In accordance with global energy conservation policies such as MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standard), electric motor industry is moving to super-high-efficiency machines and research to develop IE4 (International Energy Efficiency Class 4) motors has been launched. In this situation, SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in place of induction motor which hardly provides super premium efficiency. As a result, much research on SynRM is being performed at home and abroad. Also, some products have already been appearing in the market. Compared to induction motor, SynRM has better efficiency per unit area and wider operating range. Although the utilization of control system in synchronous motor results in higher prices, we still need to concentrate on developments of SynRM so as to comply with the new policies. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of super premium SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress anlaysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our 3 models.

This paper present the design of improving performance of the electromagnetic for EMS. Electromagnetic performance on various design schemes such as teeth width, shoe height, shoe width has been investigated in detail by using FEM(Finite Element Method). Simulation-based RSM(Response Surface Methodology) is also applied in order to reduce the large number of analysis according to each design variable and consider the effect among variables. The design in all aspects in proposed by an optimization algorithm using regression equation derived from the simulation-based RSM.

In this paper, improved model of the LSM (Linear Synchronous Motor) for high-speed magnetic levitation train was designed to improve the performance and save material costs. Characteristics of the basic model was analyzed by the finite element method, and based on this information the design parameters of the improved model was chosen. The mover yoke width, stator yoke width, slot opening are the design parameters and was analyzed by the finite element method. Further discussion is made in the direction of the design in order to improve the performance and suppliment the fault between the basic and improved model, by comparing the characteristics.

SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) is a high efficient motor. With a simple structure and more cheaper than induction Motor, However, the torque ripple of Synchrous Reluctance Motor is very large. This paper analyzes the SynRM output characteristics with a new rotor flux barriers arrangment design, since the stator of SynRM is similar as that of an induction motor. And compares a basic Model. By designed the relative positions between outer edges of flux barriers and slots correspond. As a result torque ripple can be reduced.
