        The Study on Factors Affecting Will of self-sufficiency and Preparation of self-sufficiency for College Students Am, Woo-Jin Dept. of Social Welfare Graduate School, Daejeon University Directed by Prof. Shim, Woo-Chan Ph. D. Abstract The study is aimed at looking into factors affecting will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency for college students, and based on the results, at making policy and practice implications. For this, the analysis on factors affecting will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency for college students was conducted with 382 college students attending 4-year universities and 2-year colleges that are located in Daejeon. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, as a result of analyzing factors affecting will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency according to socio-demographic characteristics, there was statistically significant difference in self-control and the will to work that are sub factors of will of self-sufficiency according to their years, ages and physical condition. Personal relations which is among sub factors of preparation of self-sufficiency showed statistically significant difference according to their ages and physical conditions, and there was a statistically significant difference in problem-solving ability depending on their years, ages and physical condition. Second, self-efficacy as an independent variable affected all sub factors of will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency, and it was found that the support from their friends and seniors and juniors affected only two sub factors of preparation of self-sufficiency. Therefore, based on these study results, the implications that could improve will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency were sought as follows. First, the development and introduction of programs to improve self-efficacy are required. Second, a method that can utilize the support from friends and seniors and juniors needs to be actively utilized. Third, it is necessary to review the point thoroughly that the support from family and relatives, the support of university staff and services for employment do not directly affect will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to develop programs to inspire basic will of self-sufficiency for the purpose of employment and life that are essentially required for self-sufficiency prior to direct instillation of employable knowledge and skills such as employment and entrepreneurship education and writing a resume or interview skills. Recently, not only staff from the employment assistance office but also professors from students' majoring department are required to provide career guidance and career consultation. In order for the career guidance and consultation to be effective, it is necessary to train and help professionals to instill the meaning and importance of self-sufficiency into college students. In first of all, the efforts to make the students recognize that will of self-sufficiency and preparation of self-sufficiency are required before providing training and service related to employment must be preceded so that college students who are late adolescents or emerging adults could welcome adulthood by themselves, and then the analysis on their desire needs to be conducted soon to figure out what they need for inspiring will of self-sufficiency and preparing for substantive self-sufficiency.         Background: In surgical procedures under general anesthesia, 8 hours of (NPO; nothing by mouth) has been regarded as essential for prevention of respiratory complication such as aspiration. However, recent studies have reported that oral intake of water and other clear fluids up to 4 hours before induction of anesthesia does not increase respiratory problems. Purpose: The purpose of this pilot study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of a newly developed carbohydrate drink in urology surgery patients. The aims of this study were to assess the tolerance of preoperative carbohydrate drink administration and to determine its effect on postoperative metabolic and clinical responses. Method: fifty-seven patients undergoing urology operation were randomized into one of two groups. Group 1 were given pre-operative carbohydrate drink. Group 2 were fasted. The enrolled study group 1 of patients was permitted to drink a carbohydrate-rich solution 400ml until four hours before the operation. postoperation Time to first gas out time were recorded. The feelings of thirst, hunger, anxiety were measured pre-operatively, and nausea was measured post-operatively. Results: A preoperative CHO supplement significantly reduced thirstiness, hunger compared with fasting at the beginning of the surgery. fifty-three patients were recruited and 53 (42 male: 11 female) completed this study. twenty-six patients were randomised to receive the fasting(control group) and twenty-seven patients to receive the carbohydrate drink (CHOD group). Groups were difference-matched in terms of gender. compared with the controlled group, the experimental group had significantly better outcomes in thirstiness and hunger(P<.05). but there were no differences between the two groups for anxiery, post-opertive nausea, and vomiting and first gas passage. Conclusions / Implications for Practice: Allowing the administration of an oral carbohydrate-containing drink in elective surgery patients requiring general anesthesia is safe without serious respiratory complications and effective in providing satisfaction. Provision of a carbohydrate drink prior to surgery may decreased depletion of thirstiness and hunger after surgery. Further studies are required to determine if this safety is reflected in improved function and reduced discomfort.

