        한국인 남자 아동에서 위턱뼈 성장과 목뼈의 상관관계

        Purpose : This study was to investigate whether cervical vertebrae can be utilized in evaluating the growth of the maxilla. Materials and Methods : Fifty one male patients took lateral cephalometric radiographs once in every two years from the age of 8 till 14. Measured parameters were the concavity depth at the lower border of the third and fourth cervical vertebrae, and three analytical maxillary dimensions. Results : The analysis of the maxillary measurements and the concavity depth at the lower border of the cervical vertebrae in the lateral cephalometric radiographs showed that the measured parameters gradually increased as the patients aged. Moreover, while the parameters of the patients in age 8 and 10 did not show any correlation, those of the patients in age 12 and 14 definitely showed the correlations. Conclusions : Although certain correlations were seen in particular parameters, further researches and studies with various parameters and shorter age intervals are needed. The result of this study will help clinicians in making plans and evaluating the proposed treatment plans.

        생쥐 난자의 체외 성숙에 미치는 Melatonin의 영향

        Objective: Melatonin, which is secreted by pineal gland play an important role in the regulation of ovarian function via seasonal rhythm and sleep in most mammals. It also has a role in the protection of cells by removing toxic oxygen free radicals brought about by metabolism. In the present study, effects of melatonin on the mouse oocyte maturation were examined using two different culture conditions provided with 5% or 21% oxygen concentration. Material and Method: Immature mouse oocytes were obtained from the ovarian follicles of $3{\sim}4$ weeks old ICR strain mice intraperitoneally injected with 5 I.U. PMSG 44 hour before. Under stereomicroscope, morphologically healthy oocytes with distinct germinal vesicle (GV) were liberated from the graafian follicles and collected using mouth-controlled micropipette. They were then cultured for 17 hour at $37^{circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$ and 21% $O_2$ (95% air) or 5% $CO_2$, 5% $O_2$ and 90% $N_2$. New modified Hank's balanced salt solution (New MHBS) was used as a culture medium throughout the experiments. Effects of melatonin were examined at a concentration of $0.0001{\mu}M$, $0.01{\mu}M$ or $1.0{\mu}M$. For the prevention of spontaneous maturation of immature oocytes during culture, dibutyryl cyclic AMP (dbcAMP) and/or hypoxanthine were included in the medium. Results: Under 21% oxygen condition, oocytes cultured in the presence of $0.01{\mu}M$ melatonin showed a significantly higher maturation rates, in terms of germinal vesicle breakdown (95.0% vs 89.0%) and polar body formation (88.1% vs 75.4%), compared to those cultured with $0.0001{\mu}M$ or $1.0{\mu}M$ melatonin. However, no difference was observed in oocytes cultured under 5% oxygen whether they were treated with melatonin or not. In the presence of $0.01{\mu}M$ melatonin, oocytes either cultured under 21% or 5% oxygen exhibited no difference in the polar body formation (85.6% vs 86.7%). However, in the absence of melatonin, oocytes cultured under 21% oxygen exhibited lower polar body formation (74.7%). When oocytes were cultured in the presence of dbcAMP alone or with varying concentrations of melatonin, those treated with both compounds always showed better maturation, i.e., germinal vesicle breakdown and polar body formation, compared to those cultured with dbcAMP alone. At the same concentration of melatonin, however, oocytes exposed to 21% oxygen showed poor maturation than those to 5% oxygen. Similar results were obtained from the experiments using hypoxanthine instead of dbcAMP. Conclusion: Based upon these results, it is suggested that melatonin could enhance the meiotic maturation of mouse oocytes under 21% oxygen concentration, and release oocytes from the meiotic arrest by dbcAMP or hypoxanthine regardless of the concentration of oxygen, probably via the removal of oxygen free radicals.

