Social TV Viewing : The Effect of Virtual Co-Viewers and the Role of Social Presence

Watching TV while communicating with other TV viewers via social media about the TV program is increasingly becoming popular. Called social TV viewing, this new TV viewing allows social interactions with virtual co-viewers, who are physically away but virtually together. The purpose of the study is to unfold how and why social aspects of social TV viewing affect enjoyment. Data were collected using an online survey from 330 social TV viewers. Primary findings suggest that social TV viewers’ perceived similarity (homophily) of virtual co-viewers positively affect a feeling of social presence, which in turn increases enjoyment.

상해 임시정부의 安昌浩 지지 세력에 대한 재고찰

In September, 1919, Shanghai provisional government was united with Hanseong government of Joseon and Korean National Assembly in Russia. A united government was established. 3 powers participated in the united government. They were Lee Seungman power, Lee Donghwi power, and Ahn Changho power. Among them, Ahn Chang-ho is described as an axis of conflict in data and research on the provisional government. Most of his followers were born in the northwestern part of the Korean peninsula. However, their characteristic was that they were young generations in their 20s and 30s. This article looked at how young people in their 20s worked in the Provisional Government. They provided administrative support or published newspapers in the Provisional Government. Based on the situation, young people began to gather around the Heungsadan Wondong Commission. Ahn Changho considered that making one person an intellectual was to furthermore upgrade the level of the whole nation. His insistence was enough to gather young generation and young people could become the subject of independence movement. 1919년 말 중국 상해에서 한성정부를 중심으로 노령의 대한국민의회와 상해임시정부가 통합되었다. 통합 임시정부에는 李承晩 중심의 기호 세력, 安昌浩 중심의 서북 세력, 李東輝 중심의 한인사회당 세력이 참여하고 있었다. 그중 안창호중심의 서북 세력은 임시정부에 관한 자료와 연구에서 지역적 파벌 또는 독립운동노선의 갈등의 한 축으로 설명되고 있다. 안창호를 지지했던 자들이 대부분 평안도등 한반도의 서북 지역 출신이 다수를 점하고 있었기 때문이다. 그런데 상해에서 안창호를 지지했던 자들이 지닌 특징은 서북이라는 출신 지역외에 20~30대의 청년층이라는 또 다른 특징이 있었다. 이들을 다시 세분하면 이광수, 주요한을 중심으로 한 20대 초중반의 청년층과 선우혁, 이유필, 조상섭 중심의30대 후반의 청년층으로 나눌 수 있다. 이 글에서는 전자의 경우에 중점을 두고 안창호 세력 내 20대 청년층의 결집과활동을 살펴보았다. 이들은 1919년 7월 결성된 임시사료편찬위원회의 구성원이된 것을 계기로 임시정부의 비서, 서기, 참사원 등 실무진으로 활동하거나 ≪독립신문≫의 간행과 운영의 행정적 지원을 맡았다. 뿐만 아니라 1920년 흥사단 원동위원부를 창립되자 이광수를 필두로 20대의 청년층은 흥사단에 입단하여 당시 안창호가 주창했던 실력양성론을 점진적으로 실현하는 주체가 되었다

노년층의 디지털 역량을 고려한 UI/UX 디자인 및 기술 개발

최근 디지털화가 급속히 진행되면서, 디지털 취약계층인 노 년층에게 정보 격차가 발생하고, 이로 인해 디지털 소외 문제 가 심화되고 있어 심각한 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 본 고에서 는 노년층이 디지털 시대에 적응하기 힘든 원인과 현재의 실 태에 대해 설명하고, 이들을 위한 디지털 교육과 디자인 및 기 술 개발의 중요성에 대해 제안한다. 특히 디지털 기기 사용 방 법을 교육한다고 하더라도 고령자가 노화로 인해 잘 잊어버리 고, 복잡한 기기 사용을 어려워하는 점을 근거로, 디자인과 기 술 개발 초기부터 사용하기 쉽게 개발하는 것의 중요성에 대 해 설명한다.

