미국 음악교사기준의 새로운 변화

The purpose of this was to investigate the changes of music teacher education in United States. The trends and characteristics of standards for music teacher education were identified though the analysis of standards of NBPTS, NCATE, INTASC, NASM, and three states(Michigan, Indiana and Illinois). The characteristics of music teacher standards in United States are appearance of new knowledge for professional development, expansion of practical experience in schools, reflective practices for teacher development, and application of systematic and practical evaluation. The results of this study suggests a desirable direction for the future development of music teacher education in Korea.

음악교육에서의 공감에 관한 고찰

본 연구는 공감의 구성요소와 공감능력의 측정방법을 살펴보고, 음악과 관련된 공감에 대한 선행연구와 프로그램 사례를 고찰한 후, 공감능력을 증진시킬 수 있는 음악지도방향과 음악활동에 대해 제언함으로써 향후 음악교육에서의 공감능력 연구를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 공감의 구성요소는 크게 인지적, 정서적, 의사소통적 요소로 나누어지고, 공감능력을 측정하는 방법으로 그림/이야기 방법, 질문지법, 생체학적인 방법이 많이 활용된다. 음악 관련 공감 연구는 인간의 공감능력에 영향을 미치는 음악의 효과에 대한 상관관계연구와 공감능력 향상을 위한 음악교육 프로그램 개발 연구로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 선행연구를 토대로 음악을 통한 공감교육에 대해 제언하였다.

음악교과 중심의 초등 교사 학습공동체 참여경험

This study aimed to explore the experiences of the elementary teacher learning community (hereinafter referred to as 'Baptudy') for the music subject, which is being conducted as teachers’research group outside the school through voluntary participation. Teachers who were interested in music subject examined how the learning community were conducted through practical and in-depth understanding and analyzed the interaction of experiences within the community. This study was conducted with 14 cultural elementary school teachers through ethnography research. As a result of the analysis, the teachers first experienced a learning community through acquiring and sharing practical knowledge through active participation in 'Baptudy'. Second, the teachers made continuous efforts through cooperation-implementation-reflection process to enhance teacher professional development required to teach music, which is of common concern. Third, the teachers in the community formed the identity and confidence as a teacher of teaching music in elementary school, and fourth, had a personal emotional connection and a sense of belonging. 본 연구는 자발적 참여로 학교 밖 교사연구회로 이루어지고 있는 음악교과에 관심을 둔 초등학교 교사학습공동체(이하 ‘밥터디’)의 경험을 탐색하였다. 음악교과에 관심을 둔 교사들의 모임이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는 지를 실제적이고 심층적인 이해를 통하여 살펴보고, 모임 내에서의 경험의 상호작용을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 초등학교 교사 14명을 대상으로 문화기술지 연구를 하였다. 이에 따른 분석 결과는 교사들은‘밥터디’에서 첫째, 적극적 참여로 살아있는 실천적 지식의 습득과 공유를 통한 학습동체 경험을 하였으며, 둘째, 공통적인 관심사인 음악을 가르치는 데 필요한 전문성 증진을 위한 협력-실행-반성과정을 통하여 지속적인 노력을 하였으며, 셋째, 자신이 음악을 가르치는 교사라는 정체성과 자신감을 형성하게 되었으며 넷째, 개인적으로 정서적 유대감과 소속감을 갖게 되었다.

국가 음악과 교육과정에 기초한 초·중등학교 음악예술프로그램 적용

In order to increase opportunities for students to enjoy the musical arts, it is necessary to develop musical arts programs that are based on students’ interests and the national (or provincial) curriculum, that can be systematically and effectively supported by teachers. In this regard, the purpose of this study was to develop those musical arts, carry out the programs in one elementary school and one middle school from October to December 2011, and analyze each implementation. For the analysis, lesson videos, students’ worksheets, in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and teaching artists, and lesson plans were collected. The conclusions and implications are as follows: 1) the role and meaning of musical arts programs based on national curriculum were more highlighted; 2) students could have great depth of aesthetic experience by the means of direct contact with professional musicians and concrete musical experience; 3) the role of music mediators and its importance was magnified; 4) there was a positive change in the musical preferences and attitudes of students with regard to the musical artsprograms. 본 연구는 학생들의 음악 예술 향수기회 확대를 위해 학생들의 흥미와 국가 교육과 정을 중심으로 하는 ‘현장성’, 교사들의 음악 교육을 효과적으로 지원할 수 있는 ‘체계성’, 그리고 음악 예술 전문가들과 학교 사이에 꾸준히 실행될 수 있는 ‘지속성’을 갖춘 음악예술프로그램을 2010년 10월부터 12월까지 초등학교와 중학교에 적용하고 그 결과를 분석하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 수업 동영상, 학생 활동지, 학생과 교사 심층인터뷰, 강사 인터뷰, 수업안 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 첫째, 국가 교육과정을 반영한 음악 예술프로그램의 역할과 의미가 더욱 확장되었다. 둘째, 음악가들과의 직접적인 만남과 구체적인 예술적 체험을 통하여 학생들은 이전과 비교될 수 없는 ‘깊이 있는 미적 경험’을 하게 되었다. 셋째, 음악메디에이터의 역할이 부각되었다. 넷째, 음악예술프로그램을 통하여 학생들에게 음악에 대한 삶의 변화가 있었다.

