This study investigates the influence of cane length on the weight distribution of the elderly in a standing position. Thirsty participants were evaluated using two different cane lengths based on measurements of distal wrist crease to ground (WC cane), and distance of greater trochanter to ground (GT cane). A limloader was used to determine the weight distribution on the subject. It was found that 6.5% of body weight was supported on a GT cane and 7.7% of body weight supported on a WC cane in a standing position. Results suggests that more weight is distributed on a WC cane than a GT cane in the elderly.

As in house care is develops and becomes part of the health care delivery system in Korea, it is necessary to quantify the viewpoints of in-patients and outpatients. The purposes of this study are to analyze the utilization of house visits by physical therapist and to investigate the viewpoint of in- and out-patients who had rehabilitation treatment at 3 general hospitals in Wonju, Korea. Two hundred and fifty-eight questionnaires were analyzed and the major findings are as follows: 1. Sixty-five point seven percentage of respondents showed their willingness to utilize house visits by physical therapist if an in house physical therapy program were established. 2. The questionnaire used a Likert-type scale to ask the respondents their viewpoints on in house physical therapy services. Most respondents showed a positive attitude, answering 'I agree'. The findings show that house visits by physical therapists should be introduced as an integral system for the delivery of health care in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of smartphone gaze walking on gaze tracking and walking patterns. The study subjects measured and compared 8 adults in D Metropolitan City once each of general walking and smartphone gaze walking using eye trackers. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a statistically significant difference in general walking in step length, double support, step time, and speed compared to smartphone walking (p<.05). Second, in general walking, while walking with overall eyes on areas of interest, such as middle → top → bottom → bottom, smartphone walking only looked at the smartphone and walked. According to the above results, unlike general walking, smartphone walking appeared unstable in walking mechanisms and walking stability, and eye tracking during walking was indirectly judged that it would be difficult to cope with various situations that may appear when walking by focusing on smartphone without looking forward. Therefore, policy operations such as installing signs, installing crosswalk LEDs, and installing smartphone pedestrian lanes will be important for each country, and efforts should be made to prevent various accidents caused by smartphone use.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of functional pillow use on trapezius muscle tone and EEG. The study subjects compared before and after using functional pillows among 12 people in their 30 and older residing in metropolitan city D. The results of this study are as follows. First, the use of functional pillows showed lower muscle tone in trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles than other pillows in the supine position(p<.05). Second, the use of functional pillows showed lower muscle tone in trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles than other pillows in the lateral position(p<.05). Third, the use of functional pillows did not show a significant difference in the beta wave of EEG, but there was a statistically significant difference in the alpha wave and theta wave(p<.05). Fourth, when evaluating the usability of functional pillows, it was found to be higher than other pillows in all indicators such as product performance, ease of use and suitability. Through these results, it is judged that the use of functional pillows can eliminate the causes of sleep disturbances such as straight neck and snoring by inducing the C-curve of the cervical spine at the height of the pillow that considers the body type that is considered important when sleeping. According to this study, the sleep time of Koreans is lower than that of other developed countries. In particular, environmental and psychological factors.
