The purpose of this study was to find the effects of a body shape index, waist circumference, body mass index on body composition in college students. A total of 179(females=97, males=82) subjects participated in this study. All subjects of this study were examined the body composition(skeletal muscle mass, muscle mass, fat mass, lean body mass, total body water, protein, minerals), waist circumference, body mass index. Statistical analysis was done using correlation and standard regression analysis with SPSS 18.0. The statistical significance was set at the level of α<.05. In results, waist circumference effected to most constituents (skeletal muscle mass, muscle mass, fat mass, lean body mass, total body water, protein, minerals) of body composition. However, the body shape index only showed difference in fat mass of body composition. In conclusions, a body shape index did less association to most of factors of body composition. Therefore, the waist circumference is more useful as an indicator of the body composition rather than the body shape index.
The purpose for this study was to determine a scheme for counselling and the influences on the Psychological Adaptation of Adolescents to Internet Addiction(PAAIA). The specific objectives of this study were 1) to analyze the difference of PAAIA according to the levels of Internet Addiction, 2) to analyze the influence on PAAIA according to the levels of Internet Addiction and 3) a study for counselling in Christian adolescents of internet addiction. The data were collected from 890 randomly sampled Korean-American and Korean Christian adolescents from 4 areas of Seoul and Kyung-gi province in Korea and 6 areas from Virginia and other States in America. After data cleaning, 883 questionnaires were used for data analysis. The SPSSWIN 13.0 program was used in analyzing the data, and a series of statistical tests were conducted including frequency, percentile, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, multiple stepwise regression, and optimal scaling regression. The statistical significance level was .05. The result certified through this study is as following. 1) The internet addiction type by the respondents was classified into that 4.41(Korean-American) and 6.48(Korean) in internet addiction group, 14.13 (Korean-American) and 19.77(Korean) in internet suspicion addiction group, 81.46 (Korean-American) and 73.72(Korean)in normalcy group. 2) The level of respondents in internet addiction group displayed a relatively higher point to the category of offensiveness and depression. 3) The influence of internet addiction on the psychological adaptation of Christian adolescents offensiveness influenced 15%(Korean-American) and 11%(Korean), depression 13%(Korean-American) and 16%(Korean) influenced of the total variation.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the physical activity participation and health concern of elderly women. The subjects of the study consisted of 400 old adults over 65 years in Seoul and Kyunggi-do areas. 7 of them are not reviewed because of untimely response and doubted sincerity of their answers. The survey methods of this research are the VAS(visual Analogue Scale:1-5) for self-rated health concern and the 6 Likert Scale modified the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale by Wallston, Wallston, & DeVellis (18item, 1978). The used statistical methods for the data analysis were mean, standard deviation, reliability analysis, frequency analysis, crosstabs, x²(Chi-square), one-way ANOVA. The study conclusions from this study summarized as follow: First, there were differences in the level of Health status according to the physical activity participation of elderly women, Second, there were differences in the level of Health Locus of Control according to the physical activity participation of elderly women, the physical activity participation for elderly women showed higher score than non-participants in the health Locus of Control.
Nowadays the writing class for college students is strengthening and the writing tends to connect students’ major. However most of the writing class has been taught by professors who are majoring in Korean linguistics or literature or philosophy. Therefore the teaching the students of science and engineering’s writing is turned over the teaching method for other departments’ students. In this thesis, I tried to study the writing’s characteristics of students in science and engineering departments and to design the evaluation basis. First of all, I examine the writing’s characteristics of students in science and engineering departments from the works of students who I taught at university. Therefore I thought that I convert the revising basis in Scientific and Technical Writing into the evaluation basis. And I applied the new evaluation basis to the students’ work. Therefore I confirm that the new evaluation basis is very efficient. In a word, evaluation has balance of process-evaluation and result- evaluation. And the professor should announce the evaluation basis to the students and evaluate the students’ works by this evaluation basis. The revising basis is the most appropriate and reasonable method of evaluation, because the evaluation pursues the perfect writing. 대학생을 대상으로 한 글쓰기 교육이 강화되고 있고, 이를 전공과 연계시켜 교육하는 추세가 확산되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 글쓰기 교육은 국어국문학 또는 철학 전공자들이 담당하고 있어, 이공계 학생들을 위한 맞춤글쓰기 교육은 다른 계열 학생들보다 뒤쳐진 느낌이다. 따라서 본고에서는 이공계 글쓰기의 특징을 살펴보고, 이를 통해 글쓰기의 평가항목을 고안해 보고자 했다. 먼저 이공계 글쓰기 강좌에서의 결과물들을 대상으로 이공계 글쓰기의 특징적인 면들을 살펴보았다. 또한 과학기술 글쓰기 교재에서의 수정법 항목을 평가항목으로 전환하는 문제를 고민했다. 그리고 학생들의 글들을 통해서 수정법 항목을 평가항목으로 전환시키는 것이 교육적으로 큰 효과를 거둘 수 있음을 확인해 보았다. 요컨대 평가는 과정평가와 결과평가가 적절하게 이루어져야 한다. 또한 평가항목은 학생들에게 미리 고지되어야 하며, 결과평가에 있어서 평가는 이 평가항목에 의해 이루어져야 한다. 그리고 평가항목은 글의 완성도를 보는 것이기 때문에, 내용과 형식 전반에 걸쳐 아우르고 있는 수정법의 항목을 활용하는 것이 가장 적절하고도 타당함을 알 수 있었다.
