        A case of congenital vallecular cyst associated with gastroesophageal reflux presenting with stridor, feeding cyanosis, and failure to thrive

        Vallecular cyst is an uncommon but potentially dangerous condition causing stridor and has been associated with sudden airway obstruction resulting in death due to its anatomical location in neonates. It may also present with various degrees of feeding problems resulting in failure to thrive. When a vallecular cyst is suspected clinically, endoscopic laryngoscopy is necessary to visualize it. Other conditions leading to neonatal stridor such as laryngomalacia and other laryngotracheal abnormalities should be ruled out. Marsupialization with a CO2 laser is the most effective and safest treatment to prevent recurrence. We report a case of a 1-month-old male infant with a vallecular cyst synchronous with gastroesophageal reflux, and failure to thrive. He was referred to our hospital because of hoarseness, inspiratory stridor, feeding-cyanosis, chest retraction and failure to thrive. Diagnostic workup revealed a cyst at the tongue base, suggesting a vallecular cyst. The cyst was removed by laryngomicrosurgery with CO2 laser. After the surgery, the symptoms improved and the body weight increased steadily. We report a successfully treated case of neonatal vallecular cyst with symptoms of upper respiratory obstruction, gastroesophageal reflux, and failure to thrive.

        프랑스어 문법의 간접 보어와 상황 보어에 대한 연구

        French grammar continued its evolution in morpho-syntax theory. In particular, this study examine indirect complements and circumstantial complements of verbs to promote the ability of learners to adhere to grammatical and vocabulary rules through norms. Unlike English, complements appear to be different in French, so these criteria were examined in detail in this paper. In French, indirect complement is a component of a sentence, but circumstantial complement is explicitly connected in time and place. In the Francophnonie, the French language is used as the mother tongue (FLM: Français langue maternelle) or as second language (FLS: Français langue secondaire). Even in the Francophonie using the same language, the research methodologies and problems related to the geopolitical diversity were raised continuously. In this way, research is earnestly needed to strengthen language learning and communication based on the backgrounds of various countries and different cultures of French used globally. 프랑스어 학습자들에게 규범을 통해 문법 및 어휘 규칙을 준수하는 능력을 증진시키기 위해서는 맨 먼저 동사의 간접 보어와 상황 보어의 재점검이 요구된다. 문장의 핵인 동사와 한 문장의 보어들 사이의 요소들이 영어와 다르게 프랑스어에서는 여러 양상으로 나타나기 때문이다. 프랑스어에서 간접 보어는 문장의 구성요소이지만 상황 보어는 시간과 장소 등에서 명시적으로 연결되어 있음을 자세히 살펴보았다. 프랑코포니에서는 프랑스어가 모국어(FLM) 또는 제2언어(FLS)로 사용되지만, 동일한 언어인 프랑스어를 사용하고 있음에도 불구하고 지정학적 다양성과 관련된 여러 언어 연구와 문제점이 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 전 세계적으로 사용되는 프랑스어의 다양한 국가의 배경 및 서로 다른 문화 전반에 기반을 둔 언어학습 및 의사소통 강화를 위한 연구가 절실히 필요한 시점이다.

        프랑스어 전공 여부에 따른 학습자의 문화교육 요구도와 활성화 방안

        The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of learners on French cultural education and their needs for that in consideration of whether they majored in the French language or not in an effort to provide information on learning the culture of the target language. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the learners investigated considered it necessary for colleges to provide cultural education, and the students who majored in French deemed it more necessary than the others who didn't. Second, the learners didn't think that learners of a particular language could have a smooth communication with native speakers without receiving cultural education, and this opinion was more supported by the students who majored in French than by the others who hadn't. Third, the learners thought that the preparation of sufficient audiovisual materials was most necessary for successful cultural education, and the students who didn't majored in French felt more need for a separate textbook about culture than those who did. Thus, there were differences among the learners in awareness of and needs for cultural education according as they majored in French or not. Therefore the characteristics of learners should be taken into account when cultural education is provided in French class.

