「리틀 기딩」과 앵글로 가톨릭시즘

엘리엇은 니콜라스 페라의 영국의 종교 공동체인 리틀 기딩에서 자신의 앵글로 가톨릭의 종교적 정체성을 찾았다. 엘리엇은 「리틀 기딩」에서 자신의 신앙과 믿음의 교리인 성육화를 제시했으며 성요한의 십자가나 단테와 같은 가톨릭의 신앙의 전통을 시로 구현했다. 엘리엇은 「리틀 기딩」에서 역사에 주목하며 찰스 1세와 청교도간의 종교전쟁이 인간의 욕망이 신앙의 이름으로 변한 역사적 사건에 주목하며 역사는 반복되고 있음을 보여준다. 시인은 시간 속에 영원이 내려오는 성육화가 정점으로 표현되는 신비체험을 「리틀 기딩」에서 보여주며 자신의 죄를 깊이 인식하며 역사에서 은총이 오는 정점의 순간에 앵글로 가톨릭적인 신앙의 정체성을 제시한다.

IT-BSC와 AHP를 사용한 유통매장 전자가격정보시스템 도입 전후 성과요인의 Priority-Gap 측정에 관한 연구

This article is an exploratory empirical study on the introduction of the Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) system, which is spreading to offline stores as a new price information system for retail stores in Korea. In order to conduct this study, eight measurement items were derived from the IT-BSC perspective as performance factors, and the AHP technique was used as a method for relative evaluation of priorities among the items. The survey, which was conducted for about 1 year and 6 months, examined changes in store employees' perceptions of performance factors before and after the introduction of the ESL system. The results showed that there were differences in high priority items between before and after introduction. This study suggests academic implications in that the AHP technique is used to measure the change in the perception of post-performance and expectation factors for products and services, and this study also suggests practical implications by raising the need for continuous improvement of products and services for customer value propositions that change with the maturity of the experience.

IT-BSC와 AHP를 사용한 유통매장 전자가격정보시스템 도입요인의 Priority-Gap 측정에 관한 연구

본 연구는 유통매장의 새로운 가격정보시스템으로서 국내 오프라인 매장으로 확산되고 있는 전자가격라벨 (Electronic Shelf Labels; ESL) 시스템의 도입요인과 관련한 탐색적 실증연구이다. 연구의 수행을 위해서 도입요 인을 평가하기 위한 8개의 측정항목을 IT-BSC 관점에서 도출하였고, 각 항목들 간의 우선순위를 상대 평가하 기 위해 AHP 기법을 사용하였다. 약 1년 6개월 동안 진행된 설문조사를 통해서 ESL 시스템 도입 전후의 평가 항목들에 대한 매장 직원들의 우선순위 인식변화를 조사하였다. 조사결과 도입 전과 도입 후 사이에서 우선순 위가 높은 항목들에 차이가 발생한 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 제품과 서비스에 대한 기대와 인지된 사후 성과 간의 Gap 측정방법으로 AHP 기법을 활용했다는 점에서 학술적 시사점을 제시하며, 사용경험의 성숙도에 따라 변화하는 고객가치 제안을 위해서 제품과 서비스의 지속적인 개선 필요성을 제기한다는 점에서 실무적 시사점을 제시하고 있다. A. R. Ammons’s Vision in Taoism

The purpose of this paper is to study the traces of Lao-tse including taoist contemplation to restore our narrowed vision and to gain its original wholeness with nature in his poetry. To reach contemplation, which culminates in mystical experience is to escape from the abstract eye of science. Ammons bestows the glorification to things lowly, unnoticed and hidden, such as moss, grass,weeds, licks, ticks, and beggar with the help of an absolute. Desire that prevents us from reaching contemplation, the crucial terminology of Tao Te Ching of Lao-tse doesn’t make us see the mystery(妙). The heart of contemplation lies in pure mind. Pure mind let us see the mystery of the things and nature which emptied of desire. This mystical vision of Lao-tse is taoist contemplation, which is like Ammons’ poetic vision, and they both make us see things commons, humble, lowly yet magnificent with being.

T. S. Eliot was raised and educated under the influence of his Unitarian parents and family. Thanks to William Greenleaf Eliot, the founder who is Washington University in St. Louis and the Church of the Messiah, which is the first Unitarian church, Eliot’s father and mother practised and inculcated the family religion to T. S. Eliot. His mother, Charlotte Champe Eliot, was a writer and a reformer and committed to father-in-law’s decrees. But Eliot criticized radicalism of Christianity―it made it too tepid, too liberal, too much like the enlightened Unitarianism of his family. Eliot also worried about the Church as an institution. Eliot’s denounced empty idolatry of forms with the reforming zeal that his forebears had. Eliot took up a position opposite to the humanitarian attitude of his mother and grandfather, the faith that one tries to approach God through human effort. Everytime he went back during these undergraduate years to join in his family’s Sunday’s worship, he found it an increasingly stifling ritual. Eliot suffered religious experiences “as though traversing the Boston street were like wading through time” in undergraduate years at Harvard which are described in his Four Quartets. Eliot divorced his wife through his attorney in spite of her refusal to recognize a divorce. Eliot repented his wrongdoing due to the consciousness of guilty to her and marriage life since his former wife died lonely in mental hospital. During the rest of his life he suffered from his deeds, for which he was possessed of the consciousness of guilty and sin to his dead wife. The sense of damnation, the remorse and guilt that Vivienne evoked were essential to Eliot’s long purgatorial journey that continued long after his formal conversion and their separation six years later. He could escape from her, morally, only by embracing the ascetic Way of the Catholic mystics. In “Little Gidding” of Four Quartets written during in remorse and the sense of guilt due to the debt to Vivienne, we can find the opposite meanings that are both the fire of bomb implying the death of desire and the fire of Christ implying the love of Spirit. Eliot showed a sense of sin through the protagonists of his later poetic plays. In his poetic plays, Eliot sought human love, which was the fruit of blessings of his second marriage free from guilty consciousness after revealing his sin to his family.

「이스트 코우커」의 기원과 T. S. 엘리엇의 앵글로 가톨릭 정체성

엘리엇은 오랜 기간에 철학과 종교의 긴 순례를 거치면서 회의와 배반 그리고 반성의 시간을 가지면서 마침내는 앵글로 가톨릭의 정체성을 가진다. 그가 영국 성공회로 개종하게 된 가장 큰 이유는 가톨릭주의만이 이런 체계 안에서 유일하고 진실로 설득력 있고 권위적인 것으로 보며 모든 세속적인 철학에 대한 잠재적인 불만족에 기인했던 것으로 회상했다. 엘리엇의 이스트 코우커 교회의 묘비명에 있는 “나의 끝에 나의 시작이 있다”는 시구는 오랜 기간 동안의 관념적이고 정신적인 고향으로 긴 여행 후에 눈에 띠지 않게 기독교를 완전히 수용한 표현이다. 세례와 견진 성사를 받은 후에 엘리엇은 두 발로 긴 여행을 막 끝마쳤을 때 편한 의자에 앉은 자신을 회상했다. 엘리엇은 “개인의 헌신에 중요한 기도와 공동체의 상당히 훈련받은 환경에서 추구되는 종교적인 공동체들의 삶에 깊이 이끌렸고 이런 종교적인 질서들은 앵글로 가톨릭에 중요한 영향을 주었다고” 말했다. 기도와 명상의 종교적인 삶과 실천하는 존경하는 공동체가 엘리엇의 이상이라는 신념은 그의 앵글로 가톨릭의 정체성을 보여준다.
