기획논문 : 류큐(琉球) 문학 특집 ; 류큐설화집 『유로설전(遺老說傳)』의 세계
도우노마에아키코 연민학회 2011 연민학지 Vol.16 No.-
Vol.25 No.1
Purpose: Many clinical trails have reported on the efficacy of improving reading and spelling in children with learningdisability. However, there are few studies of training methods adapted for each writing system. The purpose of this study was to introduce an auditory training method for learning disabilities in Japan called 'Bi-passing' and to examine its efficacy to improve spelling accuracy in children with developmental dyslexia in Japan. Methods: This study reviewed training methods on reading and spelling intervention (auditory method) for children with learning disabilities in Japan. The efficacy of both the auditory method and the traditional teaching method in school were compared in developmental dyslexia. A total of 14 students (primary and middle school) from Japan with developmental dyslexia participated in this study. All participants with developmental dyslexia had average intelligence, language ability, and ability in auditory memory; they had disorders of phonological processing and/or visual processing. Results: The results indicated that most of the participants exhibited higher performance in the auditory method than the traditional teaching method. Children with higher performance in the auditory method were confirmed as having worse performance in visual memory than children with the same performance in the two methods. Conclusions: The results verified the effectiveness of applying the auditory method to spelling Japanese in children with developmental dyslexia. The application of these findings on the Korean auditory method was then discussed.

This paper presents a cross-sectional study from grade one to four of 424 normal children and aims to clarify the characteristics of cognitive abilities as predictors of word and non-word fluent reading development. Phonological process tasks, visual cognitive ability tasks, receptive vocabulary, and naming speed were administered to children. The results showed that the factors of naming speed, syllable awareness, and vocabulary contributed uniquely to word reading fluency in Grade 1, while the factors of naming speed, and syllable awareness contributed uniquely to word reading fluency in Grade 2. In addition, the factor of naming speed and vocabulary contributed uniquely to word fluency in Grades 3 and 4. With regard to non-word reading fluency, the factors of naming speed, syllable awareness, and receptive vocabulary were unique predictors in Grade 1. The factors of naming speed, syllable awareness, and phoneme awareness contributed uniquely to non-word reading fluency in Grade 2. And, the factor of naming speed was only a unique predictor in Grade 3, while the factors of naming speed and vocabulary contributed uniquely to non-word reading fluency in Grade 4. For Hangul, little is known about the characteristics of predictors of fluency reading in development. Nevertheless, our findings suggest that relative importance of underlying skills as predictors of word and non-word reading fluency may change during the course of development.
A Traffic Surveillance System using Dynamic Saliency Map and SVM Boosting
이민호,이정우,이우노 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.5
This paper proposes a traffic surveillance system that can efficiently detect an interesting object and identify vehicles and pedestrians in real traffic situations. The proposed system consists of a moving object detection model and an object identification model. A dynamic saliency map is used for analyzing dynamics of the successive static saliency maps, and can localize an attention area in dy-namic scenes to focus on a specific moving object for traffic surveillance purposes. The candidate local areas of a moving object are followed by a blob detection processing including binarization, morphological closing and labeling methods. For identifying a moving object class, the proposed system uses a hybrid of global and local information in each local area. Although the global feature analysis is a compact way to identify an object and provide a good accuracy for non-occluded objects, it is sensitive to image translation and occlusion. Therefore, a local feature analysis is also considered and combined with the global feature analysis. In order to construct an efficient classifier using the global and local features, this study proposes a novel classifier based on boosting of support vector machines. The proposed object identification model can identify a class of moving object and discard unexpected candidate area which does not include an interesting object. As a result, the proposed road surveillance system is able to detect a moving object and identify the class of the moving object. Experimental results show that the proposed traffic surveillance system can successfully detect specific moving objects.