        외국어 전공 여부에 따른 대학생의 문화교육 인식 및 요구도 분석

        The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of college students about cultural education of foreign countries and their needs for that in consideration of whether they majored in foreign language or not. It's basically meant to provide information on the revitalization of cultural education of foreign countries. There were differences among the college students in awareness of cultural education about other countries and needs for that according as they majored in foreign language or not. Therefore there should be a consensus about cultural education among students when they receive that education, and the expansion of educational facilities and materials is required to step up the revitalization of cultural education about foreign countries. 외국어 교육은 목표언어와 본국 언어 간에 문화의 유사점과 차이점을 대조 분석할 수 있어야 흥미와 호기심이 충족됨으로서 문화교육 효과가 높아진다. 외국어 교육의 목표는 해당 문화의 이해를 통해 학습자들 개인의 인식을 변화시키고 나아가 세계를 인식하는 시각과 관점을 증진시켜야 한다. 이런 의미에서 문화교육에서는 학습자가 알고 싶어 하는 문화 항목을 가르치는 것이 중요하므로, 문화교육에 학습자들의 인식 및 요구도를 파악하는 것은 중요한 의미를 지닌다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 대학생들의 외국어 전공 여부에 따른 문화교육 인식 및 요구도를 살펴봄으로써 효과적인 문화교육 실시와 문화교육의 활성화 방안을 모색하였다. 대학생들의 외국어 전공 여부에 따른 문화교육의 인식 및 요구도를 조사였으며 이를 바탕으로 문화교육의 활성화 및 효과적인 문화교육의 기초 자료들을 제시하였다. 학생들은 외국어 전공 여부에 따라 문화교육에 대한 인식과 요구도에 있어 차이를 보이고 있으므로 문화교육 시에는 학생들의 외국어 전공 여부와 관계없이 공감대를 이룰 수 있도록 해야 한다. 또한 문화교육의 내용은 단지 학생들의 흥미 위주로 구성할 것이 아니라 학생들의 학습 욕구와 필요, 지적 수준에 맞는 내용을 학습하게 하여 학생들의 학습 의욕을 높일 수 있는 내용으로 구성해야 할 것이다.

        영․불 통번역 교육과정 연구 - 외국어 전공 대학생의 요구분석을 중심으로 -

        Depuis les années 1990, des conférences, des ouvrages et des revues concernant la traduction et l’interprétation ont été publiés dans différentes langues. L’intérêt pour ce domaine d’activité et sa nécessité s’accroissent de jour en jour dans le monde entier. Etant une discipline en cours d’installation, la formation en traduction et interprétation est souvent méconnue. La décentralisation entraine des sollicitations pour les collectivités locales qui sont amenées à préparer des événements internationaux. Il est essentiel de former des personnes compétentes en traduction et interprétation, qui travailleront lors de ces occasions. Parmi 650 personnes interrogées au sujet de la formation actuellement dispensée, 591 ont participé à notre enquête (91%). La plupart des personnes interrogées ont répondu qu’elles sont satisfaites de leur formation actuelle et qu’elles choisiraient la même discipline si elles avaient à refaire un choix. Lorsqu’il s’agit de la question sur la réorganisation du programme d’étude, les sondés souhaitent d’abord le remplacement de modules inefficaces par ceux plus pratiques, et ensuite, la diversification des méthodes d’enseignement. Ici, une interprétation sur les modules plus pratiques souhaités par les étudiants, semble méritée. Le jugement sur l’efficacité d’un module n’appartient pas aux étudiants, mais aux futurs employeurs des diplômés en traduction et interprétation. 68% des personnes interrogées sont d’accord sur le projet d’ouverture d’un nouveau parcours en traduction et interprétation. 71.2% des étudiants sondés estiment que ce nouveau parcours étudiant favoriserait l’embauche. Quant à l’intention d’entamer un parcours en traduction et interprétation, dans le cadre d’études après la licence, 33.7% ont répondu par l’affirmative. Ce taux est élevé, comparé au taux moyen d’entrées d’étudiants dans les études avancées après la licence. Il est urgent que les collectivités locales investissent dans la formation de personnes ayant une capacité pratique de communication de haut niveau en traduction et interprétation car cette compétence joue un rôle primordial à l’ère de la mondialisation. Ce mémoire a pour objectif de proposer des éléments de réflexion pour la formation des personnes compétentes en traduction et interprétation, à l’aide des demandes exprimées par des étudiants présentées dans ce mémoire. Il s’agit d’éléments à prendre en compte, qui peuvent contribuer à la conception de la base d’un programme préparant à la mondialisation, qui s’adresse aux étudiants désireux d’établir une carrière internationale.

        Pandemic, Linguistic Memes and Cultural Translation

        Along with the pandemic, memes created through online communities and YouTube are changing offline trends beyond entertainment. Memes, which were used by a small number of netizens, can now be easily followed by anyone through the mass media called SNS. It is time to discuss this meme phenomenon and the issues that need to be redefined in the fields of translation and foreign language education. This is because it is possible to provide a new perspective on the convergence research of translation, linguistics, and humanities if we understand and study the mechanism by which meaning is generated in internet memes and transmit information. Translation studies, along with linguistic memes, help adapt humans as organisms to cultural communities for the coexistence and reciprocity of languages ​​in the world. As AI and SNS rapidly spread and spread, the MZ generation needs to study the nature of language and meme translation in the educational field due to the use of short language that is improvised or transient and responds quickly to stimuli. Therefore, understanding the MZ generation through the rapidly spreading linguistics memes in the AI ​​era that started as a pandemic can greatly contribute to cultural translation in the global era. Along with this, memes can be extended to social, ability education and cultural translation in Korea. It will be able to contribute to convergence education and research.

