러시아에서 한국학의 영역은 비교적 긴 역사를 갖고 있다. 그러나 지금까지 외국어로서의 한국어 교육은 주로 한국학이라는 큰 영역내에서만 논의되어 왔다. 그러나 본 논문은 러시아 내에서의 한국학 영역 중에서 외국어로서의 한국어 교육만을 분리하여 논의하려는 데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로는 러시아에서의 한국어 교육 현황과 과제를 살펴보았다. 러시아의 한국어 교육 현황을 살펴보기 위하여, 첫째, 러시아에서의 한국어 교육의 역사적 배경과 교수법 등을 간략하게 서술하고 러시아에서의 교수법을 제시하였다. 둘째, 고등 교육 기관(대학)에서 한국어 교수법과 교육과정 및 졸업생들의 취업 상황 등 한국어 교육 전반을 살펴보았다. 특히, 필자는 한국어 교사 교육에 관심을 두고 검토하였다. 셋째, 러시아의 한국어 교육과 관련된 연구 현황을 살펴보는데, 러시아 및 한국에서 발표된 석ㆍ박사학위논문을 중심으로 분석해 보았다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 러시아에서의 한국어 교육의 문제점들을 지적하고 앞으로의 과제를 제시하였다. The field of Korean Studies has a comparatively long history in Russia and Korean Education (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, TKFL) in Russia has always been an integral part and has been discussed within the broad framework of Korean Studies. The goal of the present article is ro separate 'TKFL' from the broad term of Korean Studies in Russia. In order to provide a well rounded description of the TKFL in Russia today, the author does the following. First, she provides a brief description of the Modern Korean education history and describes the tradition of foreign language teaching methods in Russia. Second, she depicts the present situation in the field of TKFL in institutions of higher education, including the teaching approach, textbooks used, and the opportunities for employment for new graduates. The author pays particular attention to the Korean teacher development education in Russia. Third, she provides a list of the PhD and Master's theses in the field of TKFL published in Russia and Korea. Forth, she defines the challenges to TKFL in contemporary Russia. In the conclusion, some possible solutions to the defined challenges are offered.
