低溫處理, 覆土 및 POLYETHYLENE FILM 被覆이 Zoysia japonica 種子發芽에 미치는 影響

In order to detemine the effect of seed straitfication, covering with sand and polyethylene film on germination of zoysia japonia seeds, a field test was conducted. 1. When stratification was accompained by varied light intensity caused by different covering depth of sand, it was not effective for higher germination percentage of Zoysia joponica seeds. 2. Sand covering remarkable increased the germination percentage, with the highes percentage at the plot of 2mm of sane covering. 3. The germination of Zaysia japonica was stimulated by the cover of polyethylene film. 4. Stratification and the coverings of sand had an additive effect on the germination at earlier stage but the final germination percentage did not show an increase by the additive effect of the two factors. 5. Stratification and the cover of polyethlene film had an additive effect on the germination at earlier stage but there was no increase in the final germination percentage. 6. The sand covering and the cover with polyethylene film had an additive effect and when the sand of 2mm was covered with polyethylene film, the germination percentage was the highest.

These studies were carried out to obtain the basic information concerning about soil surface covering with Korean lawn grass by seeding, and to investigate the best desirable seeding method for slope lands covering. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Study on the seeding method KL seed showed a good germination and coverage regardless of soil condition, covering methods, polyethylene film cover and irrigation. In KD seed, fair results were observed even under the condition of polyethlene film cover and irrigation. On the contray, OL and OD seeds showed a low germination in the case of sandy silt loam, irrigation, and polyethylene film cover, and they took a long time to be completely covered. Being seeded in sandy silt loam, all kinds of seeds showed better effect than those of silty loam. Polythylene film cover was effective to all kinds of seeds especially when no irrigation was performed. Sand cover was more effective than soil cover. In case of unirrigation, the effect was increased by multiplying its quantity. Seed quantity did not affect to coverage ratio, but high density resulted in poor growth. Germination and coverage were affected to seeding time, which accorded with changes in temperature and presipitation. 2. Study on covering method for slope lands KD seed showed a low germination in spite of polyethylene film cover. In case of KL seed, it showed a good germination and cover. Polyethylene film and net cover made their effects increased to some extent. 3. Preliminary study on hydroseeding method for slope covering. On the whole, KD seed showed a low germination and approximately zero percet at 70˚ rocky slope lands. But it was successful for KL seed to cover the steep and the rocky slope lands.
Hibiscus syriacus의 自家不和合機構에 關한 硏究

This study was conducted to certify the Self incompatibility and to investigate the Self-incompatible characteristics in Hibiscus syriacus. The effect of Self-and Cross-pllination, floral age, temperature pretreatment, and ovary on pollen tube growth and seed set was investigated. Respiration process during Self and Cross pollinated pollen tube growth was detected by Warburg manometer. Changes of free amino acids was traced by ionexchange chromatography. The experimental results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The failure to obtain seed after Self-pollination confirmed the Self-incompatibility of Hibiscus syriacus. 2. The Cross-pollinated pollen tube grew more rapidly than Self-pollinated pollen tube. 3. In bud stage, the pollen tube after Self and Cross pollination grew with same velocity each other. 4. Temperature pretreatment of styles inactivated the Self-incompatibility. 5. The respiration process, changes of free amino acids and hypothesis of Self-incompatibility were discussed.

ZOYSIA JAPONICA의 越冬中 種子貯藏狀態가 種子發芽 및 初期生育에 미치는 影響

In order to determine the effect of storage condition in winter on germination of Zoysia japonica seeds and on the seedling vigor and experiment was conducted. (1) When seeds were stored in refriegerator at 0∼5℃ strificated in winter, the germination percentage was increased. (2) Average length of time for germination was shortened when seeds were stored in refrigerator at 0∼5℃, stratificated or stored in wet condition at room temperature. (3) There was increase in number of tiller, number of leaf and fresh matter weight when seeds were stored in refrigerator at 0∼5℃ stratificated. (4) In this experiment, germination percentage of Zoysia japonica seeds and the seedling vigor was the highest in case of stored in refriegerator at 0∼5℃ or stratificated.