인종주의의 장벽 아래에서 결혼하기: 해방 이후 주한미군 내 한국계 미국인 남성과 한인 여성의 결혼

This study examines that Korean American male soldiers of USAFIK were married to Korean Women in 1948 because of racial barriers. This study delivers the analysis of the case study of these marriages. The grooms, Korean American male soldiers of USAFIK, didn't try to break down the barrier. But they chose the marriage with the women in the same ethnic group as the alternative when they are in the service of enlistment. The brides, Korean women who were married to Korean Americans, leave their own country for new lives. After getting married, They emigrated to the United States. They were foreign residents because they had no citizenship. In 1952, at least legally, the walls of racism fell. These women acquired citizenship and were no longer foreigners. And they became a citizen of a national country called the United States. The cases of these marriages show the impact of racism in the United States on individual lives. They did not try to overcome or overcome racial barriers. Racism is internalized in their mind and life. 그동안 1945~1948년 미군정기의 결혼 양상은 이후 미군과 한인 여성 간 결혼의 초기 형태임에도 불구하고 제대로 다루어지지 않았다. 이 글에서는 1947년 전쟁신부법 개정 직후 1948~1949년에 생산된 혼인보고서 등 53건의 주한미군의 결혼 관련 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과 이 시기 주한미군 내 한국계 미국인들만이 한인 여성과 결혼하고자 했음을 알 수 있었다. 미군정기 국제결혼은 사실상 ‘동일 종족의 결혼’ 형태였던 것이다. 반아시아적 편견의 만연, 짐 크로우 체제와 같은 법적, 문화적 장애로 결혼 상대를 찾기 힘들어진 한국계 미국인들은 주한미군으로서 한국에 주둔하는 기간 동안 한인 여성과 만나 결혼하였다. 그러나 이 결혼은 한인 여성의 미국으로의 입국을 가능하게 했지만, 이주 이후 국민국가의 시민으로 인정받기까지는 1952년 이민법의 개정까지 상당한 시간이 걸렸다. 한국계 미국인과 한인 여성의 결혼은 미국의 인종주의가 한 개인의 삶에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 여실히 보여준다. 이들은 인종주의의 장벽을 극복하거나 넘으려 하지 않았다. 인종주의는 동일 종족의 결혼 양상을 만들어낼 정도로 내재화되어 있었던 것이다.

Digestibility and Physicochemical Properties of Granular Sweet Potato Starch as Affected by Annealing

The effects of annealing on the digestibility,morphology, and physicochemical characteristics of fourtypes of granular sweet potato starches [Yulmi (YM),Yeonwhangmi (YHM), sweet potato starch from SamyangGenex (SSPS), and commercial sweet potato starch(CSPS)] were investigated. Annealing was performed at55°C and 90% moisture content for 72 h. Morphology, thebranched chain distribution of amylopectin, and the X-raydiffraction pattern remained unchanged during the annealingprocess. The slowly digestible starch content in annealedYM, YHM, and SSPS starches increased, but did notchange in annealed CSPS. The gelatinization temperaturesincreased, but the gelatinization temperature range decreasedwith annealing. The swelling factor and amylose leachingdecreased, while the close packing concentration increased. Rapid Visco Analyser analysis revealed that annealedstarches possessed thermal stability and higher pastingtemperatures. It is suggested that the enhanced packingarrangement formed during annealing impacts the digestibilityand physicochemical properties of sweet potato starches.

Gamma-Irradiated Chrysin Improves Anticancer Activity in HT-29 Colon Cancer Cells Through Mitochondria-Related Pathway

Irradiation technology can improve the biological activities of natural molecules through a structural modification. This study was conducted to investigate the enhancement of the anticancer effects of chrysin upon exposure to gamma irradiation. Gamma irradiation induces the production of new radiolytic peaks simultaneously with the decrease of the chrysin peak, which increases the cytotoxicity in HT-29 human colon cancer cells. An isolated chrysin derivative (CM1) exhibited a stronger apoptotic effect in HT-29 cells than intact chrysin. The apoptotic characteristics induced by CM1 in HT-29 cells was mediated through the intrinsic signaling pathway, including the excessive production of included reactive oxygen species, the dissipation of the mitochondrial membrane potential, regulation of the B cell lymphoma-2 family, activation of caspase-9, 3, and cleavage of poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase. Our findings suggest that CM1 can be a potential anticancer candidate for the treatment of colon cancer.

