체험적 포토북의 실험적 북디자인 연구 : New York, To Seoul, To Where? 작품 연구를 중심으로

본 연구는 연구자의 포토북에 대한 관심을 기반으로 연구자의 작품을 ‘체험적 포토북’이라고 새롭게 정의하며, 다양한 내러티브와 그에 맞는 북디자인 형식을 실험하고 적용해 제작하는 과정에 대한 논문이다. 포토북의 개념은 아직까지 그 의미의 범위가 모호하며 광범위하나, 2010년 이후 사진 이론가들은 포토북을 ‘도록이나 자료집과는 달리 주제와 이야기에 따른 디자인 요소가 어우러진 예술작품’으로 재정의하였다. 국제적으로 주최된 다수의 포토북 어워드를 살펴보면, 실험적인 내러티브와 만듦새를 통해 독창적인 결과물과 그 우수성을 발견할 수 있다. 이런 우수성은 오래전부터 존재하였으나, 국내에서는 그 중요성이나 가치를 논하는 연구가 거의 존재하지 않는 상황이다. 따라서, 연구자는 기존의 포토북의 모호한 개념이나 다소 획일화된 포토북의 만듦새와 차별화되는 포토북들에 대한 새로운 정의가 필요하다고 판단하였다. 감상자의 직간접적인 참여나 행위로 전시를 경험하는 ‘체험형 전시’에서 그 의미를 차용하여, ‘체험적 포토북’이라는 용어를 사용하였다. ‘체험적 포토북’은 실험적인 내러티브와 만듦새의 요소를 갖추며, 감상자가 포토북을 적극적으로 경험할 수 있는 책이자 예술 매체이다. 선행 연구로는 다섯 권의 포토북을 작품 컨셉 및 내러티브와 만듦새인 두 가지 기준으로 분석하였다. 이 내러티브들은 이론적으로 푼크툼의 개념을 포함한다. 공통된 주제는 일상과 우연이며, 자전 요소를 갖춘다. 만듦새 또한 기존 사진집들과는 다른 실험성이 있다. 작품 연구의 과정으로, 자전적이며 일상적인 내러티브를 표현하는 아티스트들의 내러티브 리서치를 진행하였다. 이 리서치를 기반으로, 연구자가 찍은 사진들을 재조합, 변형하여 재분류하였다. 연구자가 뉴욕과 서울 등을 오가며 장소 이동이 있을 때마다 환경적·심리적 변화가 있었던 중요한 순간 세가지를 선정하여, 총 세 가지 이야기를 만들었다. 만듦새의 실험을 위하여, 책의 개념과 본질을 해체함과 동시에 확장을 시도하였다. 컨텐츠를 담아내는 수동적인 매체가 아닌, 책 자체가 의미를 가지며 적극적이고 능동적인 매체로써 탐구해 보았다. 북디자인 요소를 탐구하고 본질적인 개념들에 의구심을 가지며, 숨겨진 책, 기-승-전-결이 없는 책, 제본을 탈피한 해체적인 책 등을 실험하였다. 최종 디자인 연구로는 세 가지 내러티브를 가지고 ‘체험적’인 요소를 극대화할 수 있는 실험형식의 북디자인으로 책 3권을 제작하였다. 3권의 시리즈인 <New York>, <To Seoul>, <To Where?> 로 연결되는 이야기를 표현하기 위하여 숨겨진 책, 해체된 책, 이어지는 책이라는 만듦새의 컨셉으로 각 이야기에 맞는 제본방식과 판형 등을 적용하였다. 내러티브를 적극적으로 기획하고 사진을 변형하였다는 점에서 기존의 작업들과 차별성이 있다. 연구자가 제안한 ‘체험적 포토북’은, 나만의 이야기를 스스로 만들고 책을 제작하여 출판할 수 있다는 점에서 포토북이 소수의 작가들을 위한 작품집이 아닌 독립출판 장르의 하나로 기능할 수 있다고 생각한다. 누군가를 위하여 찍는 사진이 아닌 스스로를 치유하고 사색하기 위한 방법으로서의 사진과, 스스로 이야기를 주체적으로 만들어 낼 수 있는 포토북의 변화무쌍한 가능성은 이제 막 개척하기 시작한 미지의 영역이다. 본 연구를 통하여 연구자는 앞으로도 ‘체험적 포토북’의 다양한 가능성을 탐구하며, 끊임없는 이야기를 만들어 내고자 한다. Based on the researcher's interest in the photo book, this study newly defines the researcher's work as an "experiential photo book" and deals with the process of experimenting and applying various narratives and book design formats suitable for them. Although the meaning of the concept of photo books is still ambiguous and too broad, since 2010, photo theorists have redefined photo books as "artworks that combine design elements according to themes and stories, unlike exhibition catalogues or reports". Experimental narratives and book designs at several internationally hosted photo book awards allow you to discover original works and their excellence. This excellence has existed for a long time, but there are few studies discussing its importance or value in Korea. Thus, the researcher decided that a new definition of photo books was required to differentiate them from the conceptual ambiguity of existing photo books or the uniformed design of photo books. The term "experiential photo book" was used by borrowing its meaning from the "experiential