        Flexible Energy-storage Devices: Maneuvers and Intermediate Towards Multi-functional Composites

        Flexible energy-storage devices (FESDs) have been studied and developed extensively over the last few years because of demands in various fields. Since electrochemical performance and mechanical flexibility must be taken into account together, different framework from composition of conventional energy-storage devices (ESDs) is required. Numerous types of electrodes have been proposed to implement the FESDs. Herein, we review the works related to the FESDs so far and focus on free-standing electrodes and, especially substrate-based ones. The way to utilize carbon woven fabric (CF) or carbon cloth (CC) as flexible substrates is quite simple and intuitive. However, it is meaningful in the point of that the framework exploiting CF or CC can be extended to other applications resulting in multifunctional composites. Therefore, summary, which is on utilization of carbon-based material and conductive substrate containing CF and CC for ESDs, turns out to be helpful for other researchers to have crude concepts to get into energy-storage multi-functional composite. Moreover, polymer electrolytes are briefly explored as well because safety is one of the most important issues in FESDs and the electrolyte part mainly includes difficult obstacles to overcome. Lastly, we suggest some points that need to be further improved and studied for FESDs.

        ■ Objectives A case of a 44 years old Korean female with left side headache due to Transformed migraine is presented. ■ Methods He was treated with electroacupuncture around eyes and dry cupping on shoulder, moxibustion, acupuncture and herbal medicine, Chai Ling Tang. Then we evaluated the improvement by Pain area comparison and Numerical Rating Scale(NRS). ■ Results Headache was improved after the administration of Korean medical treatments. ■ Conclusion Korean medical treatment may be effective in treating headache due to Transformed migraine.

        2.4/5 GHz 무선 LAN 액세스 포민트용 이중 공진 판형 안테나 설계 및 구현

        본 논문에서는 2.4/5 GHz 이중 대역의 무선 LAN(Local Area Network) 액세스 포인트용으로 크기가 작고 가벼운 이중 공진 안테나를 제안한다. 무선 LAN용 안테나는 전방향성의 방사 패턴 특성을 보여야 한다. 먼저, 제안된 이중 공진 안테나는 전방향성의 방사 패턴을 얻기 위하여 중심에 직교 역삼각형 소자와 네 개의 공진 소자를 사방으로 위치시켰다. 또한, 중심에 직교 역삼각형 소자를 사용한 구조에서 제작이 용이하고 크기가 작은 안테나를 구성하기 위하여 중심 소자를 판형으로 변경하였다. 제안된 이중 공진 관형 안테나의 측정 결과 사용 주파수 대역에서 -12.8 dB 이하의 특성을 보였다. 이득 측정 결과 2.44 GHz에서 3.17 dBi, 5.77 GHz에서 5.38 dBi의 최대 이득을 나타내었으며 전방향성의 방사 패턴 특성을 보였다. 구현된 안테나는 무선 LAN의 액세스 포인트에 적용 가능한 성능을 나타내었다. In this paper, we present a small-sized and light weighted dual-band antenna for an access point of 2.4/5 GHz dual-band WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network). The antenna for WLAN should show the characteristic of omni-directional radiation pattern. First, to obtain the omni-directional radiation pattern the proposed dual-band antenna has an orthogonal inverted triangular type element at the center and locates four resonating elements symmetrically around it. Also, for the purpose of easy manufacturing and miniaturization of the antenna, we changed the central element which had the orthogonal inverted triangular type structure into the plate type. Measured $S_{11}$ for the proposed dual-band plate type antenna showed characteristic which was less then -12.8 dB for WLAN frequency bands. Measured results for the maximum gain showed 3.17 dBi at 2.44 GHz, 5.38 dBi at 5.77 GHz with omni-directional radiation pattern. The implemented antennas showed applicable performances for the access point of WLAN.

        ■ Objectives The purpose of this clinical study is to evaluate the effect of Korean Medical Treatment on a 71 years old Korean male with Intractable hiccup for 40 years after gastric perforation operation. ■ Methods He was treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine, Jakyakgamcho-tang and Banhasasim-tang. We evaluated the improvement by frequency of hiccup and NRS of hiccup. ■ Results Hiccup disappeared at sixth day of treatment and NRS of hiccup also decreased.. ■ Conclusion Korean medical treatment may be effective in treating intractable hiccup

