        As the establishment of Integrated Information Communication Network has been possible and the attainment of "Information Age" has been being accelerated with an epoch-making development of the information industry. Along with the arrival of Up-To-Date Information Age and Internationalized Age and also the demands for the communication services have been diversified and higher with the development of communication technology and the rapid development of economy and society, the field of information communication which have been monopolistically operated by the government or the private(nongovernment) is on the trend turning to a free competitive system in parallel with its private operation. And also, as the internationalization of information industry has been being promoted with the establishment of TELEPORT(Telecommunication port), with 24-hour processing and circulation of an inspection information and with the activation of international exchange of the most up-to-date information technology and the exchange of informations has been quickly made even between the related enterprises with establishment of new information systems including the value-added communication network(VAN) in all fields of the enterprise operation(and management) as well, the renovation of the operational(and managerial) system is in pursuit. To secure the strategic comparative advantages in competion between the enterprises by coping with such environmental change actively, it is considered that the need and appropriateness of the Intelligent Building, in which the conditions for office and/or business can be provided through establishment of the high communication network, renovation of the office works and automatic control of the buildings, are raised. Although the intelligent buildings are being constructed synchronously now in recognition of the need even in Korea, it is forecasted that lots of problems may be occured in the aspect of operation and management of these buildings while or after construction as there are no accumulation of the corresponding experiences and/or no development of the technology in Korea and most of the foreign technologies have been introduced without going through the due process of filtration(without any filtration). Under the proposition that the systematic readjustment of the existing concept of Intelligent Building(IB) and its management after construction should be taken into consideration from the moment when it is designed, this thesis is made up of five chapters as follows : 1) Purpose, scope and make-up of the study, 2) Need of IB in Chapter 2, 3) Trend of IB construction in Chapter 3, 4) Constructional plan(design) and management/operation of IB in Chapter 4, 5) Conclusion in Chapter 5. Since the Intelligent Building is a gateway toward the future society, it is desired that the Korean-styled Intelligent Building can be born soon through more extension of study on and investment in it in Korea as well in the future and it is hoped that this thesis can be conducive to IB industrial development even a little bit.