      • 야니스 쿠넬리스(Jannis Kounellis)의 작품세계를 재해석한 패션디자인 연구

        Fashion and art, which share a history as long as mankind has been on the earth and have a close relationship with humans, have been the most instinctive medium for humans to reveal their desire for expression and aesthetic nature. Therefore, it is natural and desirable to combine fashion and art based on these biological similarities, and the numerous encounters of fashion and art over a long period of time proves this. This study aims to promote the encounter between fashion and art by creating fashion design works that reinterpret the world of Jannis Kounellis. The order of this research is as follows: It first examines Arte Povera's historical background, theoretical consideration, and influence, and then analyses the art world of Kounellis, a key figure in this art trend. Afterwards, the characteristics of Kounellis' works are identified through this process, and the motifs thus obtained are reinterpreted and implemented through the fashion design work called "Baraka“. To take a closer look at it, the Arte Povera movement began in the late 1960s in a grim and chaotic Italian social milieu following the defeat of World War II, to protest against the social system of the time and the overly commercialised art world and restore lost humanity through art. Arte Povera has developed into a conceptual art in an avant-garde fashion by picking up discarded or worthless materials and using them as materials for art work, and its influence continues to this day and is found in various fields including modern art. Jannis Kounellis, the artist who represents Arte Povera, shows his reflection on human’s life in a dialectical way through artwork with his own philosophy of bringing life to art. Kounellis believed that daily objects stay with humans for a long time and thus embody the history, memories, and reminiscence of life. Each object has a symbolic meaning and is used as a material to express life, breaking the boundaries between life and art. Various features can be found in Kounellis' artworks, which were mainly shown in three-dimensional works such as installation and performance. They were divided into features of content and features of form in this study. First of all, the features of the content are the meaning and conceptual parts that Kounellis wants to reveal through his work, and is usually revealed through the contrasting composition of the oppressed and the oppressor in his artworks. These oppressors refer to industry, production, social system, materialism, and the like and are symbolized mainly by industrial structures made of iron. In addition, the oppressed refers to humans and life, and everything that holds human memories such as grains, burlap sacks, and coats is used as symbols. As symbols that indicate life, all things that have or had vitality are used, and some examples are slaughtered meat, horses, birds, and roses. Death and pain are embodied as objects that are wrinkled, worn, and peeled. Those that can be used to tie such as threads or strings are used to symbolise the relationship that connects humans. On the other hand, the formal features in Jannis Kounellis’ artworks are classified into six different types: "parallelism" in which materials are placed side by side with the visual characteristics of his artwork; "contrast" in which