Poisoning with mushroom containing amatoxin may be a real medical emergency and is characterized by long incubation time lag, gastrointestinal symptoms, hepatotoxic phase and sometimes death. We report a family of parents and two children who ingested wild mushroom and recovered from varying degrees of hepatotoxicity. After eating cooked wild mushroom and its soup, they all developed abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea 11 hours later, Their liver enzymes reached peak level between 48 and 72 hours after the ingestion. Among the family members, 5-year-old girl showed the most severe hepatic toxicity of AST/ALT 14,099/13,176 IU/L. They were all treated with supportive measures including repeated activated charcoal and penicillin G and recovered from the hepatotoxicity between 7 and 28 days after the ingestion. Being based on the shape and a typical course of the amatoxin poisoning, we presume that this wild mushroom belongs to Amanita virosa.

Nomogram is a statistical tool that visualizes the risk factors of the disease and then helps to understand the untrained people. This study used risk factors of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and compared with logistic regression model and na¨ıve Bayesian classifier model. Data were analyzed using the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 6th (2013–2015). First, we used 6 risk factors about COPD. We constructed nomogram using logistic regression model and na¨ıve Bayesian classifier model. We also compared the nomograms constructed using the two methods to find out which method is more appropriate. The receiver operating characteristic curve and the calibration plot were used to verify each nomograms. 노모그램은 질병의 위험 요인과 예측 확률을 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 시각적으로 표현하는 통계적 도구이다. 본 논문은 만성 폐쇄성 폐질환(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)의 위험 요인을 이용하여 로지스틱 회귀모형과 순수 베이지안 분류기 모형의 노모그램을 구축하고 이를 비교하였다. 분석 데이터는 국민건강영양조사 6기(2013-2015)를 이용하여 진행하였다. 총 6개의 위험 요인을 이용하였다. 그리고 로지스틱 회귀모형, 순수 베이지안 분류기 모형과 각각의 구축 방법을 이용하여 만성 폐쇄성 폐질환의 노모그램을 제시하였다. 또한, 구축된 두 노모그램을 비교하여 유용성을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 ROC curve와 Calibration plot을 통하여 각 노모그램을 검증하였다.

The 5kWt dish solar collector is designed and the preliminary performance test for this is carried out. The diameter of the parabolic dish is 3.2 m, and its focal length is 2 m. It consists of 10 small reflectors which have their own curvatures, and the effective reflecting area is 5.9 ㎡, and the rim angle of the dish is 43.85°. The reflectivity of reflectors is 0.95, and the thermal capacity of the system is about 5 kW thermal. The aperture diameter of the cylindrical-shape receiver which is made of stainless steel is 100 ㎜, and the height is 210 ㎜. A quartz window is installed at the receiver aperture to minimize the convective heat loss and prevent air leakage. In order to increase the heat transfer area, porous materials (nickel-alloy) are inserted into the receiver. Air flows into the upper part of the receiver which is the opposite side of the aperture. After the air flows through the inside of the receiver, that goes out of the receiver through 3 exits which are located near the aperture. The volumetric flow rates of air are varied from 600 to 1200 L/min. The results show that the system efficiency and receiver efficiency increase as the volume flow rate increases.
To the Final Goal: Can We Predict and Suggest Mutations for Protein to Develop Desired Phenotype?

Directed evolution of proteins is a good approach to develop desired phenotypes from existing proteins. Fully experimental protein evolution usually utilizes randomization of a given protein sequence by error-prone PCR or gene shuffling followed by high-throughput selection or timeconsuming screening method. However, these random methods create mutant library full of deleterious mutations. In addition, they need high-throughput screening or selection method to search for positive clones from an enormous size of mutant library. Construction of a mutant library while retaining the original function is important for efficient protein evolution because it greatly reduces time and effort for the identification of positive mutants. Therefore, researchers have tried to reduce the size of mutant library by minimizing the occurrence of deleterious mutants. Such efforts have led to the creation of a concept of ‘small but smart library’. For this goal, neutral drift theory has been applied. Although smart library greatly reduces the library size, it is still the beyond the capacity of low-throughput assay. In parallel, computational analysis of protein structure and efforts to discriminate mutatable residues from all residues of a given protein have been consistently pursued. Accumulated knowledge of protein evolution through random mutation and selection has improved our understanding of functions of amino acids in protein structure. Protein evolution by rational design is being developed based on such understanding. In this review, we describe how the use of semi-rationally designed library rather than completely random one has impacted the overall procedure of directed evolution. We also describe efforts made to evaluate the effect of single mutation. Such efforts will bring lazy boys to the final goal - computational mutation suggestion system.

Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychopathological features such as depression and anxiety in schizophrenics with obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCS) as well as the severity of OCS according to duration of schizophrenia. Methods We randomly selected sixty four inpatients with schizophrenia. We classified the patients into two groups (OCS group, non-OCS group) according to the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS). Clinical and demographic features were evaluated. To assess OCS, Y-BOCS were performed. The Korean version of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(K-PANSS), the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), the Korean version of the Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia (K-CDSS), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) were conducted. Independent t-test and chi-square test were conducted to compare the two groups. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between the duration of schizophrenia and the Y-BOCS score. Results The Y-BOCS, K-CDSS, and BAI scores were higher in the OCS group. There was a significant correlation between the duration of schizophrenia and the Y-BOCS score. Conclusions Anxiety and depression symptoms were severe in the OCS group. In addition, the results of this study indicate that the longer duration of schizophrenia, the more severe the OCS. Therefore, the evaluation of OCS in schizophrenics should be accompanied by treatment intervention.
GNN을 이용한 웹사이트 Hierarchy 유사도 분석 기반 해외 침해 사이트 분류 모델 연구

The global popularity of K-content(Korean Wave) has led to a continuous increase in copyright infringement cases involving domestic works, not only within the country but also overseas. In response to this trend, there is active research on technologies for detecting illegal distribution sites of domestic copyrighted materials, with recent studies utilizing the characteristics of domestic illegal distribution sites that often include a significant number of advertising banners. However, the application of detection techniques similar to those used domestically is limited for overseas illegal distribution sites. These sites may not include advertising banners or may have significantly fewer ads compared to domestic sites, making the application of detection technologies used domestically challenging. In this study, we propose a detection technique based on the similarity comparison of links and text trees, leveraging the characteristic of including illegal sharing posts and images of copyrighted materials in a similar hierarchical structure. Additionally, to accurately compare the similarity of large-scale trees composed of a massive number of links, we utilize Graph Neural Network (GNN). The experiments conducted in this study demonstrated a high accuracy rate of over 95% in classifying regular sites and sites involved in the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials. Applying this algorithm to automate the detection of illegal distribution sites is expected to enable swift responses to copyright infringements. 전 세계적으로 한류 콘텐츠가 유행하며 국내뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 국내 저작물의 저작권 침해 사례가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 대응하기 위한 국내 불법 저작물 유통 사이트를 탐지하는 기술에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있으며 최근 연구는 국내 불법 저작물 유통 사이트들이 광고 배너를 상당수 포함하고 있는 특징을 활용한 연구가 존재한다. 그러나 해외 불법 저작물 유통 사이트의 경우 광고 배너를 포함하지 않거나 국내 사이트에 비해 적은 양의 광고를 포함하고 있어 국내와 같은 탐지 기술의 적용이 제한적이다. 본 연구에서는 저작물 불법 공유 사이트가 게시물과 저작물의 이미지를 유사한 계층 구조로 포함하는 특징을 이용하여 링크 트리 및 텍스트 유사도 비교 기반의 탐지 기술을 제안한다. 대량의 링크로 작성된 대규모 트리의 정확한 유사도 비교를 위해 GNN(Graph Neural Network)를 활용한다. 본 연구의 실험에서 일반 사이트와 저작물 불법 유통 사이트를 분류에 95% 이상의 높은 정확도를 보였고 해당 알고리즘을 적용하여 불법 유통 사이트의 자동화된 탐지를 통해 신속한 저작권 침해 대응이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
유아의 기질, 어머니의 양육태도, 조화적합성이 유동성 지능 및 결정성 지능에 미치는 영향

