        宋鎭彦 中央醫學社 1967 中央醫學 Vol.13 No.6

A geographic and morphologic investigation of normal carotid angiograms of 80 Korean adults was made and the results were as follows: A) In the lateral view of the normal carotid angiograms. 1) The bifurcation levels of common carotid arteries were: 67.91 at the 3rd cervical vertebra, 25.0 % at the 4th cervical vertebra, 5.3% at the 2nd cervical vertebra and 1. 8 % at the 5th cervical vertebra. 2) The morphological configurations of the carotid siphons were: 10.0 % simple S type 68.7%, double S type 21.3% and transitional type. 3) The visualization of the posterior communicating arteries and anterior choroidal arteries were encountered in 17.1% and 94.3 %, respectively. 4) The nonvisualization of the anterior cerebral arteries, pericallosal arteries and callosomarginal arteries were encountered in 6.2% of the cases. The early bifurcation of the anterior cerebral arteries were encountered in 11.3 % of the cases. 5) The distances from the bifurcation of the internal carotid arteries to the anterior clinoid ranged from 4mm to 15mm with mean distances of 8. 5mm in the left side and 8.4mm in the right side. 6) The distances from the anterior cerebral arteries at the rostrum of the corpus callosum to the floor of the anterior fossa ranged from 12mm to 28mm with mean distances of 19. 3mm in the left side and 18.6mm in the right side. 7) The distances from the anterior cerebral arteries in the lower margin of the genu of the corpus callosum to the floor of the anterior fossa ranged from 11mm to 26mm with mean distances of 18.9mm in the left side and 19.3mm in the right side. 8) The disc aces from the anterior- cerebral arteries at the anterior margin of the genu of the corpus callosum to the inner table of the frontal bone ranged from 24mm to 47mm with mean distances of 36.8mm in the left side and 36.Omm in the right side. 9) The distances from the ascending vertical portion of the callosomarginal arteries to the inner table of the frontal bone ranged from 20mm to 38mm with mean distances of 27.7 mm in the left side and 28. 5mm in the right side. 10) The distances from the callosomarginal arteries to the bregma on the clinobregma line ranged from 20mm to 40mm with mean distances of 31.0mm in the left side and 28.7mm in the right side. . 11) The distances from the pericallosal arteries to the bregma on the clinobregma line ranged from 36mm to 52mm with mean distances of 43. 8mm in the left side and 44. 1mm in the right side. 12) The numbers of the ascending brances of the middle cerebral arteries in the insula were: 4 in 18.5%, 5 in 68.5% and 6 in 13%. 13) In the sylvian triangle, the average degrees of the anterior superior angles were 77. 50 degrees in the left side and 79. 62 degrees in the right side. The posterior superior angles were 30. 84 degrees in the left side and 27. 79 degrees in the right side. The inferior angles were 71. 80 degrees in the left side and 70. 88 degrees in the right side. 14) The knees of the middle cerebral arteries were located above the clinoparietal line, and the distances from the knee of the middle cerebral arteries to the clinoparietal line ranged from 0 to 17mm with mean distances of 3.7mm in the left side and 3.3mm in the right side. 15) The main branches of the middle cerebral arteries were located above the clinoparietal line except in 10 cases. The distances from the main branch of the middle cerebral arteries to the clinoparietal line ranged from 0 to 13mm with mean distances of 6.8mm in the left side and 5. 8mm in the right side. 16) The angiographic sylvian points of the middle cerebral arteries were located above and below the clinoparietal line ranging from 0 to 10mm. B) In the anteroposterior view of the normal carotid angiograms. 17) The distances from the medial margin of the cavernous portion of the internal carotid arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 3mm to 15mm with mean distances of 8.6mm in the left side and 9.lmm in the right side. 18) The distances from the posterior communicating arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 3mm to 13mm. 19) The distances from the cisternal portion of the anterior choroidal arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 5mm to 20mm with mean distances of 10.8mm in the left side and 11.8mm in the right side. 20) The distances from the bifurcation of the internal carotid arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 7mm to 21mm with mean distances of 13.2mm in the left side and 14.5mm in the right side. 21) The distances from the posterior cerebral arteries at the lateral margin of the cerebral peduncle to the mid sagittal line ranged from 18mm to 25mm. 22) The distances from the most medial artery of the lenticulostriate arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 22mm to 33mm with mean distances of 26.5mm in the left side and 27.Omm in the right side. 23) The distances from the most lateral arteries of the lenticulostriate arteries to the mid sagittal line ranged from 25mm to 40mm with mean distances of 33.4mm in the left side and 34.5mm in the right side. 24) The distances from the trifurcation of the middle cerebral arteries to the inner table of the temporal bone ranged from 20mm to 43mm with mean distances of 30.lmm in the left side and 30.0mm in the right side. 25) The distances from the most lateral portion of the middle cerebral arteries to the inner table of the skull ranged from 18mm to 33mm with mean distances of 24. 9mm in the left side and 26. 1mm in the right side. 26) The distances from the angiographic sylvian point of middle cerebral arteries to the inner table of the skull ranged from 21mm to 47mm with mean distances of 33.6mm in the left side and 36. 1mm in the right side. 27) The angiographic sylvian points of the middle cerebral arteries were always located below the mid point between the upper margin of the petrous Pyramid and a horizontal line drawn tangentiall to the inner table of the vertex of the skull.
