A 2-year-old, spayed female dog with the chief concern of repeated aggression to strange person at owner’s dock and house was presented to the Animal Behavior Clinic at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. Based on the questionnaire and interview about dog, territorial aggression was diagnosed. Behavior modification protocols (protocol for deference; protocol for relaxation; ignore unwanted behaviors; reward relaxed behaviors; using Promise collar; avoid all situations that elicit aggression) were recommended. After 6 months from the first consulting, aggressive behaviors of the dog were alleviated.

This study was conducted to assess the application of spectrograms in the diagnosis of laryngeal paralysis and the arytenoidopexy with bilateral vocal cord excision (laryngofissure) for the relief of laryngeal paralysis. Laryngeal paralysis represented two types of stridor A and B (AN, PN). There were significant differences in Dominant Frequency ( DF, p<0.01), which were $3590{\pm} 209.81 Hz, 7445\{pm}418.54 Hz$, respectively. After arytenoidopexy with bilateral vocal cord excision (laryngofissure), $PaO_{2} levels (100.57{\pm}7.59 mmHg) were more increased than that (86.5 {\pm} 3.34 mmHg)$ of pre-operative dogs.

A five-month old female dog was presented to Teaching Anilmal Hospital, Gyeongasng National University for femur fracture. Previously the dog had been presented to a local hospital. Orthopedic and blood examinations were conducted. There was absent response of conscious propri- oception. The dog stood knuckled onto the digits and had hock dropped, but showed no117a1 values in WBC.RBC, Hb, PCV, BUN, Creatine, Glucose, Cholesterol, AST and ALT. Plain radioaraphs were taken and there were abundant periosteal reaction and malalignment of fragments. The dog was anesthetized and prepared for aseptic surgery. Joshi external fixator and half pins were applied(uni lateral). AT 8 weeks after surgery, the pins were removed from the bone. The fracture was well healed wish no evidence of original fracture line. but mild muscle atropy and shortening of femur were found.

An eight-month old female mixed breed dog was presented to the at Gyeongsang National University Animal Hospital, for tarsocrural arthrodesis. Previously the dog had been presented to a local animal clinic. Orthopedic and blood examinations were conducted. There was absent response of conscious proprioception on the right tarsocrural articulation. The dog stood knuckled onto the digits and had hock dropped but showed normal values in WBC, RBC, Hb, PCV, BUN, creatine, glucose, cholesterol, AST and ALT analyses. The dog was anesthetized and prepared for aseptic surgery. Steinmann pin and Joshi external fixators were applied(bilaterally). 11 weeks after the operation, the external fixators were removed from the bones. The hock dropped was well stabilized, but mild knuckling of distal metatarsopharangeal joint was remained.

Rectal Prolapse Due to Rectal Polyp Associated with Chronic Eosinophilic Proctitis in a Rex Rabbit

An 11-year-old male Rex rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) had a rectal prolapse induced by a polypoid mass. The mass was highly vascularized with a cauliflower-like appearance. Anorectal papilloma was suspected, and fine needle aspiration cytology showed eosinophilic inflammation. After surgical removal of the polyp, postoperative care was given, such as systemic antibiotics and analgesics. In the re-examination, the rabbit was resolved, and there were no complications. Histopathological examination of the removed polyp indicated chronic eosinophilic proctitis to be the cause of the inflammatory condition of the protruding rectal polyp

미성숙견에서 선천성 Peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia 발생례

A 5-month-old, 5kg, intact male mixed dog was admitted to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of the College of Veterinary Medicine Cornell University because of severe systolic murmur. On physical examination, the dog appeared to be thin and slightly small for his age. Radiographic studies with barium sulfate clearly showed the presence of loops of intestines in the pericardium. Based on these findings peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia was diagnosed. Many abnormalities were found in dog's heart : ventricular septal defect, pulmonic stenosis with moderate pulmonic valve insufficiency, and mild mitral and tricuspid valve insufficiency. Puppy's longterm prognosis was fair. His intestines were removed from his pericardium and the defect in his diaphragm was closed. The surgery went smoothly and puppy recovered very nicely from anesthesia.

To investigate the effects of sedation, anesthesia and surgery on lymphocyte blastogenesis, the administration of propionyl promzine and ketamine HCI and osteotomy of femoral head either alone of in combination were performed in dogs. Lymphocyte blastogenesis to the PHA-M stimulation was measured by counting $^3H-thymidine$ incorporated. Significant decrease of blastogenesis was observed until 72 hours after treatment in the group treated with propionyl proazine, but only at 4 hours in the group treated with ketamine HCI. In the group in which anesthesia and osteotomy of femoral head were performed blastogenesis decreased significantly until 24 hours after treatment. The present study indicated that transient depression of the lymphocyte blastogenesis after surgery was occurred due to the sedation and anesthesia as well as surgery itself.

This study was performed to analyse the common calls of poddle spectrographically : bark, growl, howl, snore, yelp and whine. The sonograms of 6 common calls were shown their own specific features. There were significant differences among each types of common callsin the parceter of minimun frequency of call (MIFC), maximun frequency of call (MAFC), duration of call (DC), interval between call (IBC), dominant frequency (DF), F1 formant, F2 formant and F3 formant (P<0.01). It was considered that it was possible to record the main common calls dogs by sonograms and it sould be applied to objective basic data for understanding the psychological stats of dogs, the social relationship among them and the relationship sith human being.

폐석재와 석분을 사용한 식생블럭 제품 개발

본 연구는 폐석재와 석분을 사용하여 친환경적인 식생블럭 제품을 개발하기 위하여 폐석재의 입경과 석분의 첨가량을 각각 3종류씩 총 9종류의 식생블럭에 대하여 단위중량, 공극율, 투수량, 압축강도, 쪼갬인장강도, 휨강도, 내산성, 알카리농도에 대하여 구명하였다. 단위중량, 강도, 내산성은 골재의 입경이 작을수록 석분의 혼입량이 많을수록 크게 나타났으며, 공극율과 투수량은 작게 나타났다. 강도는 중성화 처리 유무에 따라 4∼5% 정도의 미소한 차이가 나타났다. 알카리 농도는 중성화 약품처리, 수중용출, 야외폭로 순으로 효과가 크게 나타났으며, 이는 식생블럭의 중성화 방법 선택에 매우 중요한 내용이라 할 수 있다. 또한, 식생상태는 공극율과 골재의 입경이 큰 식생블럭이 생육에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. This study was performed to develop the environment-friendly plantable block and to evaluate unit weight, void ratio, permeability, strength, acid-resistance and value of pH by the change of the grading of waste stone and the addition amount of stone dust. The unit weight, strength, acid-resistance is increased with small size of waste stone with increase of the addition amount of stone dust. But, the void ratio and permeability is decreased. The strength of neutral plantable block is decreased approximately 4-5% than that of the normal plantable block. The decreased effect of pH increased in order to neutral treatment, underwater leaching and field exposure. It is very important contents in neutral method selection of plantable block. Also, the planting state is grown rapidly with increase of the void ratio and of the waste stone size, approximately.