음악교육의 최근 연구동향을 통한 우리나라 음악교육연구의 새로운 접근

본 연구는 국외의 음악교육 연구동향을 조사ㆍ분석하여 연구동향을 살펴보고 이를 토대로 우리나라 음악교육연구의 과제와 전망을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 대상학술지는 Update, JRME, CRME, IJME를 선정하였으며, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구영역에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과 학술지들은 첫째, 연령층과 학교급별 따른 연구대상이 다양하고 골고루 분포되었으며, 둘째, 다양하고 체계적인 연구방법을 활용하였으며, 셋째, 연구영역이 다양해지고 구체적이고 상세화된 연구주제에 대한 연구를 하였다.

음악 교과 중심의 초등 STEAM 프로그램 개발

Many existing STEAM programs are difficult to utilize in the current school curricula. These programs are excessively weighted toward math and science; music is regarded only as an assistive role for teaching math and science. To solve these problems, this study developed a music-centered STEAM program for elementary school students. The ultimate goal of this program was to nurture students in STEAM literacy, artistic sensitivity, and creativity. A music-centered STEAM program was developed with the following strategies. The program enables music to make a spontaneous connection with other disciplines. The instructional approach encompasses thematic instruction, problem-based learning, and project learning. The program involves a process whereby students learn concepts and skills, make use of them, and enhance their comprehensive problem-solving abilities. In addition, it provides students with hands-on experiences through positive participation and rewards for the activities such as achievement happiness, emotional touch, and so on. Based on these development strategies, this program was developed using two themes, 'the secret of the shopping mall' and 'primitive times in music'. The program helped the students to study the concepts and skills of math and science, and to learn to apply those concepts and skills to music; they then came to understand the connections between musical activities and mathematical, scientific thinking. These musical experiences helped the students to make authentic, enhanced, and valid connections. Interdisciplinary communication and in-depth study enable and enhance success in STEAM education. We, as music educators, need to carry out theoretical and practical research (both of which contribute to STEAM education) more systematically and with a more active and open-minded attitude. 본 연구는 기존에 개발된 많은 STEAM 프로그램들이 영재를 대상으로 하고 있거나 공학적인 지식 및 기술을 필요로 하여 현행 교육과정 안에서 운영하기 어렵고, 지나치게 수학과 과학, 기술 교과에 치중하고 있으며 예술을 수학과 과학, 기술 교과를 지도하기 위한 보조도구로 간주되고 있는 현상을 극복하고, 융합적 소양 및 예술적 감성과 창의성을 고루 갖춘 인재 양성을 위해 초등학교에서의 음악과 중심의 STEAM 수업 프로그램을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 음악 중심 STEAM 수업 프로그램은 교사가 교과간의연계를 깊이 있게 지도 할 수 있고, 학생이 다양한 활동을 통해 흥미 있고 재미있게 학습하며 교육과정에충실한 심화학습을 할 수 있도록 음악을 중심으로 각 교과가 자연스럽게 융합이 이루어지게 하였다. 주제중심 학습, 문제중심 학습, 프로젝트 학습이 가능하고, 개념과 지식 습득에 그치지 않고 활용까지 나아가종합적인 문제해결력을 길러주며, 학생들의 직접 체험과 활동에 대한 보상 체계를 포함하도록 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 ‘백화점의 비밀’과 ‘음악의 원시시대’라는 두 가지 융합 주제를 가지고 수학적, 과학적 사고와음악활동을 연계하여 다양한 실험 및 음악적 탐구활동을 통해 수학과 과학의 지식과 개념을 실제 음악활동에 활용하고 음악적 체험의 질적 향상을 가져오도록 하였다. 성공적인 STEAM 교육을 위해 무엇보다도 각 교과 간의 활발한 교류와 심도 깊은 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구를 포함하여 음악교과가 보다 적극적이고 열린 마음으로 STEAM 교육에 기여할 수 있는 이론적, 실천적 연구를 더욱 체계적으로 수행해야 할 것이다.
