In order to contribute to sustainable development of the contents industry and resolve the regional imbalance problem in the contents industry ecosystem, this study conducted an empirical analysis of content startups in the Southeast region of Korea on the impact of in-house entrepreneurship, a core competency of startups, on entrepreneurial performance by setting internal entrepreneurship as an independent variable, learning orientation as a mediating variable, and digital competence as a moderating variable. The main findings are as follows. First, the hypothesis that intrapreneurship will have a positive effect on learning orientation is accepted. Second, the hypothesis that learning orientation has a positive effect on performance is accepted. Third, the hypothesis that learning orientation will mediate the relationship between intrapreneurship and performance is accepted. Fourth, the hypothesis that digital capabilities will moderate the relationship between learning orientation and performance is partially accepted. The findings of this study will provide direction for enhancing the competitiveness of local content startups and lay the foundation for the balanced development of the contents industry in Korea.

This study aims to provide an exploratory analysis to illuminate the role and meaning of crowd-funding, a new alternative way of attracting funds that has not been recognized in general yet. In particular, it focuses on contents startups in order to investigate which factors of crowd-funding can contribute for them in creating values, and attempt to provide the directions and implications when they utilize crowd-funding. For this, it examined the case of ‘Wadiz’, the largest crowd-funding platform in Korea, by reviewing a diverse aspect of academic materials and having in-depth interviews with Wadiz’s co-founder and a crowd-funding specialist. Analysis provides evidence that the success of Wadiz came from their role as a partner for startups, not just finance provider, that offers additional opportunities and practical assistance for contents startups’ empowerment. Based on the analysis of Wadiz’s case, this study suggests that contents startups should consider some points to create their values when they utilize crowd-funding as follows: first, the importance of startup-friendly strategy should be recognized in order to foster and expand companies’s core values; second, the differentiation in terms of visual and contents should be also considered significantly to attract public’s attentions and participation; and lastly, there needs to be a recognition of importance about fandom that can be established through continuous interactions and sharing with public. It is hoped that this analysis will be able to be used as a meaningful resource both in academic and practical fields in which materials and information on crowd-funding have been relatively scarce.

The biggest difficulty faced by startups is to secure funds, for which private investment institutions play an important role along with government support. The key is to secure funds from accelerators that provide mentoring and educational programs to startups in addition to equity investment. However, it is not easy for content startups to attract investments and maintain their survival at the local level. Most previous studies have investigated the supporting effects of accelerators or investment decision factors for startups from an investor's viewpoint. In contrast, research on content startups is extremely limited, and the ones that compared and analyzed differences from accelerators’ perspectives are in high shortage. Therefore, this study examines the viewpoints in which accelerators considered investing into content startups and actually made the investment, and investigates differences in perceptions between content startups that succeeded in attracting investment and ones that did not. For these purposes, this study conducted a survey with investment firms and content startups located in the Southeastern parts of Korea and examined the relative importance of investment decision factors with an AHP analysis. The finding shows that accelerators placed the greatest importance on “entrepreneurs (teams)" among the top investment decision factors. Startups that attracted an investment also placed the biggest importance on “entrepreneurs (teams)” while startups hoping to attract an investment did on "the market." Among the bottom factors, accelerators, startups that attracted an investment, and startups hoping to attract an investment considered “industry expertise," ”reliability," and “market size and growth potential," respectively, as the most important factor. The finding implies that content startups need to further reinforce their internal factors, including “entrepreneurs (teams)" at the local level to succeed in their initial investment. Furthermore, the finding will contribute to accelerators in order to increase their competence in identifying content startups and selecting the ones to invest in within the Southeastern parts of Korea.

Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) is an essential task in computer vision, applied various fields like video surveillance and autonomous driving. Recently, tracking-by-detection-based trackers have shown promising performance and have become predominant approaches in MOT. Our study presents a novel pseudo-depth-based appearance feature vector update algorithm to improve those tracking-by-detection-based multi-object trackers. Experiments on the DanceTrack dataset reveal significant performance improvements compared to the previous feature updating strategies.
