        연구논문 : 한국 비만남성들의 외모 관련 삶의 질에 대한 탐색적 연구

        This study explored various issues related to the quality-of-life for obese Korean men. In-depth interviews were conducted with thirty men over BMI 25 whose age ranged from 20``s to 50``s. Projective techniques along with semi-structured interviews were used. The results of interviews were analyzed based on grounded theory. “Stress” was the main phenomenon resulting from the causal conditions of obesity and stigma. Stress consisted of social, psychological, physical and environmental factors. Contextual conditions mediating the relationship between causal conditions and main phenomenon were obesity level, pressure, and public appearance. Avoidance, change of personal traits, and insensitivity were the action/reactions to the main phenomenon. Various factors due to obesity disappeared and quality-of-life increased when they succeed in weight reduction; however, factors related to obesity and lowered condition of quality-of-life continued if they experienced a weight gain/loss yo-yo.

        假山의 차용을 통한 ‘미적경계’ 표현

        본 논문은 동양 전통의 조경문화인 ‘가산(假山)’형식을 차용하여 주관적 심미 감성을 담아 조직된 가상공간 이미지를 표현하는 연구자의 조형언어를 분석하고자 한 것이다. 동양 문화에서 ‘가산’은 인위적으로 조형된 자연이라는 맥락에서 자연친화적 이상을 담고 있다. 즉 현실 공간에서 소요하는 이상화된 자연이라는 점에서 헤테로토피아적이다. 이는 연구자 작품의 특성인 현실과 이상 경계의 심리적 화해를 지향하는 존재론적 의미와 유사 관계로 이해할 수 있다. 따라서 이 논의는 전통 조경문화인 ‘가산’의 조형적 특징을 활용하여 현실과 이상(理想)의 미적 경계를 예술적으로 표현함에 있어 원림(園林)문화와의 관련성을 확인하는 데 초점을 두었다. 연구자가 고찰한 동양 전통의 원림문화는 일상 속에서 인공적으로 조성한 미니어처 자연을 통한 ‘은일’과 ‘소요’의 경계에서 노니는 상상을 실현한 가산문화의 원형이라 할 수 있다. 대략적인 고찰의 내용은 가산문화의 원형으로서의 원림과 그 전개양상을 종병의 와유(臥遊), 당대(唐代) 백거이의 ‘중은(中隱)’적 태도를 중심으로 진행되었으며, 이들의 예술적 태도는 대부분 정신적인 이상(理想) 공간을 표상한다는 점에서 절대적 자유, 즉 소요유(逍遙遊)의 세계를 상징한다. 장자의 ‘소요’정신은 이상화된 심리, 즉 수양(修養)의 방식으로 복잡한 현실 속에서 살아가는 우리에게 정신적 자유의 중요성을 강조하며 자연을 통한 인간 회복을 꿈꾼다는 면에서 현대인들에게 시사하는 철학적 의미가 크다. 연구자의 작품은 일종의 판타지로 가공된 석가산(石假山)의 형태를 현실 공간에 배치하는, 차경을 통한 관념 산수로서 다양한 표현 매체를 지속적으로 실험하며 확장적 변화를 시도 하였다. 작품에서 현실 공간에 구현된 거벽산과 그 주변에 배치된 익명의 인물들에게서 보이는 행위는 생활공간에서 즐기는 절대적 자유, 즉 소요유의 세계를 상징한다. 이러한 창작 방식은 연구자의 창작 의도와 작업 과정에서 체험하게 되는 행위의 즐거움이 일치하는 지점이다. 본고는 현실공간에서 ‘미적 경계(境界)’를 찾고자 하는 연구자 작업의 과정 연구이다. 인위적 자연인 ‘가산’을 적절한 상징과 비유로 새롭게 해석하여 사용함으로써 제한된 일상의 공간에서 이상(理想) 경계를 노니는 심리적 자유를 확인하는데 그 의의가 있다. This paper is to analyze my own formative language that expresses virtual s pace images organized with subjective aesthetic sensitivity through appropriation of the ‘Ga-san (假山, artificial mountain)’ form, traditional landscaping culture in the East. In the context that ‘Ga-san’in Eastern culture refers to artificially formed nature, it represents a nature-friendly ideal. In other words, it is of heterotopia in that it is idealized nature rambling in real space. This aspect can be understood to have a similarity relation with ontologistic meanings that pursue psychologic reconciliation between reality and ideal boundary, the very characteristic in my works. Thus, the discussion focuses on identifying relevance with Oriental garden(園林) culture while artistically expressing aesthetic boundary of reality and ideal by utilizing formative characteristics of‘Ga-san,’the traditional landscaping culture. The traditional Oriental garden culture in the East that I have examined can be termed the prototype of Ga-san culture that realizes imagination of strolling a t the boundary of ‘seclusion’ and ‘ramble’ through miniature nature that is artificially formed in everyday life. This paper roughly rotates around the Oriental garden as the prototype of Ga-san culture and its development through the attitudes of Zong Bing’s lying ramble(臥遊) and Bai Juyi(白居易) as ‘semi-recluse(中隱)’in Tang period; most of their artistic attitudes represent psychologically ideal space, which symbolizes absolute freedom, in other words, the world of carefree ramble(逍遙遊). Spirit of ‘ramble’of Chuang-tzu emphasizes importance of psychological freedom to us living in such a complicated reality in the form of cultivation(修養), the idealized mentality; it is philosophically significant for modern people that it dreams of human recovery through nature. Arranging the form of Seokga-san(石假山, Ga-san organized with stones) processed as a sort of fantasy in real space, my works are ideational landscape through borrowing scenery, constantly experimenting with various expression media and attempting expansive changes. The acts exhibited from vast mountains realized in real space of the works and anonymous figures arranged around the mountains symbolize absolute freedom savored in living space, in other words, the world of carefree ramble. This expression mode is the point where my intention for creating works and amusement of acts experienced through the creating process are met. This paper is to look into my work creation processes that seek to find‘aesthetic boundary’in real space. Its significance lies in that it aims to identify psychologic freedom rambling at the boundary of ideal in limited everyday space by newly interpreting and utilizing the artificial nature ‘Ga-san’ with appropriate symbolic representation and analogy.