        La politique d'assimilation des immigrés nord-africains à la société multiculturelle française

        최근 프랑스는 이주민(immigrés) 문제가 프랑스 사회의 불안요인 중 하나이다. 프랑스는 유럽에서 가장 오래된 이민 국가임에도 불구하고 이주민이 난제가 되는 이유는 프랑스 이주민 정책인 동화정책에 있다. 프랑스는 전통적으로 이주민의 인종·문화적 다양성을 공동체가 추구하는 하나의 가치에 용해시키기 위한 동화정책을 추구한다. 그러나 문화와 종교가 상이한 북아프리카 출신, 특히 에비앙협약(l'accord de l'Évian) 이후의 다수 알제리인을 포함한 모로코, 튀니지 마그렙(Maghreb) 지역 이주민은 프랑스에 동화(assimilation)되기 위해 자기가 가진 문화와 종교를 포기해야했다. 더구나 게토(ghetto)를 형성하고 살며 경제적, 교육적으로 열악한 생활로 방리유(banlieue) 지역에서 소외된 생활을 한다. 이러한 소외는 사회적 차별을 없애는 어떠한 준비가 없는 프랑스 동화정책의 산물인 것이다. 더욱이 증가하는 이민 후손인 뵈르·뵈레뜨(beur·beurette)는 본국보다 프랑스의 주류 문화에 익숙하며 동화되고 싶다는 강한 욕구를 가진다. 이들이 필요로 하는 것은 다문화 사회의 문화적 보편성과 다양성을 제도적으로 확보하는 것이다. 다시 말하자면, 늘어나는 무슬림 인구수만큼 동화정책 대상을 수정하여 이전 방법과 다른 방식의 복지정책, 문화를 이해하는 교육 등 사회적 통합을 지향한 여러 제도가 재정비되어야 한다. 오늘날 이주민 문제는 프랑스 뿐 아니라 전세계적 현상이며, 우리나라 또한 예외는 아니다. 프랑스는 북아프리카 이주민들을 프랑스적 가치와 양립 못할 존재로 동화를 강요받는 것으로 규정할 것이 아니라, 자기 사회 속에 들어온 타자의 존재를 이해하고, 이들을 프랑스 사회의 일원인 동반자 관계로 인식해야 할 것이다.

        The Linguistic Cultural Hybridity and Translation of Francophonie in Mauritius Island(L’Île Maurice) Yang, Miae (Chosun University) The purpose of this study is to examine the linguistic cultural hybridity and translation of Francophonie in Mauritius Island(L’Île Maurice). There are a variety of hybridity synchronically, and Mauritius Island of Francophonie in the Indian Ocean is the region where these are shown harmonically. Mauritius' trio-linguistic (Creole-French-English) has been well maintained and used up to now. Language and cultural hybridity in Mauritius Island is a very positive picture. The interchange and contact inherent in numerous cultures maintains vitality through language, various linguistic factors coexist in one society, and language changes endlessly and permeates and develops in external influences. Therefore, the accumulation of technical achievement through translation case study and research on multilingual text should be actively carried out in translation studies of language culture hybridity, which have not yet been systematically studied.

        Reality and Existence of Language:Media literacy and Translation

        Recently the education from college reflecting the changing 4th Industrial Revolution period, artificial intelligence, machine running, deep running AI artificial intelligence take a very important role. With the rapidly developed machine translation, quick translation of sentence measure is possible, but understanding the intensional and emotional understanding of context is hard. Along with the language issue of Maghreb area as the learning information of different culture accommodated through media increases the concern about the application of language upon media abuse may continue to exist or increase. However it is not doubt that various language issues will be brought out. As the 4th Industrial Revolution takes place the machine will replace the repetitive, simple works. In a changing world of not simple knowledge and techniques the value of translation which can create new value through ability of communication (media literacy) and fusion is expect to increase. The globalization of Korean culture through translation, the boundary between countries will disappear and if various language culture can be accommodated.

        Analysis of College Student’s Needs for Volunteer Work & Reward including Interpretation Volunteering Activity Career Status

        The purpose of this study is to examine the needs and reward for a more meaningful volunteering activity of a college student as a very important human resource seeing that the research on volunteering activity for a college student fails to be done in detail. College students having a career in interpretation volunteering activity wish to participate more in interpretation support. Students having no career in volunteering activity have higher needs for global language skill strengthening program support. The students having a career in volunteering activity, wish volunteer activity to have relevancy to their major. It is necessary to get student to have steady concern for volunteer service by actualizing the cultural programs targeting wishers for volunteer work.
