This paper presents an investigation of the energy performance in an office building in Daejeon, Korea The office building has a south-facing glazed double-envelope and a rectangular atrium. During the preliminary design of the building, a study was conducted by the research team in order to achieve the annual energy consumption per unit area of the building under 240 Mcal/m2-yr. A number of building designs and HVAC system variables were analyzed in terms of energy performance. Finally, the energy performance of the building was evaluated by comparing with a typical office building. The case office building shows an annual energy consumption of 209.6 Mcal/m2-yr, which is much less than the target value. It also shows the annual energy consumption of the case office building is less than the typical office building of same size in Korea.

A skin thermometer is widely used to elucidate the relationship between the physiological response and the surrounding environment. The purpose of this work was to develop a precise skin thermometer with accuracy of ±0.1oC considering to ISO 9886 and ISO 7933. Characteristics of sensors such as RTD pt-100 Ohm, NTC thermistor, Thermocouple and Integrated Silicon Sensor were compared for sensitivity, stability and the availability of an operating amplifier. Finally a 10k-Ohm NTC thermistor was adapted. A ±0.1% resistor was used to evaluate the accuracy of the operating amplifier, and a copper annular with a 50mm-diameter was used to evaluate the characteristics of the thermometer. The accuracy of the thermometer was to be ±0.08oC. The skin thermometer developed in this work was utilized to measure skin temperature for thermo-physiological responses.
도시의 보행도로 주변 특성에 따른 여름철 미세기후 변화

This study elucidated the difference of microclimate between the tree-covered road and the building-surroundedroad. Dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature, relative humidity, globe temperature, air velocity, illuminancelevel, irradiance of UVA and UVB were investigated and compared the difference between two roads. The results ofinvestigation revealed that the dry buld temperature was 33.0oC in tree-covered road and 34.8oC in building surroundedroad. The differences between two roads were 0.9oC in wet bulb temperature, 4.0oC in globe temperature, 0.2m/s inair velocity, 33,228 Lux in illuminance level, and 9260 mW/m2 in UVA and 363 mW/m2 in UVB irradiance, respectively. It is obvious that urban greening mitigates hot microclimate in urban area.