exhibition" where visitors experience the exhibition through direct or indirect participation or actions. “Experiential photo book” is a book and art medium that has experimental narratives and elements of book design, and this newly defined photo book allows viewers to actively engage and maximize their reading experience. As a prior research, five photobooks made by the researcher were analyzed based on two criteria: narrative and book design. These narratives theoretically include the concept of Punctum. Common themes are daily life and coincidence, and they also contain autobiographical elements. The design has experimental characteristics different from those of existing photo collections. Narrative research was proceeded on artists who expressed autobiographical and daily narratives, as a process of final design study. Grounded upon this research, photos taken by the researcher were recombined, transformed, and reclassified. The researcher made a total of three stories by selecting three important moments of environmental and psychological changes whenever there was a place movement between New York and Seoul. For the experiment of book design, the concept and essence of the book were deconstructed and expanded at the same time. The researcher redefined book not as a passive medium that contains contents, but as a positive and active medium that the book itself has meaning, and explored the elements of book design, questioned essential concepts, experimented with hidden books, books with nonlinear narratives, and deconstructive books that have separate cover and pages. As the final design study, three books were made in an experimental form of book design which can maximize 'experiential' elements with three narratives. To express the three series of stories, from "New York", "To Seoul", to "To Where?" Binding methods and formats, and single tone printing suitable for each story were applied as concepts of design such as the 'hidden book', 'deconstructed book', and 'continuous book'. These types of studies differentiate from researcher’s past works because the researcher actively planned narratives and transformed original photographs. The "experiential photo book" proposed by researcher can function as one of the genres of independent publishing in that they can create their own stories, produce, and publish books, not a collection of works of specific types of artists or photographers. Photography as therapy and meditation for oneself, not taken for someone else, and the ever-changing possibility of a photo book that can subjectively create a story on its own are unknown areas that have just begun to be pioneered. Through this study, the researcher will continue to explore various possibilities of the 'experiential photo book' and create endless stories.

