Recipient Countries’ Financial Development and the Effectiveness of Korean ODA

The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the effectiveness of Offcial Development Assistance (ODA) using Korean data. We separate total ODA into bilateral and multilateral and we measure the ODA effectiveness as economic growth and quality of life. We find that the positive effect of ODA depends on financial market development and this is stronger in multilateral aid than bilateral one. Based on these results, we suggest that Korean government should increase the share of multilateral funding and pay attention to recipients’ financial market development in making ODA decision.

공공화장실은 안전하고 쾌적하며 불특정 다수가 이용하는 공공시설물로써 공공성에 대한 배려로 알맞은 공간구성과 설비를 갖추고 위치 식별이 용이한 곳이어야 한다. 스토리텔링을 적용한 공공화장실은 지역의 문화시설, 관광시설, 공원 등과 연계한 다양한 활용방안을 구상하고 지역의 특징을 내포한 소재 중 수용자의 관점에서 구체화하는 소재의 수용과, 현대의 정서와 의미에 부합되도록 표현상 변화에 주력하는 방법으로 이야기의 내용을 공간적 기호로 변화시키는 기법적 변용, 함축적인 이야기 전달과 의미의 표현을 실제화하여 이야기의 내용을 느끼고 체험하는 압축적 실현의 형성구조로 되어있고 스토리텔링을 적용한 공공화장실 디자인 요소로는 지역성, 환경성, 기능성이 있다. 지역의 문화적 이야기를 내포하여 공유하며, 소통할 수 있는 매개적 역할을 하고 접근이 용이한 개방된 형태의 스토리텔링을 적용한 공공화장실은 지역의 활성화와 아이덴티티 확립으로 삶의 질을 향상시킨다. Public restrooms are a public facility which many and unspecified persons use. They should be safe and comfortable. Also they should be located at a noticeable place having right space and facility for the public. The first step to build public restrooms designed with storytelling is to find out various ways to apply characteristics which culture and tourist facilities and parks have in the region. The next is to find materials to contain the local characteristics. It is a step to take shape the public restrooms in their accepters` shoes. The public restrooms have a technique variation to change the story into things spatial focusing on change of expression so that they accord with modern emotion and meanings. The restrooms have a form compressing the reality to directly feel and experience a story by delivering an implicational story and realizing the expression of the meanings. To design the restrooms are needed local, environmental and functional elements. Public restrooms share users` story containing the local culture and play an important role as a tool for communication. The restrooms accessible and opened improve a quality of life activating the area and establishing its identity.

This paper examines the relationship between the cumulative abnormal returns (CARs) induced by various events and long-term operating performances in the post-event period. We gather six events from KRX Disclosure System over 2000–2011 and then ascertain the different CAR patterns. While most of other studies have focused on a single type of events, we deal with various types of events. Based on the general valuation model, stock return or price should reflect the firm’s fundamental value and we expect CARs to show a close relationship with the firm’s fundamental value over a long horizon. However, no distinct relationship between CARs and operating performances is found. The stock price reactions which are temporary and unrelated to the firm’s fundamental values may be explained by market inefficiency in Korea.
고창 갯벌에서 중국산 및 충남산 바지락의 성장, 비만도 및 폐사 특성 비교

In this study, we transplanted Chinese (CH) and Chungnam (CN) manila clam seeds to Gochang tidal flats, and compared growth, mortality, and condition index of clams from May 2015 to August 2016. Just after the clam transplant, Chungnam and Chinese clam mortality were 6.9 ± 4.3%, 16.9 ± 7.9-21.0 ± 6.3%, respectively. we supposed that higher mortality of chinese manila clams was due to higher stress and weakening of physiological functions during the long time shipping. Unlike the thought of local clam farmers, growth of the Chungnam clams were a little better than Chinese clams, and the this result is may meaning to the clam farmers in Gochang area. Condition indices of Chinese clams showed a tendency to decrease after reaching a peak in May 2014, and in June 2015, respectively. Meanwhile, Chungnam clams has reached its peak in May 2014, and in April 2015, respectively. And since then condition index has decreased. From this result, it could be supposed that there might be at least about one month difference of reproductive cycle between the Chinese and Chungnam manila clams. According to clam mortality results, which have increased sharply since June 2015, there is a need to collect sales until May, when shell length of clams are 38mm or more. As results of this study, we were able to produce scientific data that can be compared directly based on the productivity of Chinese and Chungnam manila clam at Gochang tidal flats, and these results are also considered to be meaningful to clam farmers and futher studies.

본 연구에서는 중국의 부동산 가격 및 부동산 가격의 지역별 격차를 결정하는 요인을실증분석을 통해 확인하고자 한다. 중국 31개 지역의 2001년부터 2015년 자료를 활용하여 실증분석 결과, 부동산 가격 및 가격 격차를 결정하는 지역변수로는 가계 가처분소득, 부동산투자변수가 양의 방향으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 거시변수로 포함된대출이자율과 주식시장지수는 주거용, 상업용 부동산의 경우 그 효과가 제한적인 반면, 고급아파트의 경우에서만 유의한 영향을 미치고 있다. 이자율과 주식시장 지수가하락할수록 고급 아파트 가격이 상승하고, 지역별 격차도 커지는 것을 확인한다. This paper empirically investigates the determinants of property price and its regional dispersion using Chinese 31 regional data from 2001-2015. Empirical results support that regional disposable income and real estate investment variables have positively significant impacts on property price. Lending interest rate and stock market index turn out to have a significant impact on high-grade apartment. However, those macro variables do not have significant impact on price of commercial or residential buildings. As the interest rate and stock market index decrease, price of high-graded apartment increases and regional price dispersion of high-graded apartment also increases.