바다 송사리 Oryzias dancena의 난발생 및 자치어의 형태 발달

The egg development and morphological changes of larvae, juveniles and adults of Oryzias dancena were observed. Fertilized eggs were incubated at 25±1℃; the process of embryonic development was observed by light microscopy and based on diagnostic features of the developing embryos. The average time to hatch was 11 days after fertilization. The hatched larvae averaged 4.40±0.24 mm in total length (TL). The yolk sacs of the larvae were almost absorbed at 3 days after hatching and 4.55±0.23 mm TL. At 21 days after hatching, the larvae were 7.23±0.73 mm TL and had reached the juvenile stage. First ovulation was about 9 weeks after hatching and at 22.58±2.73 mm TL. Oryzias dancena의 난발생 과정과 자치어의 형태발달에관하여 관찰하였다. 수온 25±1℃에서 수정란은 수정 후 1시간이 경과하면 배반이 형성되었다가 30분의 간격으로 4세포기까지 난할이 이루어졌다. 이후로 발생의 속도가 느려져 수정 후, 7시간 45분이 경과된 후 포배기에 이르렀다. 수정 후 5시간 30분 후에 상실기에 도달하였으며, 포배기는수정 후 7시간 45분 후에 이루어졌다. 수정 후 11시간 30분이 경과된 후 낭배기에 이르렀고, 수정 후 1일 6시간 후,신경배를 형성하였다. 심장 박동이 시작되는 시기는 수정후 2일 4시간째에 이루어졌으며, 수정 후 6일 12시간째 장기에 혈관이 형성되었다. 수정 후 11일째에 부화하였고, 부화 직후 자어는 전장이 4.40±0.24mm였으며, 부화 3일 후에 난황이 완전히 흡수되어 후기 자어기로 이행하였다. 부화 후 21일째에 각 지느러미 기조가 완전하게 형성되어 치어기로 이행하였으며, 이 때 전장은 8.67±0.87mm였다. 최초 산란이 이루어지는 시기는 부화 후 9주째로 전장은22.58±2.73mm였다.

비선형 내러티브 게임에서의 사용자 몰입도 향상 디자인 연구: 문제 및 해결방안을 중심으로

본 논문의 목적은 비선형 내러티브 게임에서 사용자의 몰입도를 높이기 위해 필요한 요소를 찾는 것이다. 기존의 비선형 내러티브 게임을 대상으로 사례를 분석하여 선택과 스토리 플로우 차트가 사용자 몰입도에 있어 필요한 요소임을 파악했다. 이 요소들을 검증하기 위해 비선형 내러티브 게임을 제작하여 워킹 프로토타입 형태의 사용자 테스트를 진행하여 사용자들의 몰입도 변화를 분석했다. 이 테스트를 통해 선택은 사용자의 몰입에 중요한 요소이며 스토리 플로우 차트는 부수적인 요소임을 확인했다. 이 논문을 통해 선택과 스토리 플로우 차트가 비선형 내러티브 게임에서 사용자의 몰입도 향상에 도움이 되는 요소임을 설명해보고자 한다. This study identifies the elements necessary to increase user immersion in nonlinear narrative games. Analysis of cases for existing nonlinear narrative games revealed that selection and story flow charts are necessary factors for user immersion. To verify these factors, we produced a nonlinear narrative game and a user test in the form of a working prototype was conducted to analyze the change in user immersion. We confirmed that selection is an important factor in the user's immersion and that the story flow chart is an incidental factor. This study argues that selection and story flow charts are factors that help improve user immersion in nonlinear narrative games.

Growth Performance of Transgenic Mud Loach Misgurnus mizolepis Carrying a GH Transgene Driven by Mud Loach C-Type Lectin Regulator

Growth hormone (GH) transgenesis in fish has the potential to improve aquaculture efficiency and capacity. However, many fast-growing transgenic fish have experienced side effects caused by excess GH expression. To overcome this unwanted issue associated with several GH transgenic mud loach Misgurnus mizolepis lines carrying GH construct driven by a strong β-actin regulator (pmlβ-actGH), we performed an alternative version of GH autotransgenesis using a weaker but more stable regulator, the mud loach lectin promoter. GH transgenesis with a pmlectGH construct consisting of the mud loach GH gene driven by the 2.3-kb lectin promoter exhibited significant growth stimulation. However, the extent of the growth acceleration in pmlectGH transgenics (six times maximum when assessed 2 months post hatching) was much less than that in transgenic individuals carrying the pmlβ-actGH construct. Additionally, the extraordinary gigantism that was common in pmlβ-actGH-transgenic mud loaches was diminished in transgenic loaches harboring the pmlectGH construct. Transgenic founders (pmlectGH) successfully transmitted their transgene into the next generation with up to 41% frequency. Growth stimulation also persisted in the transgenic F1 strains, with a seven-fold increase in maximum body weight at 6 months of age.
