In the European Union more than 7000 Pedestrians and 2000 Pedal cyclists are killed every year in a road accident, while several hundred thousands are injured. The European Enhanced Vehicle Safety Committee Working Group 17(EEVC WG 17) proposed a set of impact procedures to evaluate the Pedestrian injury risk of vehicle fronts. These procedures address three aspects of pedestrian protection(Head impacts, Lower limb impacts, and thigh impacts) through vehicle subsystem tests. In this study, to advance for the pedestrian protection GTR(Global Technical Regulation), Technical Feasibility and conflict with other regulations was evaluated. Ultimately the trend of domestic and foreign study for Pedestrian protection was contemplated.

In this study, the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for school bus in the United States are reviewed and compared to the safety standards in Korea. School bus transportation is one of the safest forms of transportation in the United States. In the legislative history of the School Bus Safety Amendments of 1974, Congress indicated that school transportation should be held to the highest level of safety. Today, there are four standards unique to school buses and six standards that have unique requirements specific to school buses. But in Korea, safety standards of school bus are mitigated than that of passenger car's. To improve school bus passenger's safety, proposed regulations are discussed.

Pedestrian fatalities account for about 44% of all traffic accident fatalities in Korea. In this paper, a series of child headform test and simulation were conducted to evaluate pedestrian protection test protocol describes in the EEVC and IHRA. The developed 2.5㎏ and 3.5㎏ child headform impactors were used to evaluate the effectiveness of these test rigs in the hood component. Results from the simulations, the influence factors such as impact speed, impact angle and headform sizes were evaluate in terms of HIC.

This study investigates the positive and negative aspects of bullbar with regard to road trauma through assessment of the headfoam impact test and analysis of pedestrian crash.
The experimental data showed that bullbars pose a great risk in the event of low speed impacts with unprotected road users such as pedestrians.
All of steel bullbar tested have been shown to have a high risk of causing life threatening brain injuries in impacts with the head of children or serious injuries to the abdomen and chest of adults and taller children, even in low speed impact.
Despite the fact that safety appears to be a major reason for fining bullbars, no results were found which attempted to quantify the safety benefits of bullbar.
Whiplash injuries of the neck are one of the most common injuries reported from automotive rear impacts. We are having an effort to reduce the whiplash injuries. So, U.S. announced the FMVSS 202a which is a powerful regulation concerning head restraints in 2004. This study looked into the FMVSS 202a and tested two seats, domestic products, following the FMVSS 202a laboratory test procedures. As results of the test, Backset requirement, height retention requirement, and backset retention requirement is not satisfied. These unsatisfied requirements are newly introduced in head restraint regulation FMVSS 202a. Domestic car makers must work hard to satisfy the strong regulation on head restraints.

In this study, we conducted sled tests for five types of CRS attachment method. The purpose of the test is to compare the safety performance(characteristics) for each case of various attachment methods. Sled tests were conducted for rigid bar and 리exible attachment, and the combination of top tether. And we also conducted the test for conventional attachment method of CRS with 3-point adult belt. The test results show that the new attachment system has a better safety performance than conventional attachment system. And we can also confirm the effect of top tether and rigid bar or flexible attachment.
