deposits of adipose tissue on the neck, back and upper part of the trunk. It has been reported that this disease could be associated with various metabolic abnormalities such as impaired glucose tolerance, hyperuricemia, alcohol consumption, type 4 hyperlipidemia, renal tubular acidosis and thyroid disorder. We present a case of type 2 MSL with pulmonary thromboembolism. He suffered sudden dyspnea and decreased urine output. The causes of dyspnea and acute renal failure (ARF) in this case were dehydration and hemodynamic disturbance due to pulmonary thromboembolism. After thrombolytic and fluid therapy, his condition was improved. He was discharged on warfarin medication and has remained asymptomatic for 12 months.
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens를 이용하여 콩 종류와 발효온도를 달리하여 제조한 청국장의 특성

This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of Chungkookjang depending on different soybeans and fermentation temperatures using Bacillus amyloliquefaciens C2 isolated from homemade Chungkookjang. The highest protease activity was 854 U/g in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 847 U/g in black soybean Chungkookjang at $35^{\circ}C$. The highest amylase activity was 3.87 U/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 4.96 U/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest reducing sugar content was 16.11 mg/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 19.08 mg/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest amino type nitrogen content was 420 mg%/g in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 194 mg%/g in black soybean Chungkookjang at $40^{\circ}C$. The highest pH was 7.92 at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 7.59 at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest number of viable cell was 9.3 log CFU/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and at $35^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. On the other hand, the lowest ammonia type nitrogen content was 225 mg%/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 80 mg%/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. Yellow soybean Chungkookjang showed high protease activity, pH and amino type nitrogen, whereas black soybean Chungkookjang showed high amylase activity and reducing sugar. 본 연구에서는 가정에서 제조한 청국장으로부터 순수분리한 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens C2를 이용하여 콩 종류와 발효온도에 따른 청국장의 품질 특성 변화를 조사하였다. Protease 활성은 $35^{\circ}C$에서 배양했을 때 황태 청국장에서 854 U/g, 흑태 청국장에서 847 U/g로 가장 높았다. Amylase 활성은 황태 청국장의 경우, $40^{\circ}C$에서 3.87 U/g, 흑태 청국장은 $45^{\cricr}C$에서 4.96 U/g로 가장 높았다. 환원당 함량은 황태 청국장의 경우, $40^{\circ}C$에서 16.11 mg/g, 흑태 청국장은 $45^{\circ}C$에서 19.08 mg/g으로 가장 높았다. 아미노태 질소 함량의 경우, 황태 청국장은 $40^{\circ}C$에서 420 mg%/g, 흑태 청국장은 194 mg%/g로 가장 높았다. pH의 경우, 황태 청국장은 $40^{\circ}C$에서 7.92, 흑태 청국장은 $45^{\circ}C$에서 7.59로 가장 높았다. 황태 및 흑태 청국장의 생균수는 각각 $40^{\circ}C$ 및 $35^{\circ}C$에서 9.3 log CFU/g로 가장 높았다. 반면에 암모니아태 질소 함량은 황태 청국장의 경우, $45^{\circ}C$에서 225 mg%/g, 흑태 청국장은 $40^{\circ}C$에서 80 mg%/g로 가장 낮았다. 황태 청국장은 높은protease 활성, pH 및 아미노태 질소함량을 나타내었다. 반면에, 흑태 청국장은 높은 amylase 활성과 환원당 함량 및 낮은 암모니아태 질소 함량을 나타내었다.
드론을 활용한 갯벌 서식 바닷새의 시공간 분포 변화 연구

This study aims to track down changes in spatio-temporal distribution of shorebirds along tidal change in order to determine the best timing to observe shorebirds during a tidal cycle. Hourly observations using a drone and a fieldscope were performed during nine hours a day for twelve days in spring tides between April and July in 2021. A total of seven families of shorebirds were found and total density increased from April to July among which family Laridae (seagulls) accounts for about 90% in abundance. Drone-based observations showed highter density of shorebirds by about 22% than fieldscope ground observations. Spatial distribution of shorebirds changed along with change of waterline location during the tidal cycle. Shorebirds density showed the highest value on tidal flats with the distance of 100-200 m from the land. It implies that about two hours before and after high tide would be the best appropriate chance to observe as many as number of shorebirds. Location of preferred habitat was diverse with shorebirds taxa, and Scolopacidae and Charadriidae, Haematopus ostralegus, Ardeidae occurred in/near the waterline during the entire tidaly cycle. Phalacrocoracidae preferred habitat on the sea. Density of Scolopacidae plus Chradriidae, and that of Platalea leucoradia showed a significant different by the observation method (i.e., drone-based vs. fieldscope-based). Shorebirds distribution on tidal flats depended on avoiding behavior of shorebirds against drones, body size, and diet preference, which would be carefully considered in order to improve monitoring methods.
