고속 데이터 전송을 위한 동적 자원 최적화 시스템

        유세영 한국지식정보기술학회 2021 한국지식정보기술학회 논문지 Vol.16 No.3

Big data science collaboration enables science research to discover deeper knowledge of technology human behavior and the universe. To better utilize the big data for science collaboration we need to enable efficient data sharing between remote sites that generate scientific data and analyze it. There have been numerous studies on optimizing data sharing in modern research infrastructure using high-speed networks and DTNs. However, the optimization has been limited to heuristics and manual optimization to find suitable configurations for specific collaboration environments due to a large configuration space and heterogeneous set of hardwares, softwares, and network connections. We present a dynamic optimization system for DTNs that can explore available configuration space in specific environments and automatically adjust to the dynamic environment. We build a next-generation data transfer system that can monitor existing data transfer and use various techniques to find out available resources in the system and tries to utilize them. Our focus in this research is to provide an environment for the infrastructure administrator to examine their existing infrastructure and find an optimal configuration for each environment without minimal human intervention. Our system can find optimal storage configuration and apply transfer parameters in the DTNs in a science infrastructure in real-time to maximize available resources.

외상성 횡격막 헤르니아: 3례 수술 보고

유세영 대한흉부심장혈관외과학회 1969 Journal of Chest Surgery (J Chest Surg) Vol.2 No.1

Three cases of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia were repaired in this department from June 1967 to Nov.1968. The first case, a 14 year old girl, was diagnosed as diaphragmatic hernia during the operation of the diffuse peritonitis from jejunaI perforation 3 days after the traffic accident at local clinic and she was transfered to this hospital after the closure of the perforated jejunum. Herniated stomach, transverse colon, spleen and left lobe of the liver were repositioned and the diaphragmatic rupture at the posterolateral portion of the left diaphragm was repaired with two layer sutures by transthoracic approach. The second case. a 26 year old man. was diagnosed immediately after the traffic accident at local clinic and transfered to this hospital 24 hours later. Herniated and distended stomach, transverse colon and jejunum were repositioned and the large diaphragmatic rupture, about 9 cm in length, from the posterolateral portion to the base of the pericardium was directly repaired with two layer sutures. The third case, a 26 year old man, who had a history of stab wound at left lower lateral chest two years ago,was admitted with the sudden onset of abdominal pain and vomiting. The diaphragmatic hernia was confirmed with barium enema. The herniated stomach and transverse colon through the defect, about 3.5 cm in diameter, at anterolateral portion of the left diaphragm, were repositioned and the defect was repaired with two layer sutures. All of the cases recovered uneventfully.

Optimizing NUMA System Beyond 100 Gbps for Big Data

        유세영 한국지식정보기술학회 2021 한국지식정보기술학회 논문지 Vol.16 No.3

As big data science and analysis become prevalent in the science community and industry, systems to store, access, and share big data are studied in many ways. As compute resources to execute big data analysis move to the cloud, the storage system integrates to the cloud to provide storage services to the compute resources. The accessibility of big data is important to cloud computing because the analysis jobs that run in the cloud often migrate to another compute node. The storage service needs to provide the resource to multiple compute nodes with NUMA support. Current High-performance data management systems focus on the accessibility of storage systems and lack of performance optimization for transferring data in NUMA system. Big data and cloud computing's popularity enhance the trend of universally accessible data, yet accessing remote data is limited significantly due to the lack of optimization on the data path within the systems and the networks. Our systematic approach to optimize a NUMA system provides fully utilizing end-to-end data transfer streams with 100 Gbps disk-to-disk throughput. We use our model to show we can utilize the 100 Gbps network with disk-to-disk transfer using commodity hardware and open-source tools with optimizing NUMA system.

        자연기흉 치험례 (52례 보고)

유세영 대한흉부심장혈관외과학회 1968 Journal of Chest Surgery (J Chest Surg) Vol.1 No.1

Fifty-two cases of spontaneous pneumothorax encountered in Seoul National University Hospital during the period from 1961 to 1968 were reviewed. The incidence was highest in the adult between 21 and 40 years of age, showing 50%. Four cases of bilateral spontaneous pneumothorax [7.7%] were noted. Pulmonary tuberculosis was the most common cause, 50% of the cases. Non-tuberculous group was 26 cases [50%], of which 15 cases were idiopathic, 5 emphysematous bullae or blebs, 5 inflammatory lung disease, mostly pneumonia, and one pulmonary paragonimiasis. Among 52 cases, the lung expanded completely with absolute bed rest in 7 cases, 3 out of 9 with needle aspiration and bed rest, 34 out of 41 with closed thoracotomy and underwater seal Stedman suction, and 7 cases were treated with open thoracotomy with resection of the lesions without complication. Among these cases treated with closed thoracotomy it took about 3 days in non-tuberculous group to expand the collapsed lung and more than 2 weeks in tuberculous group.
