      • Streptomyces exfoliatus가 생성하는 mutanase에 의한 인공치태 억제 작용

        The main component of dental plaque is the mutan containing the α-1, 3 bond. The following results were obtained by using a blue mutan to assess the factors affecting the mutan-digesting activity of Streptomyces exfoliatus isolated from soil. A clear zone was produced by mutanase-producing Streptomyces exfoliatus on the minimal essential agar containing blue mutan. Streptomyces exfoliatus digested more blue mutan in the minimal essential broth at pH 7.0 than at pH 5.5 or 8.5. Streptomyces exfoliatus digested more blue mutan at 37℃ than at 32℃ or 42℃(P<0.05). When the concentration of CaCl_2 was increased in the minimal essential broth, the digestion of blue mutan was increased(P<0.05). The optimal concentration of KCl was 10mM to digest blue mutan, but a similar amount of blue mutan was digested at the range of 0.1mM to 6.4mM of MgCl_2. When the culture supernatant of Streptomyces exfoliatus was mixed with 2X brain heart infusion broth containing 0.5% yeast extract and 10% sucrose, less artificial plaque was formed by Streptococcus mutans on the orthodontic wire(P<0.05). These results indicated that the secretion of mutanase was identified in culture supernatant of mutan-digesting Streptomyces exfoliatus, suppressing the formation of artificial plaque by Streptococcus mutans.

Streptomyces exfoliatus의 mutan 분해 능력에 영향을 미치는 인자에 대해 알아 보고자 blue mutan 을 이용한 실험을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. Blue mutan이 들어 있는 배지에서 Streptomyces exfoliatus에 의한 투명대를 봄으로써 mutanase 의 분비를 확인할 수 있었다. Blue mutan이 들어 있는 여러 종류의 배지 중에서 minimal essential agar 상에서 Streptomyces exfoliatus가 투명대를 형성하였다. Minimal essential broth의 pH가 7.0일 때 pH가 5.5나 8.5일 때보다 blue mutan이 잘 분해되었으며, 배양 온도가 $37^{\circ}C$ 때 $32^{\circ}C$나 $42^{\circ}C$ 때보다 잘 분해되었다 (P<0.05). Minimal essential broth 에서의 blue mutan의 분해는 $CaCl_2$ 농도가 증가할 수록 (P<0.05), KCl 농도가 10mM일 때 증가하였으나, $MgCl_2$ 농도는 0.1mM에서 6.4mM의 범위에서 비슷하였다. Streptomyces exfoliatus 배양 상청액을 0.5% yeast extract와 10% sucrose를 첨가한 2배의 BHI broth에 가한 경우 교정용 wire상에서의 Streptococcus mutans에 의한 인공치태 형성이 유의성있게 억제되었다(P<0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합하면 Streptomyces exfoliatus에서 생성되는 배양 상청액내의 mutanase 가 인공치태 형성에 억제 작용이 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

      • 융액인상법에 의한 $Cr^{4+}$:YAG 단결정 성장 연구

        융액인상법에 의하여 Garnet 구조내 결정학적 8면체 및 4면체의 양이온 자리에 전하 보상이온 Mg2+, 구조 수식이온 Sc3+ 및 laser 활성이온 Cr4+을 다양한 농도로 주입한 융액으로부터 Cr4+:YAG 단결정을 성장하고, 주입된 불순이온이 흡수계수에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다. 양질의 단결정을 성장하기 위한 인상속도와 회전속도는 각각 1.5 mm/h와 10 rmp이었으며, Cr4+:YAG 단결정은 <111> 방위로 성장하였다. 성장된 결정의 결정구조 동정 및 결정격자 상수를 측정하고, 1.064 ㎛에서의 결정화분율에 따른 흡수계수, 형광방출 스펙트럼, 유효편석계수(keff)를 보고하였다.

        韓國人 乳齒列期 兒童의 齒穹크기 및 形態變化에 關한 硏究

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes of dental arch dimension and shape during the deciduous dentition period. Dental arch dimension was divided nto 3 categories; width, length and circumference. Arch index was taken to analyze the changes of dental arch shape. 1105 stone models of maxillary and mandibular arches obtained from the children from 3 to 6 years of age were measured. The results were as follows; 1. Arch width; The widths of dental arches were increased with age both in males and in females. 2. Arch length; Total arch lengths were decreased with age. It was due to decrease of anterior arch lengths because there were no notable changes in posterior arch lengths. The arches of males were longer than those of females in upper arches at total arch length and posterior arch length, but no notable sex differences were seen in lower arches. 3. Arch circumference: Upper and lower anterior circumferences in males, lower anterior and total arch circumferences in females were increased with age. Total arch circumferences of males were longer than those of females in upper arches, but no notable sex differences were seen in lower arches. Upper arches were definitely longer than lower arches. 4. Arch index: Total arch index (WEE/L); Total arch forms were seen to become relatively broad between 3 and 6 years of age both in males and in females. Upper arches were broader than lower arches. Anterior arch index (LAC/WCC); Anterior arch forms were seen to become relatively flat between 3 and 6 years both in males and in females. Lower arches were flatter than upper arches. Posterior arch index (WCC/WEE); Forms of posterior sections were seen to become more devergent in both arches. Arch length index (LAC/LCE); Arch length ratios were seen to become decreased in upper and lower arches. They were higher in upper arches than in lower arches. 5. There were no notable arch index differences between males and females.

      • Captafol (C_10H_9Cl_4NO_2S) 의 결정 및 분자구조

        The crystal structure of Captafol, (N-(1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethylthio)cyclohex-4-ene-1,2-dicaboximide,C10H9Cl4NO2S) has been determined using X-ray diffraction method. Crystal system is Monoclinic (a =10.554(9) A, b = 6.636(2)A, c = 19.390(4)A, β = 91.81(1)° , V = 1357.3(5)A3), space group (P21/c, Z=4). The molecular structure was solved by direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares. The final reliable factor, R, is 0.0582 for 2644 independent reflections (I > 2σ (I)).