materials with opposing properties are compared; "overlapping" where works are folded and crossed; “use of yellow colour” to give a visual effect by using a strong yellow colour along with the key material which is achromatic; the “use of fabric wrinkles and strings” by applying the characteristics of soft wrinkles; and“spatiality”that draws space into the area of artwork. Finally, based on the inspiration from the content and formal features of his artwork analysed through the fashion design work "Baraka," a total of eight clothing items are produced, which is the end product of this research. Currently, studies focusing narrowly on Jannis Kounellis' works exist, but the research that analyses his art world in depth and reinterpret it through fashion design is scanty. Considering the current situation, this study attempted to suggest a new research direction. The attempt to connect fashion with art by examining Kounellis’art world, which revealed the depth of human life, made a theoretical analysis and created a fashion design based on it. It can be a meaningful study which will become the foundation for the future research. 인류가 지나온 시간만큼 오랜 역사를 함께하며 인간과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있는 패션과 예술은 표현하고자 하는 욕구와 심미성을 본성으로 가지는 인간이 이를 가장 본능적으로 드러낼 수 있는 매개체였다. 따라서 이러한 생물학적 공통점을 가진 패션과 예술을 결합하는 것은 자연스럽고 바람직한 일이며 오랜 시간동안 이루어진 수많은 패션과 예술의 만남이 이를 증명한다. 본 연구에서는 야니스 쿠넬리스(Jannis Kounellis)의 작품세계를 통해 분석한 특징을 재해석하여 패션디자인 작품을 창작함으로써 패션과 예술의 만남을 도모하고자 한다. 연구 순서는 먼저 아르테 포베라(Arte Povera)의 시대적 배경, 이론적 고찰, 영향력 등 아르테 포베라를 전반적으로 살펴본 다음 이 예술사조의 핵심적인 인물 야니스 쿠넬리스의 작품세계를 분석한다. 이후 이를 통해 야니스 쿠넬리스 작품의 특징을 파악하고 여기서 얻은 모티프를 재해석하여 패션디자인 작품 ‘BARAKA’를 통해 구현하는 과정을 거친다. 조금 더 자세히 살펴보자면 아르테 포베라는 1960년대 후반 제2차 세계 대전 패전 이후 불안정하고 혼란스러웠던 이탈리아의 사회분위기 속에서 당대 사회 시스템과 지나치게 상업화된 예술계에 반발하고 상실된 인간성을 회복하여 삶의 본질이라고 하는 가치를 예술을 통해 찾고자 하는 데에서 시작되었다. 아르테 포베라는 버려지거나 쓸모 없는 일상의 재료들을 가져다 작품의 재료로 활용하며 전위적인 방식의 개념미술로 전개되었고 그 영향력은 오늘날까지 이어져 현대미술을 비롯한 다양한 분야에 발견된다. 이런 아르테 포베라를 대표하는 작가 야니스 쿠넬리스는 삶을 예술로 끌어들이고자 했던 자신만의 예술 철학을 가지고 인간 삶에 대한 고찰을 변증법적 방식으로 작품을 통해 보여준다. 야니스 쿠넬리스는 일상의 물건은 인간과 오랜 시간 함께 하며 삶의 역사, 기억, 추억이 깃들어 있다고 여겼으며 각각의 물건에 상징성을 담아 삶을 표현하는 재료로 활용하며 삶과 예술의 경계를 허무는 작업을 하였다. 주로 설치나 퍼포먼스 같이 입체적인 작업을 통해 자신의 철학을 드러냈던 야니스 쿠넬리스의 작품에서는 다양한 특징을 발견할 수 있는데 본 연구에서는 이를 내용적 특징과 형식적 특징으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 우선 내용적 특징은 야니스 쿠넬리스가 작품을 통해 드러내고자 하는 의미와 개념적인 부분으로 대개 작품 속에서 억압하는 존재와 억압당하는 존재의 대비되는 구도를 통해 드러난다. 이런 억압하는 존재는 산업, 생산, 사회 시스템, 물질주의 등을 가리키며 주로 철제로 이루어진 산업 생산물들로 상징된다. 또한 억압당하는 존재는 인간, 삶을 가리키며 곡물, 포대, 코트 등 인간의 기억을 품고 있는 모든 것들이 상징물로 활용된다. 이 밖에도 생명(력)을 의미하는 상징물로는 생명력을 가지고 있거나 가지고 있었던 모든 것들을 활용하며, 도축된 고기, 말, 새, 장미 등이 있다. 죽음, 고통은 주름지거나 닳아버리고 벗겨진 형태를 보이는 사물들로 형상화하고 실이나 끈과 같이 묶거나 연결할 수 있는 것은 인간을 이어주는 인연을 상징하는 상징물로 활용된다. 한 편, 형식적인 특징은 야니스 쿠넬리스의 작품에서 시각적으로 드러나는 특징들로 재료를 나란히 배치하는 ‘병렬성’, 성질이 상반되는 재료를 대비시키는 ‘대비성’, 작품의 요소가 서로 포개어지고 가로지르는 ‘중첩성’, 명시성이 강한 노랑색을 무채색의 주재료와 함께 사용하여 시각적 효과를 주는 ‘노랑색의 활용’, 원단이 부드럽게 주름지는 특성을 활용하는 ‘원단 주름과 끈의 활용’, 그리고 공간을 작 품의 영역으로 끌어들이는 ‘공간성’의 6가지로 분류하였다. 끝으로 패션디자인 작품 ‘BARAKA’를 통해 이렇게 분석한 야니스 쿠넬리스 작품의 내용적, 형식적 특징에서 받은 영감을 바탕으로 총 8착장의 옷을 제작하며 연구에 방점을 찍는다. 본 연구는 야니스 쿠넬리스의 작품에 대한 단독연구만 존재할 뿐 그의 작품세계를 심도 있게 분석하고 이를 패션디자인을 통하여 재해석하는 연구는 부족한 실정에서 새로운 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 따라서 인간의 삶을 드러내던 야니스 쿠넬리스의 작품세계를 고찰하여 이론적 분석을 하고 이를 토대로 패션디자인 작품을 제작함으로써 패션과 예술을 연계시키려는 시도는 후속연구의 밑거름이 될 수 있다는 점에서 의미 있는 연구가 되리라 본다.
