항류마티스제(DMARDs)와 비스테로이드성 소염진통제(NSAIDs)에 반응하지 않는 다수관절형 소아기 류마티스 관절염 환아 증례 보고

Objectives This study is to examine case that has an significant result on treating Polyarticular Type Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis(JIA) the patient who did not response to DMARDs and NSAIDs with oriental medicine. JIA is the most common form of persistent arthritis in children before age 16. The symptoms of JIA is pain and edema of joints, fever, lethargy, reduced physical activity, and poor appetite. But the symptoms vary. Methods The patient felt pain and had limitation of mobility on his joints, but the DMARDs and NSAIDs were not effective. Therefore, he was treated with oriental medicine and withdrew from DMARDs and NSAIDs. The patient took DMARDs and NSAIDs from May 2007 to November 2008(He did not took DMARDs and NSAIDs from December 2007 to June 2008), and took oriental medicine from November 2008 until now. Results The patient's pain and limited mobility on his joints, edema, morning stiffness, fatigue was gone, and could maintain the condition. He doesn't have DMARDs or any other western medicine anymore. Conclusions This study shows that a Polyarticular Type Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis patient who had ineffective response to DMARDs and NSAIDs can reach to the clinical remission by oriental medicine treatment. His morning stiffness, fatigue, pain of joints, edema was gone and ESR was in normal range with Oriental medicine treatment.

Objectives : Through the literature on the effect of Aconiti Cliare Tuber, Radix Aconiti, we are finding out the clinical posibility and revealing the more effective to intractable disease. Methods : We inverstigated the literatures of Oriental Medicine and experimental reports about Aconiti Cliare Tuber, Radix Aconiti. Results : 1. The taste of Aconiti Cliare Tuber, Radix Aconiti is hot, sweet, bitter, warm and hot, and the effect is dehumidification, warm up and relieve the pain, so it can be used for arthritis, hemiplegia, carpopedal spasm, sciatica, cancer, numbness. 2. A toxic constituent of Aconiti Cliare Tuber, Radix Aconitiis is induced by aconitine alkaloid, develope toxic symptoms and result in death. So it needs suitabe treatment for safety. 3. It is known that the toxicopathy due to Radix Aconiti was 3-30g(dosage for adult) and Aconiti Ciliare Tuber was 1-9g. But only using aconitine alkaloid to oral feeding, the toxicopathy due to 0.2mg/kg and lethal dose is 3-4mg. So we using this for treating, we must be careful and need more varialble study about toxicopathy, lethal dose. 4. On clinical treatment, we thought Aconiti Cliare Tuber, Radix Aconiti is so effective to intractable disease after control the toxicity, it may be need variable study on toxicity and clinical effects.

Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome 환자 1례에 대한 증례보고

Objective : This study was performed to evaluate the treatment of Acupuncture therapy including Herbal Acupuncture theraphy and Korean Bee Venom Theraphy in Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome. Methods : We treated 1 case of Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome patient with mainly Korean Bee Venom Theraphy, and herbal Acupuncture, acupuncture theraphy from 27th August, 2001 to February, 2003. Results : After 3 weeks of Korean Bee Venom Theraphy, and herbal Acupuncture, acupuncture theraphy, a remarkable improvement was made for Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome. Conclusions : Korean Bee Venom Theraphy and other acupuncture therapies were effective in reducing the symptoms. We think that it need the further study and clinical trial for Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome.

파두약침(巴豆藥鍼)의 급성(急性) 아급성(亞急性) 독성실험(毒性實驗) 및 Sarcoma-180 항암효과(抗癌效果)에 관(關)한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究)