        글로벌 코스메틱 브랜드 제품의 가격 비교 연구

        The global cosmetic market has been increasing over the several decades and many cosmetic brands are marketed in different countries. The main objectives of this study were to develop cosmetic index which indicate the ratio between local price and the US price, to investigate price differences of global cosmetic products over different countries using cosmetic index, to compare the cosmetic indices to Big Mac Indices, and to examine the cosmetic indices in comparison to the income level of local countries. The price information posted in official websites of three major cosmetic brands (Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Lancôme) were obtained for one skincare and one makeup products respectively for each brand in the countries where the products have been marketed. The results showed wide price differences in global cosmetic brands both in skincare products and makeup products, even though the price differences among the countries were less severe in the case of makeup products than skincare products. The cosmetic indices in almost all countries were much higher than BigMac indices, indicating that cosmetic products were, in general, more highly priced than other consumer goods. And there was little relationship between the income level and the cosmetic indices which suggest that global cosmetics are marketed as luxury goods.

        근거이론에 기초한 플러스 사이즈 여성 소비자의 의류를 중심으로 한 외모관리에 관한 탐색적 연구

        This study explores various issues of appearance management behavior for plus-size women in Korea with a focus on clothing. In-depth interviews and focused group interviews were conducted with 24 plussize women. The interviews were recorded and the transcripts were analyzed based on grounded theory. Discomfort was the main phenomenon involving the experience of plus-size women related to appearance management. Psychological as well as physiological/physical discomfort, unmet needs (regarding clothing) and inconvenient shopping experiences were frequently mentioned. Causal conditions for discomfort were obesity, social stigma, and an underdeveloped clothing market for plus-size consumers. Interviewees developed strategies to cope with discomfort (suppressing clothing need, loss of interest in clothing, diversion from clothing needs, sole focus on physical comfort, dress-up and increase in shopping channels, and change in shopping patterns) that depended on contextual conditions (such as duration of obesity and attitudes of people) close to the interviewees. The discomfort of interviewees decreased or continued depending on if they became ambivalent about their obese condition, lost weight, or utilized plus-size specialty stores.

        남자 대학생의 착용 패션스타일과 음악,여가,라이프스타일,가치관과의 관계

        The main objectives of this study were to empirically examine the relationship between the preference of fashion styles of male college students and their individual taste in other areas including music styles and recreation types. Life style and values were also examined for their relationship with the fashion style preferences. Survey questionnaires were distributed to male college students in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi-do during May and June of 2011, and a total of 256 responses were used in the final analysis. The results showed that there were three segments according to the fashion styles - ``modern-dandy``, ``resistance style``, ``no-individuality`` groups - and there were significant differences between groups in terms of their preferred music styles and choice of recreational activities. Modern-dandy group preferred R&B, dance music and ballad, while resistance style group preferred hiphop, dance and reggae music. No-individuality group did not show any preference for a particular type of music. Both modern-dandy and resistance style groups liked sports, while resistance style group showed the lowest preference for hobby and culture. There were also significant differences in lifestyles and values according to the fashion styles of the three groups.