This study investigated how a child’s temperament, maternal parenting style and goodness of fit affect children’s intelligence in the contexts in which they are found by examining the independent and interactional effects of the 4 variables. The effects of each component were further examined according to the suggestions of the Gf-Gc theory. Subjects were 147 five-year-olds and their mothers living in Seoul and KyoungGi-Do. The main findings are as follows: 1) The goodness of fit of a calming temperament factor along with a maternal dependency-fostering parenting style effected fluid intelligence for the children in this study. 2) The effect of goodness of fit is slightly greater than the others’, thus, supporting the goodness of fit model. 3) For crystallized intelligence also the goodness of fit of a calming temperament had the most powerful effect. In addition, two interactional effects were found. 4) The goodness of fit of child’s temperament has a synergistic effect with a democratic parenting style and 5) a child’s adaptive temperament moderates the effect of a democratic parenting style. Because these findings demonstrate that even fluid intelligence, which is considered to be inherent, can be affected by parenting style, they imply that fluid intelligence can be changed to some extent by environment. Thus, the study suggests that contextual environmental and interactional effects be considered in determining children’s intellectual abilities. 이 연구는 유아의 개체 변인인 기질과 주요 환경 변인인 어머니의 양육태도, 그리고 기질에 관한 조화적합성이 상호작용하며 어떠한 양상으로 유아의 지능에 영향을 미치는가를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울경기지역의 만 5세아와 어머니 총 294명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 보다 구체적인 양상을 검증하기 위해 유동성 지능과 결정성 지능으로 나누어 본 결과, 유동성지능은 차분한 기질 요인과 이에 대한 조화적합성, 그리고 의존성 조장 양육태도가 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 특히 조화적합성이 기질요인보다 설명력이 더 커서 조화적합성의 영향력을 입증하였다. 또한, 선천적인 특성을 갖는 유동성지능도 어머니의 의존성 조장 양육태도가 영향요인으로 밝혀져 환경의 영향력을 시사했다. 결정성지능 역시 차분한 기질 요인에 대한 어머니의 조화적합성이 가장 큰 설명력을 가졌다. 또한 유아의 전체 기질에 대한 어머니의 조화적합성이 어머니의 민주적 양육태도와 만났을 때 효과가 상호상승되어 더 큰 영향을 미치고, 유아가 적응적 기질 특성이 낮은 경우에 민주적 양육태도의 효과가 커지는 상호작용 효과가 밝혀졌다. 이 연구는 유아의 지능에 미치는 개체 변인, 환경 변인, 그리고 양자의 연결 변인과 이들 간의 상호작용 효과를 밝히고 조화적합성이 기질보다 더 큰 영향력이 있음을 지지함으로써 유아 지능 관련 연구에 보다 심층적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한 지능을 유동성 지능과 결정성 지능으로 나누어 살펴봄으로써 지능 및 영향요인에 대한 보다 심층적인 결과를 제시하였다는 의의를 가진다.

Acid tolerance is one of the critical factors to determine the quality of the industrial production strains. Therefore, we have investigated the introduction of the acid tolerance genes into the genome of Escherichia coli BL21 by using CRISPR-Cas9 system. The dsrA and rcsB genes of E. coli K-12, which are involved in the heptanoic acid tolerance, were inserted into the genome of E. coli BL21 without scar. The native transcription unit (TU) of dsrA and the synthetic TU of rcsB were integrated in E. coli BL21 genome. We found that the position of genomic coordinate of 1,300,270 was more efficient to integrate dsrA and rcsB than genomic coordinate of 3,876,428. Furthermore, the rcsB was successfully expressed in the resulting engineered strains (i.e., rcsB+ or dsrA+ rcsB+ strains). The engineered strains expressing dsrA and/or rcsB showed the higher survival rate and specific growth rate under n-heptanoic acid stress than wild-type E. coli BL21. These results indicate that the newly introduced acid-tolerance systems were active in the E. coli BL21 strain.
