The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of suicidal ideation which influenced family-of-origin health and self-differentiation as mediating factors that is college adjustment. This study used a structured questionnaire. The subjects were 351 university students who are attending college in five universities located in Jeolladuk-do province. The major results of this research were as follows. First, looking at the difference between each variables according to the general characteristic, there were similar difference in health family of origin and mother's education. Self-differentiation was similar differences in the gender, grade and major. Variable of college adjustment has shown similar differences in the gender, grade, major, satisfaction of major, health status and agony. Suicide ideation, however, revealed differences in gender, grade, health status and agony. Second, family-of-origin health was positively correlated with emotional divorce in the sub factor of self-differentiation and college adjustment. But it was negatively correlated with suicide ideation. Self-differentiation was positively correlated with college adjustment. Suicide ideation was negatively correlated with self differentiation and college adjustment. Third, emotional divorce in the sub factor of self-differentiation had great effect on suicidal ideation analysis resulted of influence of variables related suicide ideation. Fourth, college adjustment had mediator effect in the process that family-of-origin health and self-differentiation influenced suicide ideation. In conclusion, it is important to reduce university students' suicide ideation through prevention plan and program.