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the acute and subacute toxicity and sarcoma- 180 anti-cancer effects of Herbal acupuncture with Triglii Semen in mice and rats. Method: Balble mice were injected intraperitoneally with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture for $LD_{50}$ and acute toxicity test. Sprague Dawley rats were injected intraperitoneally with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture for subacute toxicity test. The Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture was injected on Chung-wan(CV12) of mice with S-180 cancer cell line. Results: 1. In acute toxicity test, the $LD_{50}$ value was $7.49{\times}10^3$ml, 0.30ml/kg.2. The body weights of mice treated with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture increased during the acute toxicity test. 3. In acute toxicity test of serum biochenrical values of mice, total protein was decreased in treatment groups I, 2 and 3, albunrin was decreased in treatment groups 2 and 3 compared to the control group. GOT was increased in treatment group I and Alk. Phosphatase was increased in treatment groups 1,2 and 3 compared to the normal group(p<0.05). 4.ln subacute toxicity test, severe tissue injury was found in lung and liver. 5. In subacute toxicity test, the body weight was decreased in treatment groups I and 2 compared to the normal group and the weight of liver. lung and kidney were increased in treatment groups 1, 2 and 3 compared to the normal group.(p<0.05) 6. In subacute toxicity test, RBC, HGB and HCT were decreased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the normal group. MCV was increased in treatment group1 compared to the normal group, MCH was increased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the control group in complete blood count test.(p<0.05) 7. In subacute toxicity test, total protein was decreased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the nonnal group, BUN was increased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the nonnal group, creatinine and uric acid were decreased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the normal group, glucose was increased in treatment group 2 compared to the nonnal group, triglycelide was decreased in treatment groups I and 2 compared to the normal group, total cholesterol was increased in treatment groups 1 and 2 compared to the control group. GOT was decreased in treatment group 2 compared to the normal and control group, AIk. Phosphatase was increased in treatment group 1 compared to the normal and control group.(p<0.05) 8. Median survival time was 17days in treatment group 2 for S- 180 cancer cell treated with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture. 9. Natural killer cell activity was insignificant for S-180 cell treated with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture.(p<0.05) 10. lnterieukin-2 productivity was decreased for S-180 cell treated with Triglii semen Herbal acupuncture compared to the normal and control group.(p<0.05) Conclusion: According to the results, we can conclude Herbal-acupuncture with Triglii semen caused toxicity, and caused no effects in S-180 cancer cell.

Objectives This study is to report a case that has an effective result to oligoarticular type juvenile idiopathic arthritis patient with the oriental medicine treatment. Methods We treated the patient with an oriental medicine and tapered down with the DMARDs and NSAIDs. We followed up the laboratory blood tests every four or five months and throughout the experiment. Results The symptoms of oligoarticular type juvenile idiopathic arthritis were vanished and the patient maintained her good health condition with oriental medicine treatment after discontinued all Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs) and NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). Her ESR, CRP levels were stable in normal and other blood test results were back to normal range. Her joint mobility and condition was back to normal. Now she is in clinical remission status. Conclusions According to the result, the oriental medicine treatment is considered to be effective on the oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and further studies will be needed with more cases.

진행성 근이영양증(Progressive Muscular Dystrophies) 환자 1예(例)에 대한 증례보고(證例報告)

After observing a patient diagnosed with Progressive Muscular Dystropies from the August, 31, 2000 to the January, 2001, the following results are obtained. Method and Result: Under our assumption that the Korean Bee Venom Therapy is a good method to treat Progress Muscular Dystropies. Korean Bee Venom Therapy was applied on the following acupuncture points: BL23(Shinsu:腎兪), BL26(Guanyuanshu:關元兪), ST36(Chok-Samni:足三里), LI4(Hapkok:合谷), LV3(Taechung:太), SP10(Hyolhae:血海), SI9(Sojang-Kyonjong:貞). In addition CFC(Carthami Flos;紅花: and Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu;) Herbal-Acupuncture is also treated on the other acupuncture points. For herbal medication was given to the patient based on the Sasang Constitution, Taeyangin Ogapijangchuk-tang. Following these treatments in this case of Progressive Muscular Dystropies, the skeletal muscle functions made remarkable improvement. Conclusion: Based on the clinical results, traditional Korean Medical treatment is believed to be effective for treating Progressive Muscular Dystropies, and further studies should be conducted to provide more valuable information.