        공자의 『시경』 인용을 논함

        진 나라 이전의 중국 문헌에서 발견되는 특징의 하나는 사람들이 상대방과의 대화중에 『시경』의 구절을 인용하는 것이다. 공자의 언행에 대한 기록이 많은 두 종류의 책이 있는데, 하나는 『논어』이고 다른 하나는 『공자가어』이다. 이 두 종류의 책에서 우리는 거의 100 개가 넘는 『시경』 인용 사례를 볼 수 있다. 공자는 왜 이처럼 많은 대화에서 『시경』을 말했을까. 이 모든 사례의 분석을 통해서 본 논문은 다음과 같은 결론을 내렸다. 첫째, 공자는 자기 말과 자신의 논리에 권위를 더하기 위해서 『시경』을 인용했다. 둘째, 공자는 자신의 말에 별 의미 없는 수사적인 효과를 위해서 『시경』을 인용했다. 셋째, 당시 『시경』은 문화적으로 또 문명적으로 당시 사회의 정신적 결정체였다. 특히 지식인들의 중요한 정신적 공감대이며 문화적 공통분모였다. 공자는 당시 귀족과 지식인들에게 귀중한 교재였던 『시경』에 깊이 공감했다. 보수적인 사상을 가졌던 공자는 그렇기 때문에 그런 문명적 권위와 문화적 공통분모인 『시경』에 자신의 논리를 의존했던 것이다. One of the main characteristics found in the ancient Chinese books written before the Qin(秦) dynasty is usage of quotes from ‘The Book of Songs(詩經)’ in people’s conversation. I have found, out of many historical texts, that many quotes from ‘The Book of Songs’ were frequently used by Confucius(孔子). Why would Confucius like to quote from ‘The Book of Songs’ in his analects? My thesis is to find the answer to this question. There are two history books which contains rich records of Confucius’ analects; one is Lunyu(論語) and the other is KongziJiayu(孔子家語). In these two books, there are more than 100 quotes from ‘The Book of Songs’ are used. Why did Confucius quote from ‘The Book of Songs’? After analyzing all the quote usages, the thesis concludes as such; First, Confucius used the quotes from ‘The Book of Songs’ to add more authoritative nature to his analects and logic. Second, Confucius used the quotes to add rhetorical figures in the analects. Third, ‘The Book of Songs’ was common spiritual and cultural ground for contemporary intellectuals. Especially Confucius himself felt great affinity toward ‘The Book of Songs’ which was a greatly valued educational text by contemporary nobles and intellectuals; it was also because the book was considered spiritual pinnacle of a society both culturally and civilly. As a result, Confucius who had a conservative mind needed to rely on ‘The Book of Songs’, the common denominator of civilized authority and culture.

        蘇軾〈子姑神記〉初探

        在〈子姑神記〉裡與蘇軾溝通的魂靈‘子姑’是擁有具體身世的故人,並且是具有一定才學與素養的婦女。她是作為冥界的一個冤魂,擁有通古曉今、預測未來的能力。子姑是朝代的延續過程中流傳非常廣泛的廁神,這位廁神的地位是其他廁神無法比擬的,她出現之後,其他廁神的地位就被取代,在相當長的一段時間信仰都十分活躍。在記錄並描寫子姑的眾多作家中,蘇軾就是很特別的一位,在北宋時期他的詩文記錄上子姑神是名實相符的幽魂;她的名字叫何媚,是從冥界下來跟生者溝通的冤魂。通過“扶乩”上出現的子姑神也許到處都有,但是蘇軾當時遇見的魂靈是有真實身份的一個幽魂。 There are six volumes of Sushi蘇軾 that has records related to Zigushen子姑神. Among them, 〈Zigushenji〉 is the record about Sushi’s observation of a shamanic ritual at a house in Huangzhou. Here, Sushi had a conversation with a spirit named Zigushen, and recorded the details of the conversation. This paper discusses three main points focusing on Sushi’s records. The first point is the discussion of the credibility of his story by comparing with five other works of his. The second point is the credibility analysis of the contents of the conversation with the spirit. The spirit claimed that she was a woman name Hemei during the Tang dynasty. And she described events during and after her life to Sushi in detail. She also wrote several poems after the conversation with Sushi. The third point is about how to explain this phenomenon if her words were truthful, and why Sushi slightly doubted the phenomenon. Considering these points, this work concludes as follows. Not all Zigushens in ancient Chinese literatures are Hemei, but the one in Sushi’s work is. The concreteness of the conversation and the phrases from the poems support the idea that it is not fictional. Modern Chinese scholars treat these ancient records as literary works. They argue that these fictions are of intellectuals expressing their concerns through ghost stories.However, this view is based on materialistic thinking. We can understand the mental world of ancient Chinese people, if these stories are treated, not just as literary works, but as records. There are thousands of similar stories in 《Taipingguangji太平廣記》, an ancient Chinese literature. Jiyun紀昀 of the Qing dynasty has also written many stories about shamanic rituals. His writings are relatively objective and detailed. This paper analyzes contents of Sushi’s work with Jiyun’s writings. Of course, not all phenomena of shamanic rituals are believable. Spirits can be deceitful, even when the conversation coincides with the reality. It is for this reason that Sushi was doubtful toward the Zigushen phenomenon.