최근 10년간 청년층의 성별 임금격차 변화과정 분석

This study estimated the wage function of male and female wage workers aged 20 to 35 using the original data of the 2010~2019.08 Economically Active Population Survey Additional Survey by Work Type, and analyzed the gender wage gap using Oaxaca Blinder's wage decomposition method. As a result of the Oaxaca Blinder wage decomposition, it was confirmed that the difference in attributes and price effects between men and women was found, and the portion due to the price effect occupied more. When comparing the total age and young people aged 20 to 35, there is no difference due to the price effect, so it is inferred that the gender wage gap in Korea widens with participation and career in the labor market. The "resultant difference (promotion, career disconnection, etc) of the labor market system was confirmed through Oaxaca Blinder, and women appear to widen the wage gap with men due to marriage, education, business size, non-regular workers, jobs, and industry. 본 연구는 통계청의 ⌜2010.08∼2019.08 경제활동인구조사 근로 형태별 부가조사⌟의 10년 동안의 원자료를 활용하여 20세∼35세 청년층의 남녀 임금근로자의 임금 함수를 추정하고 Oaxaca Blinder의 임금 분해 방법을 이용하여 성별 임금격차 요인을 분석하였다. Oaxaca Blinder 임금 분해를 통해 본 결과 남녀의 속성차이와 가격 효과로 인한 차이가 확인되었으며, 이중 가격효과로 인한 비중이 더 높은 것을 확인하였다. 전체연령과 20세에서 35세 청년층을 비교하여 보았을때 가격효과로 인한 차이가 나타나고 있지 않다는 점에서 우리나라 성별 임금격차는 노동시장의 참여 및 경력과 함께 심화하는 것으로 추론된다. 노동시장 제도의 ‘결과로 나타나는 차이(승진, 경력단절 등)’가 Oaxaca Blinder를 통해 확인되었으며, 여성은 노동시장 활동을 이어가는 과정에서 결혼, 학력, 사업체 규모, 비정규직 여부, 직업, 산업 등으로 인해 남성과의 임금격차가 벌어지게 되는 것으로 보이며, 임금차별 개선을 위해서는 전공선택에서부터 채용 등 노동시장 전반의 전통적 성차별 고용 관행의 해소가 필요할 것이다.

金三宜堂의 시세계 연구

본고는 조선후기 향촌 사족 여성이었던 김삼의당(1769~1823)의 한시세계에 드러난 문학적 특성을 고찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 조선후기의 여류 한시 문학사에서 김삼의당의 한시 문학이 가지는 문학사적 의의를 구명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 문학이 작가의 삶과 세계관을 반영한다는 전제를 바탕으로 삼의당의 한시 작품에서 기존의 전아한 한시 본연의 정감과 구별되는 독특한 개성을 발견해 낼 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 따라서 본고에서는 삼의당의 시문학이 서민문학의 장을 열었다는 기존의 논의를 바탕으로 하여, 그러한 서민적인 성격이 삼의당의 시작품에 어떠한 양상으로 실현되고 있는지 구체적으로 살펴보고 그 문학사적 의의를 고찰해 보고자 한다. 2장에서는 삼의당의 삶과 시관에 대하여 살펴보았다. 삼의당은 사대부가의 여성이었지만 서민적 생활을 하였다. 또한 민요의 정신인'진정'을 시작의 근저로 삼고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 3장에서는 삼의당의 시문학을 시작의 근간이 되는 정신을 바탕으로 크게 규범적 삶에의 의지, 여성적 정감의 표현, 향토적 정감의 표출로 분류하고, 그녀의 시세계가 삶의 변화와 밀착하여 어떠한 특징을 드러내고 있는지 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 삼의당의 시세계에는 그녀 자신의 생애와 밀착된 생활 정감의 변화가 고스란히 반영되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 4장에서는 삼의당 시문학의 표현상 특성과 문학사적 의의에 대해 살펴보았다. 삼의당의 한시는 표현 면에서 한시 본연의 구성원리를 이탈하고 있다. 이는 조선후기에 대두하는 조선풍, 조선시의 한 일환인 민요풍이 시와도 같은 맥락으로 이해되어 질 수 있을 것이다. 또한 생활의 정감을 수용하고, 그 표현 면에서 본연의 규ㅜ성원리를 이탈하고 있다는 점에서 기존의 여류 시인들과는 다른 삼의당 한시 고유의 개성을 찾을 수 있었다. 한시 본래의 전형성을 벗어난 삼의당 한시의 서민적 취향은 문학사적 측면에서 보면 기존 한시의 범위를 넓히고, 나아가 한시를 민족 공통 문학 차원으로 끌어올리는데 기여하고 있다는 점에 그 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 김삼의당은 신분상 문예영역에서 이중적으로 소외되어야만 했던 향촌의 사족, 여성이었지만, 문예사적 측면에서 바라보면 그녀의 한시문학은 조선 후기 새로운 태동의 중심에 속해 있음을 알 수 있다.
