인대는 인체의 관절 주위에서 기능학적으로 매우 중요한 역할을 한다 인대의 기계적 성상과 손상 기전에 대한 많은 연구가 지금까지 진행되고 있으며, 많은 치료 방법들이 발달되어 사용되어 지고 있으나 치유의 질적 면이나 치유 촉진 및 완전한 치유에 대한 의문점들이 아직 도 남아있다. 관절의 기능에 중요한 역할을 하는 인대의 치유에 대한 연구와 이해를 하여 저자들은 인대의 조직학적 특성과 기계적 성상, 치유 과정 등에 관하여 여러 문헌들을 고찰하여 이 연구에서 알아보고자 한다 Ligaments are functionally very important structures in the joints of human. Many studies have been performed about injury mechanisms and mechanical properties of ligaments. Although treatment methods of injured ligaments have continually improved, many questions still remain about enhancing the rate, quality and completeness of ligament healing. For studies and understanding of the healing of ligaments that have important functions in the joint, this article reviews histological characteristics, mechanical properties and process of healing.

슬관절 손상과 동통의 치료 방법은 크게 보존적 치료와 수술적 치료로 나눌 수 있다. 보존적 치료로도 충분한 경우에도 과도한 수술적 치료를 시행하는 것을 볼 수 있는데, 이는 여러가지 면에서 바람직하지 않다. 따라서 손상의 기전을 명확히 알고 치료 방법을 선택하여 야 하겠다. 여기에서는 슬관절 손상 환자에서 손상 기전을 알아보고, 치료에 있어 보존적인 방법에 대해 알아보고자 한다. Treatment of knee injury and pain consists of conservative and surgical treatment. Although conservative treatment is suffice in many cases, surgical treatment is performed which is not necessary. Therefore, thorough knowledge of injury mechanism and selection of treatment modalities are required. Injury mechanism and conservative treatment of knee injury patients will be discussed.

Twenty-two symptomatic patients with suspected tears of the rotator cuff were studied with MR imaging and ultrasonography to determine the ability of detecting the rotator cuff tears. All patients underwent surgery. 1. For 2 patients of complete tears, MR images and ultrasonography also showed complete tear. 2. For 20 patients of partial tears, MR images showed partial tears in 17 of 20 patients and complete tears in 3of 20 patients. Thus the sensitivity of MRI for presence of rotator cuff tear was 100% and that for partial tear, 85%, Ultrasonographic findings showed partial tears in 11 of 20 patients, complete tears in 7 patients and negative finding for tear in 2 patients. Thus the sensitivity of ultrasonography for rotator cuff tear was 90% and that for partial tear, 55%. This result shows that MR imaging is the excellent diagnostic method for rotator cuff tear and is useful for differential diagnosis of partial and complete tear. On the other hand, sonography is inappropriate for differential diagnosis of partial and complete tear, but it is appropriate for the diagnosis for rotator cuff tear itself. So, ultrasonography may be used as a screening method of rotator cuff tear.

Acute patellar dislocation is a painful, terrifying experience that always occurs suddenly. The recurrence is unfortunately common and each experience is just as painful to the patient. With each acute dislocation, additional intraarticular derangement occurs. Therefore the goals of treatments are not only to relieve acute pain by prompt reduction of the dislocation but also to remove any chondral or osteochondral fragments that may be present within the knee joint and to restore normal patellofemoral anatomy, thereby preventing recurrent dislocation and avoiding future patellar subluxation. To present the details of arthroscopic medial retinacular repair in acute patellar dislocation. we report 2 patients with treatment of acute patellar dislocation with osteochondral loose body.
