In the case of a suspension part, since it is located in the lower part of the vehicle, it has a great advantage of improving fuel economy due to weight reduction. In order to reduce the weight of vehicles, there are increasing cases of applying aluminum to suspension parts. This paper describes the stages of development of a rear cross member with a welded aluminum low pressure hollow casting method and extrusion method. The result of the aluminum cross member study showed that the weight was reduced by 6.3㎏ and natural frequency was improved by 46.7㎐ compared with the steel cross member.
Complexation and Decomplexation study in Less Symmetric Hemicarcerands

Hemicarcerands are defined as host system which can incarcerate and liberate guests at elevated temperatures, but form stable hemicarceplexes at lower working temperatures. Decomplexation rates were examined for DMSO complexes of four different hemicarcerands which have a different fourth bridge such as CH₂, (CH₂)₂, (CH₂)₃, and (CH₂)₄groups, respectively. When unique bridge was anthracene moiety, two sets of host were observed in 1H NMR at 25℃ and the signals due to chloroform complex disappeared at 55℃. The effect of host structures on ¹H and ?? NMR spectra of trifluoromethylbenzene was studied by the chemical shift change of this incarcerated guest. At 100℃, the incarcerated veratrole showed sharp peaks in its ¹H NMR spectrum, which enabled the assignments of all guest aromatic peaks. Finally, a hemicarcerand containing sulfur group in its fourth bridge has been synthesized and modification of this sulfur group to sulfone was done in a moderate yield.
