        본 연구에서는 고강도 알루미늄합금 A12024-T3재의 통계적시험에 의하여 시험 편두께가 피로크랙 진전속도의 분포에 미치는 영향을 밝히고자 하며, 또한, 통계적시 험의 능률화 및 일관성을 꾀하기 위하여 개발한 새로운 유형의 자동화 다단식 피로시 험기의 개략을 밝힌다. Recently, some reports of experimental research on the distribution of fatigue crack propagation rate have been published, and the reliability evaluation using the results of research for the mechanical structure has been executed. Since the thicknesses of specimens used in the published reports are limited to the thin ones, the applicability of the results into the mechanical structure with another thickness seems to be doubtful. That is, not only the quantitative evaluation, but also qualitative evaluation of the effect of specimen thickness has not been executed. In this study, an experimental investigation has been done by using the new type automated multi-stage fatigue testing machine which was developed by the author. The influence of specimen thickness for the distribution of fatigue crack propagation rate with the results is discussed.

        A method of prediction for the fatigue life of surface crack, that is, initial cracks grow and penetrate through the thickness, was presented in the previous study of the author. Effects of parameters such as the initial crack length, material factors, etc., for the life were discussed. In this paper, the probabilistic distribution of the life is calculated. Effects of the distribution of parameters for the distribution of life were also discussed.

        본 연구에서는 윤, H. Okamura는 주어진 초기크랙으로부터 관통이전의 한계크 랙까지의 수명을 간단히 평가하는 수법을 제안했으며 또한, 파괴역학적 제인자의 수명 에 미치는 영향을 평가했다. 본 논문은 이러한 연구들의 연장으로서 상기 남등의 응 력 확대 계수 평가식을 이용하여 파단수명의 예측수법을 확립하고 파단수명에 미치는 파괴역학적 제인자의 영향을 밝히는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. Effects of parameters such as the initial crack depth, material factors, etc., for the life were also discussed. However, in the case of adapting the concept of LBB(Leak Before Break), the break fatigue life after the penetration of the thickness must be taken into account. Hence, a method to predict the break fatigue life is presented in this paper. Effects of the parameters for the break fatigue life are discussed and compared with the penetration fatigue life.

        Prediction of fatigue life distribution of marine propeller materials

        Engineering materials have been studied and developed for a remarkably long time, but there are few reports about marine propeller materials. Recently, some researchers have studied the material strength of marine propellers. However, studies on parametric sensitivity and probabilistic distribution of fatigue life of propeller materials have not yet been carried out. In this study, we have evaluated strength characteristics of AlBC3 and HBsC1, both of which have been used for marine propellers using air jet chisel. Then a method to predict the probabilistic distributions of fatigue life of propeller materials is presented and the influence of several parameters on the life distribution is discussed.

        피로크랙진전속도의 분포에 대한 금속학적 인자의 영향 - 결정입자 의존성 -

        The strength of material is scattered owing to the inhomogenity of microstructure, in spite of the same material. Therefore, in order to design the mechanical structure with the reliability engineering, it is important to grasp the statistical nature of material strength. In this paper, effects of grain sezes for the statistical nature of the fatigue crack growth was discussed. And the statistical nature of mechanical properties was compared with the statistical nature of the fatigue crack growth rate.

      • 피로크랙 진전수명의 확률특성에 관한 연구 I -초기크랙길이 분포의 영향-

        본 연구에서는 피로크랙 진전수명에 대하여 대단히 중요한 초기 크랙 길이 분 포 및 타 파라마터의 크랙 진전수명에 미치는 영향을 폭넓게 논함과 동시에 또 이러한 영향을 손쉽게 예측할 수 있는 실용적 근사식을 제시하는 것이다. In order to understand the probabilistic nature of fatigue crack propagation, not only the calculation of failure probability and parameter sensitivity, but also the clarification of probabilistic nature of various parameters should be executed. Therefore a method to evalute synthetically the effect of each parameter on the distribution of fatigue crack propagation life is required. In this study, the effects of the initial crack size and other paramaters on the distribution of fatigue crack propagation life are discussed according to the appropriate normalization of the life distribution, the validity of this method is also shown. Such an investigation as the present work may be useful to understand the nature of the life distribution and to utilize the probailistic fracture mechanics.

      • Random하중하의 피로크랙 진전수명에 대한 파라미터의 영향도평가

        본 연구에서는 실제의 하중에서 관찰되는 경우가 많고, 또한, 이론적 취급이 용이한 협대역(narrow band)파형을 대상으로 했으니, 다른 파형의 경우도 대략적인 경 향은 파악할 수 있으리라 생가되며 극치의 확률분포만 주어지면 본 수법과 마찬가지로 동일하게 적용할 수 있다. The sensitivity study to evaluate the effects of parameters on the fatigue crack propagation life under the constant loadings is executed in the previous study of the authors. It is shown that the effect of the crack opening ratio is large comparatively. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effects of parameters on the fatigue crack propagation life under the random loadings. A new method of evaluation of the effective stress under the random loadings is developed. The sensitivity study of parameters on the fatigue crack propagation life under the random loadings is executed by using it.

      • 균일진폭 하중하에서의 확률론적 균열진전 수명해석

        The experimental results of fatigue crack propagation under constant amplitude loading show that intra-and inter-specimen variability exist. In this paper, a stochastic model for the estimation of mean and variance of crack propagation life is presented To take into account the intra-specimen variability, the material resistance against crack propagation is treated as an 1-dimensional spatial stochastic process, i. e. random field, varying along the propagation path. For the inter-specimen variability, C in paris equation is assumed to be a random variable. Compared with experimental results reported, the present method well estimate the variation in fatigue crack propagation life. And it is confirmed that the thicker the specimen thickness is, the less the variation of propagation life is.