        루프 형태의 접지판을 이용한 휴대폰의 SAR 감쇄에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we investigated SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) value variation by the position and size of the loop-type ground located in a test mobile handset. We carried out simulations on SAR value with loop-type grounds in rear case of a mobile handset, and obtained results showed that different positions and sizes of loop-type grounds had different SAR values. Among investigated positions and sizes of loop-type grounds, the small size case-C showed the best performance; i.e., it showed a decrease efficiency of 8.70 %. And in this case, it showed the highest induced electric-field distribution in the loop-type ground. In the simulation, the folding angle was set to $160^{\circ}$. 본 논문에서는 시험용 휴대폰의 내부에 위치한 루프 형태 접지판의 위치와 크기 변화에 따른 SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) 값의 변화를 검토하였다. 휴대폰의 rear case 안에 있는 루프 형태 접지판에 따른 SAR 값에 대한 전산 모의 실험을 수행하였으며 그 결과 루프 형태 접지판의 위치와 크기에 따라 SAR 값이 달라짐을 보였다. 검토된 루프 형태 접지판의 위치와 크기들 중 small size case-C의 경우가 8.70 %의 감소 효율을 보여 가장 좋은 성능을 보였다. 그리고 이 경우에 루프 형태 접지판에 가장 높은 유도 전계 분포를 보였다. 전산 모의 실험시 폴딩 각도는 $160^{\circ}$로 하였다.

        EMI 도료 패턴과 폴딩 각도에 따른 휴대폰의 SAR 변화에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서는 휴대폰 front case의 EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) 도료 패턴과 폴딩 각도 변화에 따른 SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) 값의 변화를 전산 모의 실험을 통하여 살펴보아 휴대폰 개발 초기 단계에서 SAR를 고려할 수 있도록 하였다. 첫 번째, front case에 칠해진 EMI 도료의 여러 가지 패턴을 모델링한 휴대폰에 적용하여 전산 모의 실험을 한 결과 EMI 도료 패턴에 따라 다른 SAR 값을 보였다. EMI 도료 패턴에 따른 SAR 값에 대한 전산 모의 실험 중 EMI 도료가 있을 경우를 기준으로 하였을 때, 헤어핀 패턴이 가장 좋은 $8.04\%$의 감소 효율을 보였고, EMI 도료가 없는 경우 $5.94\%$의 감소 효율을 보였다. 이때 폴딩 각도는 $150^{\circ}$로 하였다. 두 번째, 폴딩 각도를 $140^{\circ},\;150^{\circ},\;160^{\circ}$로 변화하면서 SAR 값에 대한 전산 모의 실험을 하였다. 전산 모의 실험에 사용된 모델의 경우 폴딩 각도를 늘릴수록 SAR 값이 감소함을 보였다. 폴딩 각도가 $160^{\circ}$이고 기준 패턴을 적용하였을 때 SAR 값은 1.61 W/kg이 되었으며, 제안한 헤어핀 패턴을 폴딩 각도가 $160^{\circ}$일 때 적용한 결과 가장 낮은 SAR 값인 1.45 W/kg의 값을 얻었다. In this paper, in order to consider SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) problem at the beginning stage of a handset development, we investigated the Shh value change by using simulation method according to various EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) paint patterns on front case of a handset and folding angles. First, we made some experiments with EMI paint pattern on front case of a handset, and obtained results showed that different patterns of EMI paint had different SAR values. Among the simulation results on SAR value according to EMI paint patterns, the hairpin pattern showed the best performance, i.e. the decrease efficiency of $8.04\%$ and completely removed pattern showed the decrease efficiency of $5.94\%$. Orignal pattern was set as the reference and the folding angle was $150^{\circ}$. Second, simulation was carried out with changing folding angle from $150^{\circ}$ to $140^{\circ}$ and $160^{\circ}$. Simulation results for the modeled handset showed that SAR value was decreased with increasing the folding angle. When the folding angle was $160^{\circ}$ and with original pattern, we got the SAR value of about 1,61 W/kg. When we applied hairpin pattern with the folding angle of $160^{\circ}$, we got the lowest SAR value of about 1.45 W/kg.

      • Development of electrodes for multifunctional battery based on carbon fabric

        Recently, as the development of electrical vehicles, unmmaned drones, and transportations using electricity are progressing, researches on not only improvement of performances but also size and efficiency are getting attention. In order to maximize the efficiency of such devices, a battery that functions as energy storage and structure at the same time is required. As to meet such requirements researches on multifunctional battery are highly encouraged thesedays. In this study, carbon fabirc is used for current colloector of both cathode and anode since it is well known to have good electric conductivity and mechanical property. Then, nickel-cobalt and vanadium oxide were grown directly onto carbon fabric by simple hydrothermal methode to complete the anode and cathode respectively. SEM, TEM, XPS, XRD were performed to see morphology and electrochemical properties were examined. Finally, tensile test was performed for mechanical property.