        음식점 원산지 표시제 시행에 따른 소비자의 인식 및 요구도 조사 -서울시 거주하는 성인 대상-

        The purpose of this study was to investigate consumer awareness and demand related to country-of-origin labeling at restaurants, and to provide basic data to reexamine the need for current policies and to determine problems. The study found that 70% of the respondents thought that the implemented representation policy had improved food quality, and 81.3% of the respondents checked country-of-origin labeling at restaurants. In addition, 74.7% of the respondents answered that "reward for accusation" was appropriate policy. Regarding the degree of recognition of the meat importers, the respondents were well aware of the importing countries, but did not recognize the importing country of chicken. In terms of preference for meat importers, Australian beef was rated highest, but beef from the U.S. was ranked seventh. However, in preferences for pork and chicken, U.S. products were rated highest. According to the survey, in a question regarding the perception toward country-of-origin labeling, the respondents recognized that rice, beef, pork, and chicken were the targeted items. In addition, the respondents suggested that other food ingredients at restaurants should be designated as target items for country-of-origin labeling.

        Oversea Korean cultural centers play such an important role in improving national images, and as a public institution representing Korea, they are the nearest Korea to citizens in other countries of residence and really important organizations diffusing Korean culture and the Korean language at the same time. To improve national images and introduce the excellence of Korean culture around the world, therefore, it is necessary to analyze the roles and problems of oversea Korean cultural centers and develop various programs, further actively carrying out research on concrete directions for the interior design of oversea Korean cultural centers. Thus, this study aims to investigate the functions and roles of cultural centers in different countries and propose a direction for the interior design of oversea Korean cultural centers by analyzing their programs and interior design characteristics with brandscaping characteristic elements grafted so that oversea Korean cultural enters may fulfill their functions as a cultural promotion space in the process of interior design, which will increase in the near future. Based on the analysis results on the programs of oversea Korean cultural centers and brandscaping characteristic elements, oversea Korean cultural centers should adjust the rate of locally-diverse programs and draw up measures for spacial activation, while creating a new interior space to show differentiated national images according to the brandscaping characteristic elements.

        미국 드라마를 활용한 지도가 대학생들의 영어듣기 능력 향상에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of American soap operas on college students' listening ability. This research was conducted over a 12-week period with college students: two classes consisting of 27 and 26 students each. The classes were divided into an experimental group, which studied English through American soap operas, and a control group, which studied English using a typical listening text. Fifty three students in two classes were surveyed to investigate their previous learning experience and backgrounds. They were asked to take a pre-listening test to evaluate their listening proficiency. Their progress was assessed on the basis of a post-listening test. Finally, twenty seven students in the experimental group were administered to fill out a post-questionnaire in order to measure their perceptions and attitudes toward their learning experience. The findings of this study indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the control group and the experimental group with respect to their post-test scores. However, there was no statistically significant difference not only between the highly proficient students in two groups but also between the students of low proficiency in two groups. The results of this study were discussed and pedagogical implication were suggested.
