The Qi of universe and body has been examined in terms of modern physics and the Oriental philosophy. The meridian theory of the Oriental medicine was interpreted based on the bio-oscillation of body cells under an assumption that the Qi is a unique oscillatory phenomenon of universal quantum field with eigen-frequencies and can not be seen by naked eyes. It is shown that the 20 meridians in human body are the path ways of the metabolic effete matters and the informational net-work controlling the activities and the functions of all the organs. We suggest here to read Qi from the aura photos of a body taken by a Kirlian camera.

A model gas turbine engine was designed and developed. The design point was set up through the cycle analysis to design the combustor which is the kernel of an engine. The length, diameter of the combustor and diameter and number etc. of an air inlet hole was designed based on the way suggested by Kunio Suzuki. The designed result is checked by a combustion intensity and a mean residence time if it was designed suitably or not. The design point of the model of the 3kW gas turbine engine was set up in conditions of outlet temperature of the combustor 900K, the rotational speed of the compressor 110,000rpm, the ratio of pressure 1.57, the air flow rate 0.07 kg/s which is supplied into the combustor. The designed specifications of the combustor are as follows : the whole length of the combustor liner 147mm, the diameter 52mm, the diameter of casing 67mm, the hole diameter - the primary zone 5.25mm, the secondary zone 4.64 mm, the dilution zone 7.32mm.

The volume adsorption capacity of activated carbon(Columbia type 4LXC12/28)at 20℃ for 0.11, 0.57, 1.12, 11.1 and 32.0 mol% carbon dioxide are 0.202±0.008, 0.981±0.025, 1.78±0.05, 13.0±0.4 and 27.3±0.8 ㎤(STP)per gram of carbon. The determinations are based on a measurement of the time-dependent transmission of CO_2 in helium through an adsorber bed and on the analysis of that measuement in terms of a dispersion model^(1). The transmission is the ratio of the concentration at the outlet of the adsorber bed to that at the inlet.

We present a new electrostatic repulsive-force microactuator using a lateral repulsive force induced by an asymmetric distribution of electrostatic field. The lateral repulsive force has been characterized by a simple analytical equation, derived from a finite element simulation. A set of repulsive force polysilicon microactuators has been designed and fabricated by a 4-mask surface-micromachining process. Static and dynamic micromechanical behavior of the fabricated microactuators has been measured at the atmospheric pressure for a varying bias voltage. The static displacement of the fabricated microactuator, proportional to the square of the DC bias voltage, is obtained as 1.27 $\mu\textrm{m}$ for the DC bias voltage of 140V. The resonant frequency of the repulsive-force microactuator increases from 11.7 kHz to 12.7 kHz when the DC bias voltage increases from 60V to 140V. The measured quality-factor varies from 12 to 13 for the bias volatge range of 60V∼140V. The characteristics of the electrostatic repulsive-force have been discussed and compared and compared with those of the conventional electrostatic attractive-force.

A FORTRAN code has been developed to calculate thermodynamic properties of 12 kinds of refrigerants. Input variables are temperature and pressure or temperature only depending on the saturation. The program output properties are specific volume, saturation pressure, enthalpy, entropy, specific heats and speed of sound. Sample calculations show that output properties are in very good agreements with thermodynamic tables and charts.

The wave-front-shearing interferometry technique was used to investigate the diffusion processes of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.1mg sugar in balanced salt solution(BSS) of 1.87cc at room temperature. The diffusion coefficient D and the dependence of the refractive index on concentrations, ∂u/∂c, for a light wavength of 6328Å are simultaneously determined from a diffusion experiment. It is found that the diffusion coefficient is independent of the low concentrations of sugar in BSS and the refractive index depends on the small amount of sugar in artificial human intraocualr fluid since the coefficient of refractive index change, (∂u/∂c)C, is 1.21×10 exp (-6) at a sugar concentration of 1.48×10 exp (-4)gr/cc and a temperature 20±0.5C.
