1. The immune complexes were observed in Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) patient's lungs and kidneys but not observed in normal human lungs and kidney tissues. 2. The immune complexes observed in the lungs of HFRS patients were different from kidneys of the same patient in morphology and distribution. In lungs, complexes mere accumulated in some tissue regions such as bronchioles. In kidneys, they were existed to amorphous clusters in all over the tissues. 3. These complexes were commonly observed in the lungs and kidneys of HFRS patients after polyvalent and anti-IgG, anti-complement C₃ treatment, but not with anti-IgM and anti-IgA. Their fluorescent intensity was the strongest after treatment of polyvalent, and anti-IgG. Anti-C₃ was less than polyvalent but in case of immune complexes in lungs, C₃ was the strongest and was in order of polyvalent and anti-IgG. 4. When these complexes were existed in lungs, their existence in kidneys were not certain. But when many immune complex clusters in kidneys were observed, they were not observed in lungs of same HFRS patient.

Korean hemorrhagic fever(KHF) reported for the first time in Korea in 1951, althought it had previously been known from both Manchuria and Russia. Since that time it has been known as Korean hemorrhagic fever and has remained endemic near the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. In 1976 and 1978, Lee et al reported the isolation of Hantaan virus, the etiologic agent of KHF, from the patients and Apodemus agrarius coreae collected in the endemic areas of KHF and developed Lee's method of serological diagnosis of KHF. Very recently, Lee et al demonstrated virus excretion in the urine of infected Apodemus agrarius for a long time. The urine from both Apodemus agrarius and susceptible human were examined its effect on the infectivity of Hantaan virus to Apodemus mice. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The urine from Apodemus agrarius rodent, the natural reservoir of Hantaan virus, had higher activity to inactivate the infectivity of Hantaan virus than that of human. 2) The urine from Apodemus agrarius just after sampling was pH 8.3 and it had stronger antiviral activity than the urine adjusted to pH 7.2. 3) pH of human urine just after sampling was 6.1 and this urine decreased 10~100 10? of the virus after 3 hours in room temperature, but the urine with pH 7.2 had no change to infectivity of the virus.

We experienced a case of aldosterone and cortisol secreting adrenal adenoma associated with pregnancy in a 23 year old female patient. The patient complained of severe thoraco-lumbar pain, weight gain, sweating, anxiety, and mild abdominal discomfort. On physical findings, hypertension, tachycardia, facial plethora, moon face, buffalo hump and truncal obesity were found. Laboratory findings showed hypernateremia and hipokalemia. Endocrine tests included decreased renin and P·ACTH, increased aldesterone, cortisol and 24 hr urine free cortisol, and not suppressed Dexamethasone supression test. Abdomial CT scan demonstrated 4×3.5×3㎝ sized, well encapsulated mass, not associated with central necrosis or metastasis. Unilateral total adrenalectomy was performed and confirmed to benign adrenal (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 9: 39∼45, 1994)
